Netherlands official language

[edit]

Hi. Do you perhaps have references to such (authoritative) articles about Frisian having the same official status in the whole country as Dutch? The references in the infobox refer to official websites of the government and I doubt they are out of date. The law that comes closest to defining Dutch as the official language is the AWB, article 2:6. That law in its current form is valid since 09-11-2018 until this day. Previously, Frisian was explicitly mentioned in that law, but only in relation to Friesland. Any current law that I could find that defines Frisian as an official language only does so for the province of Friesland explicitly, such as the Wet gebruik Friese taal (valid since 01-01-2014 until this day).

That last law indeed defines some privileges outside Friesland, but there are strict conditions under which Frisian may be used in those cases. Usage of Frisian in courts outside Friesland is only allowed in the courts of Noord-Nederland and Arnhem-Leeuwarden, but only if the person lives in or is based in Friesland. Another privilege is to take an oath in Frisian anywhere outside Friesland. But that's about it. You can therefore hardly say that it has the same status in the whole of the Netherlands as Dutch. It's not relevant whether Frisian has an official status in the entire Netherlands, or just part of it. There's no discussion possible that Frisian is an official language in the Netherlands, and that's why the Frisian form should be named in the article. Kûkherne moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Kûkherne, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Cut the crap. It's literally the same article as the Dutch one PDZ124169 (talk) 18:19, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
