Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Pierre O'Rourke
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Pierre O'Rourke, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]Hello, thanks for contacting me. All Wikipedia articles need to be written in a NPOV sort of way . See, WP:NPOV. Your draft was so far below that bar, it sounded like advertising, so I tagged it for deletion. If you can make your draft sound neutral and not promotional ,it won't be deleted. Or you can let it be deleted and then recreate your draft but this time make it sound neutral instead of advertising. I'll leave you more links on your talk page in a sec. Happy editing. Ok thank you. I look forward to having the opportunity to work more towards what your looking for. Pierre O'Rourke (talk) 03:15, 16 October 2018 (UTC

Draft
[edit]Hello, I've removed some POV wording in your draft. I will remove the CSD tag, but I suggest you follow the advice I previously gave you. I also got some more advice for you about Autobiographies I will give you next.JC7V-constructive zone 03:30, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Pierre O'Rourke, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.
The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)

Edit Draft
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I have edited my draft. Can you please review this? This is not an autobiography. I was requested to write a page due to a recent book publication. Thank you.
Pierre O'Rourke (talk) 23:09, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
- There are a few things that you need to do.
- Request a new user name. If you are not Pierre O'Rourke, you may not have an account that impersonates him.
- Whether or not you are Pierre O'Rourke, you say you were requested to write this article about him. That most likely means that you have a conflict of interest and must disclose your connection on your user page and, ideally, on the talk page of the draft.
- In order to be accepted, your draft must provide references that establish that its subject is notable. In this case, it appears that the criteria that apply to writers is what you have to meet. So far, your references don't meet this standard.
- You are welcome to ask questions at the Teahouse. You can get advice about notability references at the Articles for Creation help desk; they can tell you if the references you have are adequate without doing the entire review of the draft. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:46, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user subpage at User:Pierre O'Rourke may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively, you may add {{Db-u1}}
to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline.
Should have mentioned this above. Your user page is a place to write a few things about yourself and your Wikipedia editing. It is not a place for your autobiography, CV, resume, or for drafting new article content. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:54, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
