Can I get your opinion about the way Template:Worcester County politicians is being used? It has been added to the settlement articles in Worcester County, Massachusetts, and in most instances it appears to overpower the article. Most of the details in the template, such as the name of the county sheriff, are unnecessary per WP:USCITIES#Government. The template also disrupts the layout of articles, such as at Bolton, Massachusetts, and adds a layer of complexity for anyone wishing to update the information. I think this is a place where plain text would be preferred, but wanted a second opinion. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 09:27, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Unreviewed
Just got your message - wondering why that page was unreviewed. It's the proper page for UEFA, and from my experience all domain name redirects are a valid reason for their creation. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 01:53, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Semmendinger - because I screwed up. Was in the process of leaving a message on your talk page when I got notification of this message. When I used the curator tools, it didn't seem to be reviewed, so I clicked, just as I realized it said, "Unreview". My apologies. Onel5969 TT me 01:55, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

personal statement
Hi sorry I don't understand what you mean, everything (for example, the plot summary and so on) in this page are directly translated from the cited webpage, do you mean I need to put a quotation mark on all lines or what to do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bblueberry (talk • contribs) 11:12, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Bblueberry - articles should have footnotes. WP:CIT and WP:CITE are good guidelines to read. Especially quotes. If you quote something you must have a citation. And it needs to be formatted properly so that other researchers can attest to its validity. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 11:17, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your quick reply, shall I put quotation marks before the reference links? Or is there any sample page you could advise me to take a look so I can understand what you mean by footnote? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bblueberry (talk • contribs) 11:22, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Bblueberry - WP:QUOTE, and MOS:QUOTEMARKS are two good items to read about quotes and formatting. Off the top of my head, since it passed GA status, you can always take a look at Phoenix, Arizona, and the style of quotations there. Onel5969 TT me 11:45, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

- Hi. In my opinion, no. First delete EVERYTHING that uses Facebook, Twitter, YouTube as a source. None of them are reliable sources. Then remove stuff that comes directly from him. Other than the interaction with the singer, nothing stands out in the sourcing as in-depth coverage about him. Since the article was just deleted through an AfD discussion, there should be some recent events which push this person into the notable column. I'm not seeing anything like that in the last few months. Sorry. Onel5969 TT me 13:09, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

FT8 revert
Hello Onel5969, please, let me disagree with your revert on the [FT8] page. FT8 as protocol must have a dedicated page with more details as such. The redirect of a protocol to a software application is not correct. The FT8 is a communication protocol commonly associated to the WSJT-X, the most famous software program that implements it but they are distinct entities. They have a relationship similar to the PSK31 or Olivia_MFSK protocols and the fldigi application software that, correctly, have dedicated articles. If this clarify, I will restore my edit creating the contest to specific protocol information. Of course, I remain available for any further information you may need. Very kind regards ----FabC (talk) 13:02, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
Harry Chapin What Made America Famous review
Hey there, I saw that you reviewed my page. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I haven't fully learned about the review system. So, my question is how exactly do I see the review that you left? Thanks. Citybuild122 (talk) 14:30, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Citybuild122- I actually had the privilege of working with Mr. Chapin for one day when he was giving one of his charity concerts in Riverdale NY back in either late 79 or early 80 (it's a shame I can't remember the exact date). He was a very cool guy, and got to speak with him pretty in-depth during the day and at dinner. That a page is "reviewed" simply means that an editor who has enough experience has taken a look at your article. Sometimes the reviewer will leave a message on your talk page, if there's something specific they fell needs work, or sometimes simply to tell you "nice job". Sometimes the reviewer will simply "tag" the article with any issues they see, like "needs more references", "needs copyedit", "POV issues", etc. In this instance, I didn't really see anything wrong with the article (with the very minor issue of the first reference being malformed - which I just now fixed), so didn't tag it or leave a message. It's more than a stub, a true "start" article. The only possible issue with it might be one of notability, so if you can find more references from independent reliable sources, that would be a good thing. Hope this helps and keep up the good work. Onel5969 TT me 14:45, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the reply. That is amazing that you were fortunate enough to work with him. I was born 2 decades after his death, so I didn't have the privilege of seeing him, however I am a very strong admirer of his work. I have also put some edits into the main Harry Chapin page, and have created a couple articles about his songs. I truly find it amazing what he was able to accomplish in his very short musical career. Citybuild122 (talk) 14:57, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

Dear Onel5969 you shouldn't tag the article as speedy deletion, you may put any other tag like promotional content but you shouldn't de-motivate new users by deleting the article. I am kindly requesting you to help this article improve or remove promotional content. Can you please tell the exact words, line or section that is promotional so that i could fix it.TheGrandSon (talk) 12:22, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi TheGrandSon. Other than the lead, most of the rest of the article is simply a promotional brochure. It simply advertises the locations and products of the company. Even the history section is written in a promotional manner. The second line of the history section is okay, and the advisory council is fine. If you would like, I can move it into draftspace so that you can work on it. Onel5969 TT me 12:26, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Fixing the mentioned ambiguity
Firstly, I appreciate you for denoting the ambiguity in the article of Al-Atabat Al-Aliyat
Secondly, I fixed it --removed its ambiguity by adding/eliminating related statements.
Thirdly, Atabat-Aliyat is an Islamic phrase/expression which means the whole of 6 shrines which are in 4 cities of Iran (altogether), so I hope the edited version is more clear. Ali Ahwazi (talk) 12:26, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Ali Ahwazi - Nice job. It's something I've done myself in the past, you understand the material so well, that you think everyone has your level of understanding. Your changes now make understanding the meaning much clearer to someone, like me, without your level of knowledge of the subject. Onel5969 TT me 12:31, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
your civility
I do not know whether it was intentional, but your item 50 above - not once trolling at that AFD raises my estimation of you. The sadder Afds are where eds seem to reflect a severe sense of antipathy towards contrary arguments and have a need to venture in. You didnt, and even beared with my comments at your talk with restraint. Thanks for that, the Australian biota project is the better for what I interpret as your civility - may it serve you well. JarrahTree 12:54, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks JarrahTree - I appreciate that. I don't have an agenda, other than attempting to make the project better in some small way. I made my point with my nomination, and let the conversation flow. That doesn't mean that if an editor had written something I disagreed with I wouldn't have chimed in, but the AfD simply progressed so there was no need for me to make any additional comments. On AfD's which go contrary to my nom, probably 75% of them I don't disagree with the outcome, and usually the article in question has been improved to the point where I wouldn't have nominated it in the first place. Hopefully, we're all working together towards improving this resource. Take care and happy editing. Onel5969 TT me 13:26, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

You deleted my page and now i can't find it. You could have at least moved it back to draft so i had a chance to edit accordingly. It took me a long time to learn how to draft on in the first place.
The reason i drafted the page in the first place is because i received many request from schools kids in the area about the areas history for their project. I can still work on it but i can you please reinstate to draft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UPCSB (talk • contribs) 08:14, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Also advice on how to fix it would be good.
- Hi UPCSB - I don't delete articles. I tagged your article for deletion because it was simply a promotional page, which is against Wikipedia guidelines. If you ask the admin who deleted it, unless there are other issues with it I don't know about, they should be willing to reinstate it as a draft so that you could work on it. Since it is deleted, I can't look at it, and therefore other than the promotional aspect, I can't give you any specific advice on how to fix it. Onel5969 TT me 10:31, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

I've checked the article again but can't see what I missed. Would you please give me some advice on this. Thanks. Stretchrunner (talk) 13:33, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Stretchrunner - In the history, the first paragraph is uncited. The chronology is uncited. The race distances are uncited. The records section is wholly uncited, as is the lengthy winner's table. The second sentence of the lead is uncited. While no references are required in the lead, that's only if the information is included, and cited, within the body of the article, which this isn't. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 14:13, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Sepik F.C.
Howdy! Thanks for reviewing both University Inter F.C. and Sepik F.C.. I'm attempting to improve the coverage of PNG football clubs on Wikipedia, and as such there's several pages that I'll be creating in the future. I appreciate your tagging of the Sepik page for notability, but given the side have played in PNG's highest level of competitive football, I'd argue that all clubs who have done so are notable enough to be included here on WP. Take the page Besta Madang Fighters for example - they too only competed once in the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, but have had a page up (which I've just improved) since 2008. Let me know if you think my efforts are fruitless/pointless! MrMarkBGregory (talk) 16:06, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

Notability tag on Dazhuang
The article Dazhuang, Hualian County, Taiwan was tagged a Notability tag and asked to cite "reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond its mere trivial mention", which I don't understand why? The sources provided include the official page from the Hualian County Government, a book written by three Japanese linguists, and a book published by Department of Cultural Affairs of Hualian County. Are these not enough? -Benson Fang (talk) 22:43, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Not in my opinion. Two of those are primary sources. These show that the place exists, but not that it meets notability criteria. Not being a speaker of Chinese, I tagged it to allow someone with expertise in the language to ascertain those sources. Onel5969 TT me 22:47, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Both Linguistics Materials of the Formosan Sinicized Populations I: Siraya and Basai and 大庄平埔西拉雅族文物圖說與民俗植物圖誌 are secondary sources, if you've ever read them; the former one was the compilation and review by Tsuchida and his colleagues in 1991 based on a secondary source by Yoshinori in 1917 (who in turn compiled the source based many primary sources written between 1850s-1910s), and the later contains the author's reviews to many primary sources on the village written between 19-20th century. In my opinion, the tag should be added by someone who has at least a merest knowledge on the page, especially when it comes to a potential deletion of the page. -Benson Fang (talk) 23:17, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

No. 23 Elementary Flying Training School - Redirect Page
Good morning, you reverted several edits that I had made on the No. 23 Elementary Flying Training School redirect page. First edit I had made was completely documented and made for good reason, as in the School was never in Davidson, Saskatchewan. The second edit though maybe a little confusing was also made for good reason. No. 23 Elementary Flying Training School was originally established at RCAF Station Davidson, in January of 1945 they moved the school to RCAF Station Yorkton. I am curious how would you would handle this situation?
Neither of the Stations had pages until the last few days and I am trying to sort out the links in order to best reflect the changes and allow people to accurately find the information.

notability tag
You added the notability tag to the Mered Medhanie article, with no explanation or further discussion. I invite you to detail your specific concerns on the talk page, so we can improve the article to meet your standards. In the meanwhile, I will remove the tag so the page doesn't get deleted before you have had the opportunity to start the discussion. I am writing this to emphasize that I am treating your edit as a good-faith one and not as drive-by tagging, and that I am not dismissing your concerns. Please feel free to re-add the tag once you have explained your reasons for adding it. I can even offer to revert my deletion myself, once we can make constructive improvements. Regards CapnZapp (talk) 11:46, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- First, there is no requirement that I "explain" why I added the notability tag. If you remove it without improvement, I will re-add it. Second, I am concerned about the "we" you mention above. Who is this "we"? WP accounts are for individuals, not groups, and creating one for a group is a violation of WP policy. I tagged it because I am uncertain if this individual passes notability criteria, and want someone with more expertise in that area to review the article. That would be someone without a connection, like yourself, to the article. Right now, it appears to be a case of WP:BIO1E, as the only claim to fame is the potential mis-identity. Onel5969 TT me 11:52, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello Onel5969. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Ziggeo, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G11: Not unambiguously promotional. Seems reasonably neutral. Thank you. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 17:33, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

1942 in Singapore - Article yyyy in country
Hi~
I understand the major event for the year 1942 in Singapore is the Japanese occupation in Singapore. However, as part of the list of years in Singapore, I changed it to the format similar of 1965 in Singapore.
As I understand, Article yyyy in country is meant to provide a summarised view of events for that particular year in that country, redirecting it to the main event article defeats the purpose. For example, Adnan Saidi perished in 14 February 1942 during the Battle of Singapore, a war memorial is built to honor him, a feature film Leftenan Adnan (Malay for Lieutenant) featuring him as the main character.
With the above information, is that sufficient to revert it back to yyyy in country format?
Thanks -Xaiver0510 (talk) 01:44, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Xaiver0510 - I don't think there's any hard and fast rule, but in my opinion, as soon as there are two items, it becomes a valid list. A single item warrants a redirect to that particular item. Onel5969 TT me 02:20, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Will keep that in mind, so if I am to add on other items, I guess we can keep to to the yyyy in country format? Will add on other significant events before making the changes. -Xaiver0510 (talk) 03:58, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:18, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Resubmit article for AfD
Sorry but the last AfD was a really unfair one as only one person voted to delete the article. Really the AfD vote was even. And yes the AfD was closed as delete but it should't have been. The Optimistic One (talk) 19:14, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- AfD's are not votes. An AfD can have 10 editors vote !keep, and if their arguments are spurious, as the single !keep vote at this AfD was, then they will be discounted. If you felt it was unfair you should follow the proper procedure as per WP:DELREV, and not engage in an edit war. Onel5969 TT me 19:18, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- I gave the reason on another AfD nomination as said on that one. Sorry about that, i'm very thankful that you were kind enough to resubmit the AfD and for that i am very pleased. Again, thanks. The Optimistic One (talk) 19:24, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Hello
I notice you deleted the article I wrote for this character, with the edit summary "Restore redirect - no notability outside novels established". In fact the notability was asserted in the first paragraph; Brunetti is the subject of more than two dozen novels, and a similar number of (admittedly German) TV films, so there is the same notability for him as for any of these others, and perhaps more so than many of them.
Also, I put in the novel refs so that people would know the observations were from the author's head, rather than from my own, but there's no shortage of references, as you might have seen. If the problem was only with the references, wouldn't it have been more civil to leave one of the “add references” tag, if you didn't want to look for them yourself?
Anyway, I've re-instated the article, with some other refs that might be more to your taste; if you still dislike it I suggest you open an AfD discussion saying why, rather than going for this back-door deletion process.
I've also added an explanation of why I've put the article there, for your (and everyone else's) information. Regards, Swanny18 (talk) 21:54, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. First of all, the article wasn't deleted, it was turned into a redirect to the author. Second, all of what you say above is irrelevant. The fact that other articles which are similar exist is called WP:OSE, and is not a good article. References are fine, but to show a fictional character is notable, you have to show that he is notable outside the fictional world in which he exists. Fictional bios should have in-depth, well-sourced character development sections, or it should show the evolution of the character and have lots of critical discussion on the character, for example. One of the best examples is the The Doctor (Doctor Who). It can be taken to AfD, where it will be deleted, but why waste other editors' time? Onel5969 TT me 10:26, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

- Hi Kudpung - Not going to get into an edit war with you, but I'm simply not seeing major issues with the translations in any of these articles. Run-on sentences occasionally, but not to the extent you seem to be seeing them. To me, an article like Champs-Bruley cemetery is one that is truly a rough translation, almost to the point of unintelligibility. However, regardless, I thought the view was to tag them with what needed improvement, unless we feel like working on them ourselves. Not sure why you are unreviewing them. Clearly, they meet notability criteria. Clearly you feel they need more work on their grammar. Yet I feel they clearly should remain in mainspace. Take care. Onel5969 TT me 14:17, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- Then please at least complete all the tasks associated with New Page Patrolling and notify the author. Pages like this will almost never attract the attention of other users, and they just make work for me and everyone else. Serial mass production of poor translations is neither in the spirit of article creation just for increasing the number of a users creations, nor boosting the the number of a patroller's reviews. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:28, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- That's a good point. I didn't realize that when I tagged an article using the curate tool, that no message was sent to the article's creator. I thought that only occurred when I simply hit "reviewed", and didn't choose to leave a particular message. In the future, I'll make sure I leave a message in the text box. However, in this instance, I disagree with your assessment that they are poor translations. While they may be awkward in spots, but they seem to be pretty coherent to me. Regardless, take care. Onel5969 TT me 14:32, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- The Curation feed never sends a message to the creator unless you write one (except deletion tags and 'not English'). Many patrollers believe that a simple automated message should be posted on a creator's talk page as soon as an article is marked as 'patroled', while another auto message could be sent if the patrol has involved a maintenance tagging. These are Curation features that are urgently needed. Currently however, most patrollers can't be bothered to manually do either, which leads to accepted, but perma-tagged articles - another reason why we stress that New Page Patrolling should be a process of depth and accuracy rather than speed. . I realised I did a wrongful edit when I blanked https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Unregistered_design_right&redirect=no. Apologies for that, I'm not that familiar with the correct procedure. Thanks for reverting. Unregistered designs do not only occur in the UK, the article should be removed instead of redirected to design rights (United Kingdom). Autopatrol broken
Please be aware that the autopatrol userright is broken, so new articles by editors such as myself are showing up in recent changes when they shouldn't. Abductive (reasoning) 14:34, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- Abductive - Thanks... I realized that yesterday when I "reviewed" a page by Lugnuts (see above). So what I'm doing now is checking user contributions, and clicking on a creation pre-6/28. If the editor should not be showing up on the NPP, I'm simply doing a courtesy "review", so it comes off the list. Thanks for the heads up. Onel5969 TT me 14:45, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
