Your new GDP figures on Kosovo

[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you added new 2014 estimated GDP figures, but based your GDP per capita figures on a 2011 estimate of the population of Kosovo, thus inflating GDP per capita. But don't worry, I have corrected your mistake by adding a 2014 estimate of the population and correcting the estimated GDP per capita. Next time please update both the estimated GDP and the estimated population figure, otherwise someone might get the impression that you are trying to deliberately inflate GDP per capita. Thank you. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Eurovision Song Contest 2015, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Kosovo at the Olympics, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. OK, again... This user doesn't seem to even care to understand what related participations are and continues with the eye-for-eye mentality "Oh, if you remove Albania, remove Serbia as well"... User:CambridgeBayWeather I already asked help from WP:Olympics but they seem rather uninterested in wanting to enter into this. Please help us, I am loosing a bit of my patience with this. FkpCascais (talk) 15:23, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Albania should be included in the infobox for the following reasons:
  1. Following Kosovo's independence and the IOC's resistance to recognise Kosovo, athletes born there, decided to participate under the flags of Serbia and Albania. Therefore, if the Serbian flag stays in the infbox, the Albanian one should as well, as those were the official other-related appearances of Kosovo's athletes (and let's not forget that the basic rule of the Olympics is that the competition is about the athletes, not their countries of origin).
  2. If the Albanian flag is removed from the infobox, because *apparently* you can't add athlete's personal choices' countries, then you should remove Serbia as well, because de facto Kosovo was not part of Serbia since February 2008 (before the 2008 Summer Olympics)
  3. This case is similar to the Independent Olympic Team appearance. Basically if athletes from one country can't participate for their country (like Kosovar athletes for Kosovo), they participate under ANOTHER flag, in this case the IOP; and if the IOP flag is added to the infobox, the Albanian one should as well.
This is enough explanation needed for someone who understands. --PjeterPeter (talk) 15:29, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Advice at WP:DRN

[edit]

This advice is often given at the dispute resolution noticeboard and applies to your case. Comment on content, not contributors. I know that you are frustrated by another editor, but the purpose of WP:DRN is to improve the article, or, in this case, template, not to discuss the other editor. Please do not complain about the other editor. Whether to include Albania is relevant, but dispute resolution does not focus on the other editor. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:18, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Robert McClenon. I will most certainly keep that in mind, and I'll try keeping justice in, and nationalism out. --PjeterPeter (talk) 13:21, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help out if you can, I am being harassed by Anonimski who is biting hard to keep Cyrillic on the article because he probably has never lived in Kosovo and doesn;t know that although Serbian has officialdom with Albanian it is only in Latin, never Cyrillic. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2015 Kosovo protests, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Peja and Demonstrations. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of Southern Albania

[edit]

The article Southern Albania has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject fails WP:GNG No evidence of stand alone encyclopedic notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Thank you for trying to keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at Melodifestivalen 2015, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage editors. Please read Wikipedia:NOTVAND for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. An experienced editor would take the time to do a quick Google search to see if there is a source to verify and then add the citation, before accusing a user of vandalism. In this case I did such search, and found a source verifying the International Juries and added it to the article. It may be appropriate to issue an apology to the user to whom you falsely accused of vandalism. Wes Mouse | T@lk 13:34, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Partia Socialiste

[edit]

The "logo" you added is not used in any capacity in official party events or presentations. If you look at the official Facebook page of the Socialist Party of Albania you will only see the green circle with pink rose logo, layed out in a purple background. That is the logo used as late as the 2015 elections. It was the same logo used in this year's party congress back in March. Please do not remove it again or I'll report you for disruptive behavior.

Election results

[edit]

Thanks for adding the detailed Albanian election results. However, please be aware that many of the party logos and crests of counties are non-free images – this means they can only be used on the articles about the party or county, and cannot be used on any other article (otherwise it becomes a copyright violation).
