[edit]Hello, I'm Jolielover. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Lycamobile seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. jolielover♥talk 11:35, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Lycamobile, you may be blocked from editing. jolielover♥talk 11:42, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Allow me to add addtionla business success P.arachchige (talk) 11:44, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello P.arachchige. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Lycamobile, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:P.arachchige. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=P.arachchige|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. jolielover♥talk 11:44, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- I am not paid to do any of these changers, I know this business well and been working in telco for over 23 years. P.arachchige (talk) 11:51, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello, P.arachchige. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Lycamobile, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. jolielover♥talk 11:55, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

With this series of edits, you have continued to add content that violates Wikipedia's neutrality policy, and you have not entered into the realm of edit warring. Please stop editing the article, and enter into a discussion (not here, but at Talk:Lycamobile) as to why you feel the current content is in need of editing. Please be prepared to show, with citations, why the current content is incorrect or why your content is better. And please provide suggested content that does not sound like marketing literature published by Lycamobile themselves. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:05, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising, as you did at Lycamobile. CR (talk) 13:12, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

- There is no update. Your account is blocked and you have not requested an unblock, as described in the block notice. Unless you appeal your block in the manner described above, there will be no further action. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:01, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

- Yep, under the first warning notice account says "we want to showcase positve things", and later below says they (I think) have been working at the company for over 20 years. They also removed some criticisms of the company on the page violating WP:NOTCENSORED. jolielover♥talk 16:07, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- You have misunderstood, I have been working in telco for over 20 years. P.arachchige (talk) 16:52, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Your career in telco is immaterial. Your editing at Lycamobile served solely to add promotional material to the article. You ignored several warnings from multiple users that your editing was problematic and needed to be discussed. That is why you were blocked. And if you don't understand the difference between facts and promotion, it is unlikely that you will be unblocked. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:58, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
