Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Roar (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengals (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

License tagging for File:Sebextor-tp-2003 99563 zoom.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sebextor-tp-2003 99563 zoom.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Sophie ellis-bextor TOur.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sophie ellis-bextor TOur.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 21:35, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Opting in to VisualEditor

[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:22, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Hello. Regarding images, I noticed an edit summary on "By the Grace of God" and should mention the following: The reason I removed images in the past is because those were images of people who did not contribute anything to the song. Since Greg Wells contributed (as you included his photo), it is one I would in fact add. Adding images of people who did not contribute is essentially pointless. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 15:55, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On the "Roar" article, it really is unnecessary to have images of people/things that are not related to the song/did not contribute to the song. Therefore, the Ellie Goulding picture and bridge photo are really unnecessary, even if she performed at the bridge. The bridge isn't some significant part of her career or anything, and Ellie has nothing whatsoever to do with the song and did not contribute anything to it. Hello, and thank you! I'm still working on finishing up the critical reception, live performances, and chart performance, but after that I'll move it over to the "Dark Horse" page. In regards to "By the Grace of God" I think that the page could use some expansion since there's tons of information regarding the composition and a few other things, but otherwise it looks like a good article. File permission problem with File:Bonnie McKee 3.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bonnie McKee 3.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:30, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Katy Hudson album

[edit]

Date format was clearly mdy and per WP:DATERET should not be changed. Also, per WP:STRONGNAT should be mdy as the subject and label are both American. As for the copy edits, the too were necessary. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:43, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

December 2013

[edit]
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Katy Hudson (album). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. It's not my way, it's the right way, and since you clearly don't understand the subject of Christian music and should not be writing about it. I'll bring it up with the project and have others fix your poor writing. It's not a GA article. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:46, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't need a warning for my edits. I didn't revert them again, instead of you. First and foremost, I'm not English so I can't speak at a native level, which I have specified in my user page. Second, if you want it to stay as the poor article as it was before I expanded it, do it. But the Katy Perry WikiProject could use this good article. Third, I don't appreciate Christian music but I respect the fact that you do. But for any album article of good quality, a lead section discussing important factors about the album, including genres and composition, is necessary. Plus, don't just mix it in one paragraph because it looks terrible. Can we reach some sort of agreement? Thank you in advance. Prism 23:52, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you do need a warning. You've changed the article three times which puts you at the border of the three revert rule.
No agreement is necessary. Now that I know you're not a native English-speaker that explains the poor grammar and other problems. The fact that you reverted my attempts to improve the article's grammar simply show you're too close to your edits. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:56, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Walter Görlitz: We're way past the grammar issues, I still want to know why do you not want the genres to be addressed in the lead. Prism 23:59, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I notice Walter's request for another set of eyes Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Christian_music#Katy_Hudson.2FKaty_Perry. I read the article through once and had some comments. First the month/date format needs to be mdy - this is an American topic. And the Contemporary Christian genre definitely needs to be addressed in the lead like it is right now. Why does the article call her Perry instead of Hudson since Hudson was her name used when the album was released? Other than that issue, I don't see any major obstacles for it being a GA. The Contemporary Christian genre is the Christian version of the mainstream genre Contemporary hit radio. It includes a range from soft adult contemporary up through Christian rock.
