Having a quick look at the draft revealed several 'url value' reference-error msgs. These turned out to be malformatted links to Wikipedia pages. Unfortunately Wikipedia cannot be used as a reference per WP:UGC. I have tagged where the refs have been removed as 'citation needed'. I have not gone as far as rejecting the draft as it otherwise seems OK. Would suggest that replacement refs be added ASAP as it could be reviewed by another AfC participant at any time. Eagleash (talk) 06:36, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For sure I will replace those references. After replacing them what should I do to get it published? Here I mean to say that which indication will let the editro know that this is ready to be reviewed and published? Thanks for your help again Omer Canon (talk) 06:43, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Any update on this? Omer Canon (talk) 09:52, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

August 2019: Production, costs, and pricing

[edit]

Hello, Omer. I notice that you are working on a draft called Draft:Production, costs, and pricing. You mentioned that you found your article's title on the list of requested Wikipedia articles. I thought that was an unusual article request, so I looked back in Wikipedia history to discover how it got onto the list.

It all started back in September, 2006, when an editor (who left Wikipedia in 2008) made this edit to Management. The editor only edited that article one time, and, in my opinion, the edit they made was very awkward. I don't believe they were proposing that an article called production,_costs,_and_pricing should be written. In fact, the word "pricing" was already in the passage they edited.

The reason I have brought all this up is that an article such as your draft will not be accepted for inclusion in Wikipedia. Encyclopedia articles are typically confined to a single topic. To write Draft:Production, costs, and pricing in a useful form, you would have to include all the ways that production, costs and pricing influence one another, which would be a book-length effort. Wikipedia already has Production (economics), Cost and Pricing, which cover their individual subjects at some depth. Imagine trying to write an article called Mass, energy and time. It would be very long and not popular.

I feel rather bad that the automated systems that run Wikipedia set you up to waste your time on an impossible article. It seems to me that the list of requested articles should be reviewed by an actual human from time to time, and a few of those red links erased. Not everything can be a Wikipedia article.--Quisqualis (talk) 02:39, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Omer Canon. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See WP:PAID.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Request reason:

I am unable to understand why I have been blocked from Wikipedia? Not even in a single article, I have promoted any person any product or anything else. In fact, I am writing from a neutral viewpoint and there is no intention to promote any person. I have mentioned no links in my articles of any website, product or anything else. It is requested to please unblock my account as I am not promoting anything. My only aim is to become a good Wikipedia editor and that is why I am trying on new topics for approval. My article 'Paul Ling Tai' was recently deleted but I am not able to find even a single promotional thing in it. It was identified in a review that I should remove some words which I did but then again it was deleted. My article on 'dedicated.com' is not getting approved and every time I am getting the same comments regarding notability. There are some articles written by different people which I have referenced. Still, I am not getting a positive response. I do not have any intentions to promote any product or person. I do not write any promotional articles or promotional words in my articles. Please, it's my humble request to unblock my account and please re-consider my articles for approval. I once again appeal that I am not a promoter or advertiser. I am not connected to any subjects of my articles. I just write from a neutral viewpoint. The positive response from your end will be appreciated. ThanksOmer Canon (talk) 04:32, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You don't have to have monetary gain to have a conflict of interest. You say that you are not connected with Dr. Tai and then go on to say how you are connected to him. That, combined with your use of promotional language ("renowned," "celebrated," "successfully," etc.) while saying that you aren't, leads me to think there is either more to this than you are telling, or you are too close to your subjects to see what you are doing incorrectly. Either way, the block should not be removed, and I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:50, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What is your connection to the subjects, such as Dr. Tai, that you have written about? 331dot (talk) 08:06, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @331dot as I have mentioned above that I do not have any connections to any of my articles' subjects. As far as Prof. Tai is concerned, he visited a medical institute where I use to work and I handled his visit and coordination. Due to familiarity, I decided to write about him and asked him for his consent. I do not have any monetary benefits in writing this. Similarly, dedicated.com is a VPS provider company located in the USA where one of my friends work and he asked me if I can write a profile for his company. One again I am not getting any monetary benefit for writing any of the articles.

Because, as I said above that I wanted to become a good contributor and editor of Wikipedia that is why I agreed to write articles for these people. You can also see my initial contributions such as 'History of Coffee', 'Fish Breeding', 'Production/costing/pricing' (this I took from the most wanted list of Wikipedia) articles. These topics have nothing to do with the promotion of anything or have any relation with me as these are very general topics. This proofs that I am not interested in specifically writing for any personality, any company, instead I write for people or company which will allow me to do it. I understand that writing without consent is unethical and of course, I do not have any information about any random personality or company.

It is my humble request once again to review my articles and please approve them as there is no intention at all to promote anything. I have not even used promotional terms, links or any products of any person or company in my articles. Please reconsider your decision and retrieve and approve my articles along with granting me permission to contribute more to Wikipedia.

Hoping a positive response from your end. Thanks.

Omer Canon (talk) 08:39, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if this is your decision then I have nothing to say as you people are the decision-makers and you have all the rights to assume and think on your own. Thanks for your cooperation. But I am highly disappointed.
