Discretionary sanctions alert - gender and sexuality

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Puberty blocker. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. SamX [talk · contribs] 04:59, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, so you guys can add your own views but I can't? There is a WEALTH of data which indicates puberty blockers can produce dangerous side effects, but Wikipedia has shown the balanced view. It also hasn't shown that many children on them for gender reasons are on them WAY past puberty. Pianistinator (talk) 21:19, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sideswipe9th. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Homosexuality have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Sideswipe9th (talk) 18:47, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Homosexuality IS NOT GENDER BASED. This is so fucking homophobic. Pianistinator (talk) 18:51, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Quite a lot of editors agree that it should perhaps be changed to sex only. Because it is a conversial change, you must ask for consensus on the talk page. Panamitsu (talk) 21:35, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Homosexuality. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Sideswipe9th (talk) 18:49, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please will you explain how C:File:The Eternal Flame, Sarajevo.jpg can be your "own work" when you say it was " Shot by Jack Rose. Instagram username: @Camerahuffer". Are you Jack Rose? What copyright is claimed for the image on Instagram? (I do not wish to create an Instagram account to check this). ColinFine (talk) 22:02, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, it's my own work. I'm Jack Rose. I was adding my details there so people could see my profile and you don't need an instagram account to view as far as i'm aware. How else can I prove? Pianistinator (talk) 16:02, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh right. So you haven't posted that image on Instagram? That's OK then: thank you for clearing that up. But I think you should remove the mention of your Instagram handle there, both because it's misleading (I assumed the image had been posted on Instagram, and went looking for it) and because it is promotional to include it.
