SWT GA Review
[edit]Hello,
This is just to let you know that I'll be taking a look at Salem Witch Trials and evaluating it against the GA criteria. I've left some preliminary comments on the talk page and invite you to take a look. Thanks! --Malachirality (talk) 01:53, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I'm GA reviewing Armstrong Sperry. I haven't read the article yet so it will be about two days before the review is complete. Please note though that the article does not conform to WP:Lead. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 15:53, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 19:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:Swift, Jane.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Swift, Jane.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:26, 31 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Tom (talk - email) 14:26, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Arresting a witch
[edit]Hi, I want to use this picture [1] for the cover of my new book - Justice at Salem - http://www.justiceatsalem.com [2] , but I am told that it needs to be at least 250-300 dpi. Do you have a higher quality one that you could send me?
Thanks. --Courtdog (talk) 01:52, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:JerkyTurkey titlecard.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:JerkyTurkey titlecard.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [3], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ww2censor (talk) 03:34, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:MarvelTeamUpVol1No42.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MarvelTeamUpVol1No42.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:35, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Bernard J. Rosenthal (sculptor), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Bernard Rosenthal. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:53, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
The article Bernard Rosenthal (scholar) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Salem Witch Trials under GA review
[edit]The article on the Salem Witch Trials is currently undergoing a GA review. As a listed member of the Salem Witch Trials Task Force, I thought you would be interested in knowing. John Carter (talk) 17:08, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
The article John Alden (sailor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:GNG and no inherent notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TM 15:33, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:UnknownWorlds 18.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:UnknownWorlds 18.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. Disambiguation link notification for December 1
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Michaela Pavlátová, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Czech (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Photo of Salem Parsonage You Uploaded
[edit]Hi there. I don't believe the photo of the parsonage in Salem Village here is actually the parsonage. Per a Virginia University historical site here, the house was torn down in 1784, so this picture from 1892 must be of another building. I have checked the Google Books version of Witchcraft Illustrated but have had no luck finding this photo. Do you have any more info? Maybe I'm missing something regarding the dates, or which specific building the picture is of. I also included a little note about this on the talk page for Salem Witch Trials. Thanks! Speedy deletion nomination of William Bryant (artist)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on William Bryant (artist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Sionk (talk) 18:50, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Proposal for the Creation of an Animation Barnstar
[edit]Hi, Ogram. I noticed that you are a member of the Animation WikiProject and wanted to share a proposal with you. There have been several times that I have wanted to award an Animation Barnstar to a fellow editor, only to be disappointed that one still doesn't exist. The closest thing that we have right now is the Film Barnstar, but this is only applicable in certain situations, since animation can be found in both film and television. I would like to see an Animation Barnstar become a reality; especially since one already exists for the sub-topic of Anime and Manga. In order for this to become official though, a consensus will have to be reached.
If this is something that you would be interested in supporting, then please let me know on my talk page, as I am sending this message to all of the members of the Animation WikiProject and will not be adding each editor's talk page to my watchlist.
I am also looking for someone who would be able to provide a design for the barnstar. If you have any ideas for this, then please do not hesitate to share them with me. :) --Jpcase (talk) 03:28, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
