Re:Zosia Karbowiak

[edit]

Hello. I just check those added links, and unfortunately they do not appear to be independent coverage. The Eurovision links are published by... Eurovision. What we need are coverage from independent sources, those that are not affiliated with Karbowiak or Eurovision, like newspapers or news sites. Even if her songs charted, if there are no sources that confirm so, that won't work either. I can tell you that she is a very promising singer, and I know how it feels like to love the music of a relatively obscure singer, but at least Mami Kawada is the subject of reliable sources, and there are Oricon sites that confirm that her songs charted, coverage that unfortunately does not appear to exist for Karbowiak. May you kindly provide sources about the citation? I'll take a look and see if they can establish notability. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:01, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, YouTube is not a reliable source. Please read WP:RS and WP:INDEPENDENT to get a good understanding of what sources we need. You may also want to read WP:BLP. Thank you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:51, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing AfD template

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Zosia Karbowiak. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  19:28, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation

[edit]
Michael Caruso (musician), which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for Creation if you prefer.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Mblumber (talk) 00:54, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While its in your sandbox, do as you like. But when/if it is moved into the main article space, I can assure you that someoen will wiki-link "American", "Huston" "Texas" and "Los Angles" pretty much exactly as i did, probably within minutes, surely within days. That is the standard way to do things in Wikipedia articels.

Also, if you can find a few more independent reliabel sources that discuss Tamara Champlin in some detail, there may be fewer objections when you go live. The article might be improved too.

Good luck and happy editing. DES (talk) 22:30, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of additional formatting points for your attention:
  • We generally don't link to a given wikipedia article twice from the same article, and almost never twice in the same section of the same artice.
  • Extenal links are not normally used inline in articles. They may be used as citations (or as part of a citation) inside <ref> tags, or else can be in the "Extenal links" section. But not directly in article prose.
  • It's not a big deal, but the form [[Will Champlin]]'s is generally preferred to the form [[Will Champlin|Will Champlin's]] The resultin display and link are identical, and the first is shorter in the wiki-text.
  • A Wikipedia article should pretty much never be cited as a source, unless the entire point is to say that a Wikipedia article had some content at some point (such as in Wikipedia Seigenthaler biography incident notes 7 & 8).
  • Phrases like "This past year" rapidly become unclear and innaccurate, instead say "in 2014" or "during 2014-15" or whatever is accurate. Thank how it would read if it were still in the article in 5 or 10 years.
  • Phrases such as "our men and women stationed there" assume both reader and writer are from the US, which may well not be true.
I hope this is a bit helpful. DES (talk) 23:12, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am tempted to accept it as it stands. It will not be perfect. At this stage perfectly good enough is all that is required. When it is accepted be prepared to stand back, Father the article, do not mother it. Fiddle Faddle 21:39, 22 July 2015 (UT

Manual of Style and editing

[edit]

Hello, as you are working through articles like Jason Scheff, you should take some time to familiarize yourself with our Manual of Style, as you are making quite a few editing mistakes. For example, inline citations need to go in particular places (like directly after the closing period of a sentence, no spacing, or directly after a word or punctuation if mid-sentence). Titles of sections are written in sentence case and should be of an encyclopedia tone (not "New Horizons"). Also, you seem to mark most of your edit as "minor" when they are not; that designation is for trivial edits that no one would need to look at, like spelling corrections. I thank you for your attention to these matters. It makes collaborating much easier. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 17:41, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, one more thing: Please ensure (especially when dealing with living people) that you include citations to reliable sources when adding information. I had previously removed the "Personal life" section of Jason Scheff's article because it lists the personal details of people with no sources verifying the information or indicating why it's relevant. You can review WP:RS for information on what sources are considered reliable. I've removed that section again; please do not re-add it without reliable sources. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 00:20, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure that I want to source this more than I have which I thought was sufficient, so for now I will let it go as is and not try to re-add a personal section. thank you again for your input Paulhus15 (talk) 00:46, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
