[edit]Project invitation
[edit]Hey, I see you´re continuing to work on articles about military history. I don't know if you´re already aware but there is WikiProject Military history where you can find resources, structures, tutorials, article requests, a discussion platform and many other history editors. You might be interested e.g. in the taskforces about Early Modern warfare or German military history. It´s free and without further requirements, so you can take a look; and if you´re interested to sign up at some point just do so. Anyway, thanks for the time and for editing about military history and please continue with your work (und viel Spaß dabei). Regards ...GELongstreet (talk) 18:38, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the invitation! Yes, I've seen the project and I'm indeed interested. I'm glad if I can help you regarding the 17th century or especially the Thirty Years' War :) --Palastwache (talk) 08:38, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Correction to previous election announcement
[edit]Just a quick correction to the prior message about the 2022 MILHIST coordinator election! I (Hog Farm) didn't proofread the message well enough and left out a link to the election page itself in this message. The voting will occur here; sorry about the need for a second message and the inadvertent omission from the prior one. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 17:41, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Welcome
[edit]Hi, can you edit more in List of wars involving Germany to improve this article? I'm afraid that the article doesn't have enough information, I also don't have time now to search and edit. Gim709 (talk) 07:59, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, of course! I will see what I can do :) It's always a bit confusing if the whole HRE participated in a war or just the Emperor with his own army.--Palastwache (talk) 09:07, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, and don't forget other periods. Gim709 (talk) 08:49, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

I award this barnstar to you because of your important help with the Battle of Strasbourg Bridge article (see Talk page). Without your kind assistance, providing sources and giving useful suggestions, it would not have been possible. Thank you! Imonoz (talk) 06:04, 29 January 2023 (UTC) |

German vs Germanic
[edit]Not a problem - I don't have a view on whether the edit was an improvement or not, I was mass reverting the contributions of yet another sock from a particularly prolific globally banned LTA. Many of their edits are fine, but many of them also introduce their own POV that they are intent on pushing here - there aren't enough hours in the day to review them all, I just roll them all back. Feel free to reinstate any that you are prepared to stand by yourself. Girth Summit (blether) 13:27, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information! Palastwache (talk) 13:31, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's actually the same person behind the account I see a few sections up on this page, posting as Gim709. You and they must share some interests. Girth Summit (blether) 13:36, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I remember him from the article List of wars involving Germany. His edits seemed to be mostly good faith, but often with a hectic frequence and in an erratic style. I looked after the article every now and then but it has been entirely rewritten by another user since Gim709 was active there. Palastwache (talk) 13:57, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- They check back in on that article periodically. Looking through the recent history, I see Anewplayer05 and Gaitrumb, both of them were the same person. They are generally mostly concerned with Vietnam war stuff, but obviously have a side interest in German military history. Anyway, not something you need to worry about. Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 11:53, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
