Welcome to Wikipedia, Phalaenopsisis! I'm I dream of horses, and I've been assigned as your mentor. About half of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.

You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.

If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

Women in Red

[edit]

Hi there, Phalaenopsisis, and welcome to Women in Red. It's always good to have new members interested in technology and mathematics. Until you gain more experience, I suggest you avoid adding red wikilinks as you did by adding Ophelie Coelho to the article Jean Moulin University Lyon 3. (In any case, I believe the correct spelling is Ophélie Coelho.) If you can find sufficient independent coverage, she might deserve an article but you should first look carefully through our Ten Simple Rules. As you appear to be a native French speaker, you might prefer to create her biography on the French version of Wikipedia. Please let me know if you run into difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:10, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for the advice @Ipigott ! I'm going to start slowly, in order to understand the functioning, the rules, the typography. I have dual French-American nationality and I speak both languages fluently so I really want to contribute to both cultures 😊❤️.
And you are absolutely right about Ophélie Coelho, I forgot the "é" 😱! Phalaenopsisis (talk) 09:37, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Ipigott ! After experimenting with several tasks on various pages, I decided to create a page for a well-known French researcher who specializes in submarine cable infrastructure. I've drafted the page, but I haven't received any feedback yet. I'm wondering if I followed the right process. Should I tag someone for review? Phalaenopsisis (talk) 07:14, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ipigott I realized that I forgot to submit it for review... XD ! Phalaenopsisis (talk) 07:19, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at Draft:Camille Morel and am concerned that it is based on primary sources. In order to meet notability requirements, biographies need to be based on significant coverage in at least three independent sources. See also the guidelines in our Ten Simple Rules.--Ipigott (talk) 09:31, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate you pointing that out! I’ve made some changes. Level up ... Phalaenopsisis (talk) 16:03, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
