Great Work
[edit]Hey Preetam040. I would just like to say great job with the Indian Football pages. You are doing and great job right now finding all this information about stuff like the India national football team. I just have one question. Were do you get this information. I have been trying for a long time to get information about all this stuff you added yet can't find it. If you could tell me that would be great. Thanks. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 22:43, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of Indian footballer who played abroad for deletion
[edit]The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indian footballer who played abroad until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. ScottyBerg (talk) 16:51, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Preetam, I suggest that you post your views on the AfD page. Even though the original research issue has been resolved, and I've made note of that, there is some sentiment that this might be better as a list article. ScottyBerg (talk) 18:28, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
If the article becomes a list article, it would not be the end of the world. Please don't be discouraged. ScottyBerg (talk) 18:30, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Upcoming Fixtures for India
[edit]Hey I do see what your saying and really so far all your edits made to Indian Football have been right so I really should not doubt you when it comes to fixtures. I will add those three matches then. Also sorry,--Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:17, 30 September 2011 (UTC) I used an I-Phone for that and it used autocorrect to say Myanmar.
Baichung Bhutia
[edit]I've replied to you on the talk page of the Baichung Bhutia article. Banana Fingers (talk) 17:37, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah,i saw it. Preetam040 (talk) 14:05, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- And what do you have to say about it? Because the content that is on the Baichung Bhutia page regarding his goals is contradicting a reliable source. Banana Fingers (talk) 13:24, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Infact RSSSF is also not right :
- 1 22 30.10.07 Goa-Margao Lebanon 2-2 World Cup qualifier
in this match goals were scored by chhetri & dias, not by baichung(baichung had assist) proof:i saw that match and as u said atleast 30 goals so there is every chance that baichung has scored more goals here is the link which will give you the profile of every player: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/baichung-bhutia/profil/spieler_64599.html Preetam040 (talk) 15:18, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Well there you go, that 2-2 draw with Lebanon is one less goal for him. And as I've said, unless you can point out other goals he has scored which is not listed in that RSSSF file, then he only has 30 minus 1 (the game against Lebanon) goals. Therefore 43 isn't accurate and shouldn't be placed in the article. To add, Transfermarkt also isn't the most reliable of sources. Usually they refer to Wikipedia for stats. Banana Fingers (talk) 15:30, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- May be we have not much reliable source but every (most of ) source pointing to 40+ goals.Actually i'm confused but in the sense how much goals he has scored 42 or 43 as i've seen in newspaper in some of them it was mentioned 43 in some 42 and bhaichung has his account in facebook as in fan page where it was mentioned 42 and some of the links who shows over 40+ goals are
http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/2696/indian-national-team/2011/08/21/2630044/indian-n.. Preetam040 (talk) 15:44, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Varin Mehta Article Assessment
[edit]I have reviewed the assessment request you submitted to WikiProject Biography relating to the Varin Mehta article. The article is current assessed as B-class, the highest assessment usually given to requests submitted at that page. If you would like the article assessed higher than B-class, you will need to submit it to Good article nominations. --TommyBoy (talk) 21:36, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Indian Footballers Abroad
[edit]Hey mate, sorry about what happened to your page. Now you know how I felt when they deleted History of Indian football for copyright. Any way I would suggest making another page like that but only as a category. Category:Indian Footballers who played abroad would be a huge page. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 00:16, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
P.S: Nice revamp of your own page. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 02:21, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Re: hello
[edit]Hey man, my only suggestion is to make this list of players who played abroad into a category. Thats all. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 19:50, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Hold up there buddy.
[edit]Fine I am sorry and you have proven your point about the Aussie match. The other stuff by the way I have no idea what your talking about. If there was something else I also reverted there I am sorry. Also why are you mad at me. I have done nothing to upset you. In fact I have helped you when you needed it. I am also sorry if you have a lot of work to do and that is why you can't be here. Its been also hell for me while here. There has been this one IP user who won't stop putting up fake information on mainly player pages. For example he said that Manadeep Singh played 33 games with Indian Arrows in the I-League 2010-11. That is not true because the I-League season is 26 games long. Where did the other 7 games come from. Anyway once again sorry. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 05:07, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
PS: If you would also want if you are not here already there is an Indian Football Forum webpage where Indian Football lovers like you and me can talk about Indian Football and even debate. Click here to go there.

Goalkeeping Stats
[edit]Hey Preetam, I noticed that you are editing the India national football stats and must say you are doing good but I have a question about the goalkeeping stats. On Roy Chowdhury's wiki page it says he has 7 caps while on the India national team wiki you changed it to 2. Also on the India wiki you changed Gurpreet Sandhu caps to 1. Well when did Sandhu even get his first cap. There is no record of that. There is no mention of a first cap on his wiki page. So for now I reverted those edits because I am just a bit suspicious about the caps. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:29, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- I am sorry but I don't think that is right. Mainly the club statistics are wrong. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 20:25, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
yeah, but country stats are nearly accurate i just refer country stats from this website.Preetam040 (talk) 04:49, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- They are nearly accurate. I am just a bit concerned. Anyway as far as I am concerned Gurpreet has never been caped by India seniors. He has been with India sense 2010 and has always been a bench guy. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 05:36, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu
[edit]Hey mate again. Sorry I am bothering you so much about the caps but do you know where I could find the line-ups from the 2009 SAFF Cup because Sandhu was the keeper then and all the SAFF Cup games count as senior caps for players so he might actually have more than one cap for India. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 05:04, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
There is no point in gettin those info. as U-23 team took part in 09 saff tournament and that matches don't count as senior match,if that would had have counted then jeje lalpeklua caps would be 21 by now but it shows 16 by now as jeje was part of that team but his debut match is in afc challenge cup but still if u r persistent then try in www.goal.com/en-india and search there by typing saff 09...Preetam040 (talk) 12:43, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- True. I mean if Sandu has a cap for India though it has to come from that though because I have been following all the Indian games sense 2010 and he has not made a single appearance for India in these 2 years. He has always been 3rd choice. Oh a by the way when you change the caps on the national team page please change the national caps for that player as well. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 20:16, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Happy New Year
[edit]Hey mate, Happy New Years to you to. WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
[edit]Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

The article Varin Mehta has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played ina fully pro league.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:46, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
I answered it in the article's talk page. Preetam040 (talk) 15:31, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Varin Mehta (from Arsenalkid700)
[edit]Hey mate, first off dont take off the proposed deletion because if you do then one of the people from Wikiproject Football will come and put the page on speedy deletion (basically we are fucked if that happens). Also what the reason for deletion meant is that Mehta has not played a single game for the Antwerp squad yet. He has never played in an actual senior game in his life. He may have at Mahindra but I could not find anything.
The other way you can save the article though is by providing multiple news articles on him, if you do then he would be counted as notable as he would have been in the news a lot.
BTW, can you please sign up for Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/India task force --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 19:46, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Baichung's goals
[edit]Hey mate. Great to talk to you again. Yes I have been talking to BananaFingers about the number of goals Baichung has and we are now branching out into other players. Now I have not done that much research so I am more of a yes man here. All he has done is say this and this and show me some documents which do show 30 goals. I myself have not had the time to do that much research so if you want, you are welcomed to join the conversation on his talk page. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 21:42, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- You're not convinced. Suit yourself. You don't really need to do any research as well. What I've already provided along with some basic logic (which I've also explained) proves Bhutia's supposed 107/108 caps & 43 goals for India's senior team is FALSE! Banana Fingers (talk) 19:28, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Re:Sunil Chhetri 2008
[edit]Thats all BananaFingurs mate. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 18:31, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ya. If you go to India's page on national-football-teams.com and go to the year 2008, you'll see that there is a missing match, versus Chinese Taipei on 27 May. As per this news source about that game, there's a paragraph which says Sunil Chhetri played his heart out, which means he made an appearance and that's an extra cap for 2008! I've already told Arsenalkid700 about this back in March (see his talk page archive #2) and again recently but it seems he never took note. Banana Fingers (talk) 19:28, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

I-leguage goal scorers
[edit]hi,
I think goal scorers format must to be changed.Current format is difficult for others to update.Normal table would to quick to update.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rasulnrasul (talk • contribs) 12:49, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Its nice to have goalscorer name along with his club,by the way i'm not getting. Will you please explain me what normal table you are talking about? Cheers...Preetam040 (talk) 15:56, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
I mean grouping players with same number of goals for every round is difficult, instead we can just put player his team and goals .
something similar to this https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/2013%E2%80%9314_Borussia_Dortmund_season#Squad_and_statistics
I would say that its a pretty good idea but here we don't have the luxury of much details like Germans as you will see there stats for every tournament but here you will see that in coming other local tournament we will fail to garner every detail.so we only left with i-league and it will be good if we give more detail of i-league and better stick with topscorer along with their Rank and to have rank we have to follow that table. But if you go through their code its not complicated but its lengthy,i suggest you to give a look on those code and i'm sure you will master it. Cheers..Preetam040 (talk) 14:30, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I want table to be like this, because its easy to update by everyone. Every time grouping players with same number of goals is difficult.
Rank | Player | Club | Goals[1] |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Josimar | Mohammedan | 7 |
1 | Darryl Duffy | Salgaocar | 7 |
1 | Cornell Glenn | Shillong Lajong | 7 |
4 | Sean Rooney | Bengaluru FC | 6 |
Rasulnrasul (talk) 10:35, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
Re:need a suggestion for footballer wiki page
[edit]I looked at the table and it looks very nice and well organized. I believe that the table should be used and posted in the articles of each of the football clubs mentioned in the table. I do have a suggestion. Create a "template" with the table. You can then be at ease editing and updating the table without much unwanted outside interference, plus it would be a good way of keeping those who dedicate themselves to vandalizing individual pages from doing so to the table. Tony the Marine (talk) 16:36, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
- You have another option. I can understand why the incomplete table is being removed. I think, that since the JCT club data is not exactly accurate, it would be best if instead of posting the table in the main space, you posted it in your "sandbox" where you could work on it. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:44, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Not so hard ain't it
[edit]That was not hard was it. That is what I was looking for you dif. I seriously did not know where you were going with that RSSF stuff. You needed to simply say that is what it said in the section and that that area was sourced so thus acceptable. Ah... I like messing with you mate :p. But ya, you did get rid of the Chhetri brace stuff, perhaps by accident. [1]. Anyway, good job. Now get that table good and we are rolling! --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:25, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Listen one thing..i'm updating only when i'm 100% sure,i did that in past, will do in future. You will not see me wiki everyday,so have trust in me when i'm editing. And yeah you do irritate me sometime by doing those stuff. So if you find something odd first consult me then revert it..bcoz if i'm doing something means there is fact.....Preetam040 (talk) 17:35, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Ya, true, I will be the first to admit that I can be a jerk on here but I do it for a reason and I hope you can understand that. However, what I also is reasonable, if I ask for a source, just give me it or give me a reasonable explanation and I will be fine. And I do trust in your abilities on wikipedia and I do know you are a good wikipedian, that is why you are the only one I have told about the User:ArsenalFan700/2013-14 I-League page. I know I can trust you and I hope you continue on in the future. You are a very valuable asset, not only to the Indian football project, but to wikipedia's project overall and I hope you know that. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:49, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Listen up mate, you have the reason for removing that part but the way was not right,if you needed source you could have informed me here and i would have gladly posted here and if not satisfied you could have removed it,but as said not before we should have disscussed it here. Now we both know we wasted our time by reverting each other updation and challenging each other.Trust me ,i'm getting little time in wiki and after putting effort here and when i see something reverting and challenging me in that way,you could understand how much anyone will be annoyed.Anyway Cheers...Preetam040 (talk) 18:18, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I understand. Sorry. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:41, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Um... ya... dude.
[edit]Regarding this: [2]. Look at when the hat-trick was scored and when the last time I updated the page was... ya... you understand why I had it hidden? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 21:22, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

- But on a serious note, I will admit, it has been tough to find the motivation. I could work on the 2013–14 season stuff but we are well done with this season almost with only a few things to get finished. I could work on the 2014–15 season but I don't know what the schedule or system for next season is so what can I do? I could work on American soccer but that is not my main area and I could work on the 2014 New York Red Bulls page but there is an editor there who likes the moronic and idiotic style used on the 2013–14 Arsenal F.C. season and 2013–14 FC Barcelona season pages instead of the style used in the 2002–03 Arsenal F.C. season article which has been rated as a great article on wikipedia compared to the others which have gained plently of controversy... however, I do change the style then I am worried that the other guy will just revert and become an asshole like everyone else and I don't have time for that. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 16:36, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:18, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
