What an article needs
[edit]If an article is to be kept, it needs more than a few words. It needs to explain why its subject is important or significant enough to have an article in an encyclopedia. Just being "a footballer" is not enough - there are millions of footballers. The notability standard for footballers is explained at WP:NFOOTY. If the player concerned has played in an international match, or for a team in a fully-professional league, you need to say so.
Also, if the article is to be kept, you need to give a reference to a reliable source to confirm what it says. Unsourced articles about living persons are liable to be deleted after seven days.
