If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sensory, inc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. A tag has been placed on Sensory, Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Sensory, Inc.. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Nomination of Sensory, Inc. for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sensory, Inc. is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sensory, Inc. until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Gaijin42 (talk) 23:09, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Gaijin42 (talk) 23:10, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have upgraded the deletion nomination to a speedy deletion under CSD G4: "A sufficiently identical and unimproved copy, having any title, of a page deleted via its most recent deletion discussion.[3] This excludes pages that are not substantially identical to the deleted version, pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies, and content moved to user space for explicit improvement (but not simply to circumvent Wikipedia's deletion policy). This criterion also excludes content undeleted via deletion review, or which was deleted via proposed deletion or speedy deletion (although in that case the previous speedy criterion, or other speedy criteria, may apply)."--Ctoshw (talk) 23:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

warning explination

[edit]

Your sensory page has been deleted multiple times under the criteria of not notable, and advertizing at least 3 times. This means that at least 6 people have this opinion, and you keep recreating. Additionally you are scattering links to sensory inc throughout other pages, which hints at Wikipedia:Spam. (this is a narrow path, as wikilinking of a legitimate article is certainly desired where appropriate). After multiple warnings of this type, the threats become more severe. If you believe the page is truly worthy, then post on the deletion review board, or in the new articles for deletion discussion, rather than just recreating. Gaijin42 (talk) 23:27, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Part of your problem is momentum. Once you get legitimately nailed under g11/a7, then there is a presumption that recreation is probably still invalid. The repeated re-creation, without any discussion triggers "defensive" instinct in editors and admins that you (justly or not) are flaunting wikipedia rules for gain. The key to survival is WP:RS you need to find articles talking about the company, preferably in detail (not just mentioning the company in passing while talking about a product, or person, or other company). The more you can find, the better off. Now, because you are so passionate about this article, it makes me think you probably have some relation to the company, as an employee, PR, relative, etc. This raises possible WP:COI issues. If you do have COI, then it would be better to propose this article via Articles for Creation and let someone unrelated create the article. Gaijin42 (talk) 13:39, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. I get it and I understand. It’s a rookie mistake. However, it’s good there are so many safeguards within the Wikipedia community and for Wikipedia. Having propaganda material and content serves no purpose.

I’m not associated with or work for the company at all and as far as what can I say I’m a passion it person. However, I can recognize that as a concern as well. I work in the tech industry and I was recently discussing the topic of speech activation and control technologies with colleagues. I went to Wikipedia to gather information I was actually surprise there wasn’t an entry for Sensory so being the Wikipedia enthusiast I am, I thought it would be in order and helpful to enter them.

Thanks for the guidance. Octavius SV (talk) 02:29, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, in that situation, I am sorry that this is the experience you have had. I believe that sensory inc is probably important, but unfortunately our rules are based on notability (in 3rd party sources) not importance. If you can find a few magazine or newspaper artciels more discussing the company, I think the article could be preserved. Let me know if you have further questions or need help. I will follow your talk page, so you can respond here, but if I dont answer feel free to post on my talk page again. Gaijin42 (talk) 02:47, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've add some references to trade journals and other magazines/publications. I'll trying scan for more sources to add. Octavius SV 05:45, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Countries Applying Biometrics

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Countries Applying Biometrics. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Biometrics. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Biometrics - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Evanh2008 (talk|contribs) 07:20, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please disregard this. I've removed the tag. Melchoir (talk) 07:42, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, Octavius, it would help if you tagged your edits with edit summaries to describe what you're doing, especially when removing large chunks of text from an article. That way, other users will be less likely to misunderstand. There's more information at Help:Edit summary. Thanks, (talk) 07:49, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Melchoir Thank you for the guidance. I'll use edit summaries in the future. I made a note on the Biometrics talk page but I see how it's easier and better to use summaries. Best, ~ Oct. Octavius SV 06:55, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
