Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!

[edit]

I noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:

  1. Read the Wikipedia:Orphan page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
  2. Look at {{Orphan}}, and {{Multiple issues}} closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly.
  3. Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month and there is a large backlog we need to clear out so we appreciate any help we can get.

Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project! JoeNMLC (talk) 20:15, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Persent101 (talk) 20:52, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Persent, I am also an occasional de-orphaner. As a heads up, I've reverted two of your recent de-orphanings - no big, but links from disambiguation pages don't count, as they are navigation pages not intended to be linked to. Linking from a list is fine though, as they are regular articles that are intended to be linked to. Cheers, ♠PMC(talk) 02:01, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh alright, thanks for telling me! Persent101 (talk) 02:10, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Re: Bare URLs

[edit]

This section has unusual in-text links. While they are not the usual definition of a "bare URL", they are still a reference not formatted as a proper footnote. ViperSnake151  Talk  00:13, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I didn't spot those. Persent101 (talk) 00:16, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bare URLs on UEFA articles

[edit]

Hey, hope you are well. I was interested to know more about the clean up tags being removed from articles including 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying phase and play-off round (Main Path)‎ without the bare URLs being converted to full citations. I only ask as I was a little confused by the reasoning in your edit summary because the corresponding article for 2023–24 doesn't contain bare URLs but still uses the same template to display match results. Thanks, Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 21:08, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hm. I assumed that the template couldn't use citation templates since they all said "Report" even when nothing but the link was entered into the parameter. If they can be converted, then the tag should be added back until the reports are converted. My mistake. Persent101 (talk) 22:11, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, thanks for getting back to me. I'll add them back in in that case (I might just undo your edits so sorry in advance for the barrage of notifications). Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 15:04, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
