Last warning: please respond
In view of ridiculous edits such as this and this, and ridiculous replies such as this to concerns, please state either below, or in this ANI discussion, whether you are here for any other purpose than to waste other editors' time. The number of articles and redirects of yours that have been deleted is also of concern. Please explain yourself before making further edits to other pages, or you run the risk of being blocked. Thank you. Bishonen | talk 14:18, 2 June 2018 (UTC).
Lu Yanzhi moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Lu Yanzhi, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Prisencolin, I thought your name was familiar and found our previous interactions in the archives for this page. I am disappointed. That's a notable architect with loads of book sources and you did a very poor job creating an article on him. I've just squeezed in the time at work and before walking the poor dog to fix it up enough that it is at least apparent that he merits an article. That was your job. WikiCup 2018 July newsletter
The third round of the 2018 WikiCup has now come to an end. The 16 users who made it to the fourth round had at least 227 points. Our top scorers in round 3 were:
- Courcelles, a first time contestant, with 1756 points, a tally built largely on 27 GAs related to the Olympics
- Cas Liber, our winner in 2016, with two featured articles and three GAs on natural history and astronomy topics
- SounderBruce, a finalist last year, with a variety of submissions related to transport in the state of Washington
Contestants managed 7 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 120 good articles, 1 good topic, 124 DYK entries, 15 ITN entries, and 132 good article reviews. Over the course of the competition, contestants have completed 458 GA reviews, in comparison to 244 good articles submitted for review and promoted. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process; several submissions, particularly in abstruse or technical areas, have needed additional work to make them completely verifiable.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. The article George C. Herring has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Boleyn (talk) 20:07, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- It would be nice if you had the time to work on this article a bit more. Right now it is a little bit too small. It might also be worth noting that making small and unsourced articles is generally a bad idea. Try to write a few paragraphs and add two to three references. At least one reference is a requirement for any article about a living person. Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 11:16, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
Hello, Prisencolin. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Marilyn Loden, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Marilyn Loden to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.
If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.
Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of List of positions of authority
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of positions of authority requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. University of California at Los Angeles
I cited a state government website, which mentions "University of California at Los Angeles" without italicizing "at". It is unconventional to italicize "at" in university naming.
https://lao.ca.gov/analysis/1973/02_preliminary_1973.pdfBcf1291 (talk) 04:37, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
I found a better (archived) source from UCLA:
"The name was changed in 1927 to the University of California at Los Angeles, and a comma replaced the word at in 1953." No italicized words are cited. Bcf1291 (talk) 04:44, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- I italicized it in the inbox to make it more obvious how the name was changed.--Prisencolin (talk) 05:56, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
I see your reasoning now, but it is not necessary to point out what part of the former name was changed. If you look at other Wikipedia pages about former university names, nothing in the name is italicized.
Example: "Golden Gate College" is now "Golden Gate University":

The article 義安 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Should only have titles in the Roman alphabet.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 06:26, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

"Doesn't hurt" is not a reason for including a irrelevant header on top of an article. We have to be mindful of due and undue weight and to lesser extent, using commonly recognizable names; [2] is one of the indicator that no academia, ever, refer to Battle of Wuhan as anything other than the current subject, so a disambiguation header here is grossly imbalanced. Even putting it in the "See also" section would be more appropriate, but like I said, the relevance is so minimal that I would suggest that you revert yourself. Thanks, Alex Shih (talk) 03:28, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- I mean, it happened in the same vicinity of the primary topic Battle of Wuhan, and certainly there was a portion of the latter battle that occurred in Wuchang. Also a glance at a google books search suggests that some sources do refer to the Taiping rebellion battles, albeit anachronistically as "Battle of Wuhan".--Prisencolin (talk) 20:29, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, but what I am trying to tell you is that it is not reflective of the due weight to call for the need of a visible disambiguate header, as nobody will be confusing the relatively unknown Taiping battles with these prominent primary topics. Move them to "See also" sections if you wish, but not as a header. Alex Shih (talk) 07:55, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to PLA, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I didn't see any discussion, but I did see one other editor object - see WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Widefox; talk 21:26, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 義安
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 義安, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to have the same content as an article that exists on another Wikimedia project. This may be because it was copied and pasted from that article, or because it was transwikied from the English Wikipedia to another project. (See section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) To learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English, please see Wikipedia:Translation.
Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use the sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. "Penis Land" isn't an appropriate redirect for "Pen Island" as those are very separate concepts. Sexual jokes don't belong within redirects. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:45, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

Bichang (Qing dynasty) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Bichang (Qing dynasty), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. Wikipedia cannot be used as a reliable source. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. WikiCup 2018 September newsletter
The fourth round of the 2018 WikiCup has now come to an end. The eight users who made it to the final round had to score a minimum of 422 points to qualify, with the top score in the round being 4869 points. The leaders in round 4 were:
- Courcelles scored a magnificent 4869 points, with 92 good articles on Olympics-related themes. Courcelles' bonus points alone exceeded the total score of any of the other contestants!
- Kees08 was second with 1155 points, including a high-scoring featured article for Neil Armstrong, two good topics and some Olympics-related good articles.
- Cas Liber, with 1066 points, was in third place this round, with two featured articles and a good article, all on natural history topics.
- Other contestants who qualified for the final round were Nova Crystallis, Iazyges, SounderBruce, Kosack and Ceranthor.
During round four, 6 featured articles and 164 good articles were promoted by WikiCup contestants, 13 articles were included in good topics and 143 good article reviews were performed. There were also 10 "in the news" contributions on the main page and 53 "did you knows". Congratulations to all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck, and let the best editor win! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Godot13, Sturmvogel 66, Vanamonde and Cwmhiraeth. Page name Bendi Pinghua
I was wondering if the current page name is the best. Are there any English publications that use this name? Whilst a titles like "Tongdao bendihua" and "Tongdao Pinghua" are informative, the current title "Bendi Pinghua" does not tell one which Pinghua lect one is talking about, as all lects may be called "bendihua".Johnkn63 (talk) 16:26, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnkn63: I really am not familiar with the literature surrounding Pinghua, sorry.—Prisencolin (talk) 03:35, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- OK. I have moved the page from "Bendi Pinghua" (local Pinghua) to "Tongdao Pinghua"(Pinghua spoken in Tongdao) and updated the content accordingly. The vast majority of Pinghua speakers live in Guangxi, and less than 1% in Tongdao. Wikipedia currently only has two Pinghua pages, this page and the main Pinghua page, other pages such as Northern Pinghua and Southern Pinghua would help put this page in context.Johnkn63 (talk) 09:11, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
