There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Kanyfug (talk) 13:07, 26 August 2021 (UTC) I have notified the administrators about our disagreement.
September 2021
You wrote Minaj was revealed to appear
which is almost gibberish and then quoted Minaj as calling her unreleased album a game changer
. That is garbage editing and overt POV pushing. Are you trying to get blocked from editing Nicki Minaj, because you are very, very close to that outcome? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:44, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Cullen328: ? How is "Minaj was revealed to appear" gibberish when that's literally what the Billboard article said?
The Lockdown Sessions will also feature 10 brand new songs, featuring stars such as Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder and many more.
I wrote that she is going to appear on the album, that is simply it. Also, Minaj didn't say her unreleased album was a game changer, the edit says that she (which is to say, HER words and not an objective view of everyone) said that her lead single (NOT album) from the upcoming album is going to be a "game changer" (in quotation marks because that's what SHE said.) I included it because it's almost the only details we have of the upcoming album so far (besides that sentence, NO mention of her upcoming confirmed fifth studio album appears on the article, which I find problematic, since it's definitely releasing either this year or the next year if news sources are to be believed. - According to WP:POVPUSH, it says that it's an aggressive presentation of a particular point of view from the article. If I had wrote
The Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj described her lead single from her probably already critically acclaimed fifth studio album, the most albums for a female rapper from Trinidad a game changer which is completely true and none of the other rappers can compare!!
then I'd understand it as aggresive and intense POV pushing. - But all I actually wrote was
When asked about the lead single from her upcoming fifth studio album, Minaj called it a "game changer."
which is just re-telling what HER words are about it. It does not suggest that everyone will think the song will be a game changer or that it will be critically acclaimed. I put it in because in the article does not have any sentence at all about her upcoming fifth studio album or any details despite multiple news sources saying she's been teasing the album since 2019. Revolt Uproxx Rap-Up I don't see how what I wrote either assumes that everyone will like the album or that it will be acclaimed or it will be called the best. shanghai.talk to me 08:41, 10 September 2021 (UTC)- Also @Cullen328: English isn't even my first language (I grew up speaking it and consider myself to be native, however I am still learning it in school) so please be more understanding of my grammar issues. I changed "revealed to appear" as "revealed as a feature" which makes more sense. But do be more understanding. shanghai.talk to me 08:47, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- A neutral encyclopedia should not parrot a performer's prediction that their unreleased work will be a "game changer". That violates the WP:NPOV. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan site. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 14:39, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

This project is full of its ups and downs - taking a moment to look at the bigger picture, even if that means stepping away, is always worth it. Your contributions are appreciated and valued ~TNT (she/they • talk) 12:51, 17 September 2021 (UTC) |
- @TheresNoTime: Hey, I really appreciate your kind act and thank you very much; lately I've been having a lot of stressful wikidrama and disagreements with editors; so I'm really happy that you've extended me this act of kindness in a pretty distressing time for me. Thank you sm again <3 🥺💕 shanghai.talk to me 15:05, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

Your behaviour at Minaj
You have more than one editor opposing your edits, so you need to stop making them. I am about to revert your edit again, and basic Wikipedia rules suggest you will need consensus to re-insert it. I "haven't engaged on the talk page" because I think my edit summary was pretty obvious (also, a couple of hours is by no means long enough) and even if I do it will still be on the basis that you need to have a very good reason to remove large amounts of sourced material and then blindly revert when someone disagrees, and I don't see one yet. Black Kite (talk) 14:35, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Black Kite: I've spoken to RogueShanghai about these edits, and the whole thing at the article - they are trying really hard to work with editors to improve the article, and instead getting stonewalled continuously. I don't see an issue with the edits, but frankly that doesn't even come into it at this point. The behaviour I've seen from established editors who should know better puts me in the position of dragging this to ANI and sorting out topic bans. I'm sick of it ~TheresNoTime (to chat) 14:40, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi Rogue long time no speak. Hope you are doing well I notice you have been going through a lot lately. Stay strong. Remember: Still I rise, still I fight, still I might crack a smile. Keep your eyes on the prize, see my haters, tell 'em hi. One day you'll remember this, one day when we reminisce. Maxwell King123321 04:43, 20 October 2021 (UTC) |

- @Maxwell King123321: Wikipedia has a native email function that you can turn on using the WP:EMAIL guide. You can check which email you used to register on Wikipedia by going to Special:Preferences and looking under "email options". Turn it on now so I can email you! I agree though, Twitter can be really toxic and I haven't been on it in a while :b shanghai.talk to me 07:41, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

December 2021
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Katy Perry. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Calidum 18:03, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Trying studying WP:PERSONAL. Personal attack is defined as any comment you make on an editor who is discussing a topic, rather than the topic itself. It can be derogatory or not; that's not the point. Stick to the subject and try not to criticize/discredit editors who have different opinions. I could also use your same argument and call you biased towards Perry since you also love to edit on her articles, but I won't do that because I'm not petty or cheap. Personal attacks don't invite healthy workspaces. Do change that attitude. Regards. Ronherry (talk) 18:04, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- "Personal attacks don't invite healthy workspaces. Do change that attitude."
- @Ronherry:, You have:
- attacked me for having an Apprentice Editor badge which is quite derogatory itself
- accused me of not being able to "come up with a good sentence"
- accused me of trying to replicate Swift's article "word by word" despite there being little to no similarities between the two, at all.
- saying that if you were petty or cheap, you'd call me "biased against Perry" (which I never called you biased against Swift, I said she was one of your most edited articles)
- None of these things indicate that you are looking for a "healthy workspace." shanghai.talk to me 18:18, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- I do not owe you any explanation. I said I do not wish to engage with you hereafter. Stop pinging me or I will report you at the noticeboard for ping abuse the next time. Ronherry (talk) 18:26, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ronherry: But you are messaging me on my own talk page, why are you surprised if I reply? I am just pointing out how many of your comments that attack my badges and competency, which seem to be personal attacks contrast with your wish of a "healthy workspace". This isn't the first time you've sent such comments my way, where in the past you accused me of "not knowing what a FA is" and accused me of "hustling you", whatever that means. shanghai.talk to me 18:34, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Please don't add unsourced material as you did at Mars Argo
I'm sure that you know we require sources. I see it was removed as it didn't have a reliable source. Restoring it with a cn tag doesn't make it ok. And of course there's no rush, and if it is actually encyclopedic, it will end up being reported in reliable sources, right? Doug Weller talk 12:58, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: You have to understand the context of the person in question. Mars Argo/Brittany Sheets is an indie rock act that barely got any media attention during when she was actually active as an artist, and she was really only surrounded by media attention during the 2018 lawsuit against her former collaborator's new protege Poppy. In 2018, in the same letter where she announced that she was going to court for the things that her former collaborator did to her, she promised new music.
- "Angry" leaking in 2021 is the only news even remotely close to that at all, but because she's an indie act, that may not be covered any time soon. "Reliable sources" report on indie acts far less than those signed with a traditional record label or under a management team. It's definitely encyclopedic to keep it in her article, but because of the context sources may not always come going like it would for traditional non indie acts. shanghai.talk to me 13:13, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sure you are right about rs and indie acts, but I can't see how it's encyclopedic without several reliable sources discussing it. It may be fascinating and important to fans, but that's not our role. Doug Weller talk 13:20, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: It's a singular sentence. It isn't an entire paragraph talking about the thing, it's just one sentence, and it definitely belongs in her article. I don't see much harm in mentioning "a song of hers leaked" when it's honestly one of the very few things that has actually happened post lawsuit in relation to the article subject at hand. shanghai.talk to me 13:28, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- Go ask at WP:BLPN then, as that seems to be the appropriate noticeboard. Doug Weller talk 13:33, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
