Speedy deletion of Odie the Talking Pug

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Odie the Talking Pug requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 16:12, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request an article at WP:REQUEST

[edit]

I've removed your comment from Talk:Dog. You can request articles on talking dogs, tapirs, owls, or any other animal at WP:REQUEST. Regards. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 17:07, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It looks like you're having a bit of trouble creating an article, would you like some help? I can't guarantee I know the policies better than anyone else, but I can try! :-) We could try to work on a "sandbox" version of the article in your userspace if you like, and then move it into an article once it's up to speed. To do that, you would use a subpage like User:Pug power/Odie the Talking Pug. You could ask somebody from this list for a copy of the text that was up before it got deleted if you think it would make a good basis to start work on. Please give me a shout if you think this is a good idea and want me to help. --tiny plastic Grey Knight 21:03, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I saw your post at AN/I and felt that you were treated somewhat insensitively. Please see Zeltim Odie Peterson. It is well-referenced and I don't see why anyone would doubt Odie's notability. I hope you can help improve it. Best regards. Dolores Luxedo (talk) 02:26, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Odie

[edit]

I'm so glad you like the article. I'm hoping to get a picture of Odie to add to it, but I'm not sure I should disturb Odie's owners so soon after his passing. Dolores Luxedo (talk) 17:59, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
