Question from Blakewarn (15:38, 29 October 2024)
Hello,
I am in the process of updating an article to feature my company's new logo. As I prepare to upload this image, I want to ensure it is protected under copyright. What is the best way to upload this new logo? While I've come across Wikimedia Commons, I prefer not to grant permission for others to use the logo. Are there alternative methods to achieve this?
Thank you --Blakewarn (talk) 15:38, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hey there! That is completely possible, and shouldn't be too much trouble. First, read the policy page on non-free content, and make sure the logo upload complies with everything there. That should also give you a better understanding about how this logo will be used on Wikipedia. Then, you can proceed to uploading the logo as a non-free asset with the file upload wizard. Happy editing! OnlyNanotalk 17:05, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
Question from STspeech&hearing (10:39, 31 October 2024)
Thanks for the support, to start with i would like to know about the options in saving the edit.... there are options like permanent and different durations. How do i choose them? Regards --STspeech&hearing (talk) 10:39, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hey there! I do not completely understand what you're asking, so I will do my best in my response. When you make an edit on Wikipedia, it is permanent, until it is changed by another editor (such as being removed if it's unconstructive, or another user, later down the line, decides to change up your wording). I have not seen anything about choosing duration for an edit to be live. Hope this helps, and let me know if you need any further help! OnlyNanotalk 17:07, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from Godwinetakibuebu on Wikipedia:Contents (09:56, 2 November 2024)
Hello. I just signed up on Wikipedia. I want to post an article - A biograpghy about myself - Godwin Etakibuebu (veteran Journalist in Nigeria). How do I go about this. --Godwinetakibuebu (talk) 09:56, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hey there! I would highly discourage doing this, as from doing a Google search is not pulling up any reliable sources that demonstrate notability of you as an individual. Established notability is required for an article to be published. Even if there were sources to demonstrate notability, this might not be the best thing for you as a person, trying to (and I'm guessing here) promote yourself as a person. There's a great page on this: An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions! OnlyNanotalk 15:24, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Restore my sourced contributions to the Transition Integrity Project, excluding the "conspiracy theory" label
I understand the term "conspiracy theory" is charged, but I would like to state for the record you removed entirely relevant content carte-blanche without even so much as a talk page or explanation. You didn't review the sources, you didn't outline inaccuracies. You didn't explain why you felt I was "unconstructive" even though I clarified several inaccuracies in the article, and then subsequently, you gave your rationale on my talk page, such as it was, that it was because of that label. I understand that you added a template in, but to suggest I should mess around in the sandbox when all of the content was referenced -- not entirely in good faith.
Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. You nuked a bunch of edits I feel are useful because (A) I'm an IP address and (B) because you objected to the term "conspiracy theory". I sourced that, the reference was GPAHE. If that was the reason, you could have reverted a single edit. You don't like that, fine, discuss it in the talk page, revert the term and I'd happily have updated it or discussed it as I am now. 2806:2F0:5680:F7E2:F40E:7EE0:4E9:7E1D (talk) 21:02, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
