- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:PoetMsabid/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:PoetMsabid/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:22, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
Source for a living person
[edit]For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
I hope this helps you. Writing an autobiography is very hard indeed. Almost no-one can be objective enough about themselves to achieve it. Research sources first. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:44, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- If you wish for the draft to be un-deleted please contact the deleting administrator. You can fid out who that is by clicking the red link to the draft. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:46, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- The thing you need to be sure of before you submit the draft is that you show that you pass WP:NPOET by the references you choose. Those references must pass the criteria above. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:49, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the detailed explanation and helpful advice. I completely understand the importance of using reliable, independent sources and will focus on gathering secondary sources that meet the criteria you've outlined. I appreciate your point about avoiding primary and self-published sources, and I will make sure to follow the guidelines carefully.
- I’ll research and add the necessary references to substantiate my draft and ensure the facts are clearly backed up. I’ll also reach out to the deleting administrator as you suggested if I wish to have the draft restored. PoetMsabid (talk) 21:49, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- You might start by reading this essay which has a process inside which gives you a route map towards success, if success is achievable. It is the references that you depend upon 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:53, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

I left out all the commercial links to Amazon etc., and the unnecessary wikilinks to articles like "Pakistan" and "school". BTW it is REALLY good idea to practice on a website, like learn the rules and the guidelines and learn how it works, before one goes to promote themselves on that site. Drmies (talk) 21:56, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Muhammad Siddique Abid (Urdu: محمد صدیق عابد) or M S Abid is a Pakistani lyricist and a poet whose written songs frequently have been sung by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and other singers like Badar Miandad , Allah Dita Lone Wala, Lakhwinder Wadali and Nooran Sisters. [edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:M S Abid. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 23:12, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Cosmic6811 If you read above, the creating editor has asked for the chance to work on this Draft. I understand your message to them, it is just that there is some history here. I think this may be better left for the Draft until after AFC submission. YMMV 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:23, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- That makes sense -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 23:28, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Cosmic6811 Thank you, on my own and on their behalf. If you have any guidance for them I am sure they would appreciate the chance to receive it in the hope that they can create an acceptable draft. They have the determination to do so, but they may not manage to verify notability. I would hate to see them fail by accident. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:52, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:PoetMsabid
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:PoetMsabid, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

- Unfortunately you wrote in two places. The valid place is the Draft. Your user page is not the right place for an article. There you may say simple things about yourself, but not self publicise. Have a look at mine, for example 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:26, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

- Leave User:PoetMsabid blank for the present Only work on Draft:M S Abid. Do not press the submit button until your references verify that the subject passes WP:NPOET, or it will fail, and may be deleted again as an advert.

AfC notification: Draft:M S Abid has a new comment
[edit]- Thanks, now I just need to wait, right?" PoetMsabid (talk) 23:33, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- No. You need to read the comment, the top one, and consder very seriously that:
- Youtube is useless to you as a reference
- you need to find better references that meet the tough criteria we discussed in "Source for a living person"

Notice: Paid editing without disclosure
[edit]Hello PoetMsabid. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:M S Abid, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:PoetMsabid. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=PoetMsabid|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Wikibear47 (talk) 18:31, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
