Your recent edits

[edit]

You have edited a number of articles to insert a mention of a patent by Adrian Richard White, along with a citation to the test of the patent. this edit and this edit are typical. The patent is a primary source, and such sources must be used only with care here on Wikipedia. as WP:NOTRS says, "All interpretive claims, analyses, or synthetic claims about primary sources must be referenced to a secondary source, rather than original analysis of the primary-source material by Wikipedia editors." The question of what current technology is ultimately derived from a specific patent is just such an "interpretive claim", and should only be inserted in an article if supported by a secondary source. Such a mention may also be a case of undue weight. Please be more careful in future edits of this sort. DES (talk) 15:23, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

April 2016

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at MegaRAC, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Re-adding the patent information to multiple articles, particularly after being informed that a secondary cite was needed, and after the reverting editor (Minstrel1977) attempted to engage you on the relevant article talk pages, looks like Wikipedia:Tendentious editing, which can be grounds for an editor being blocked from editing. Please discuss the matter before trying to re-insert the claim. DES (talk) 22:21, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
