Hello! Please don't directly edit the {{wider attention list}}, as the bot will just steamroll all over edits made to the page. You can get it listed, though, by tagging the bot request with {{wider attention|VshBot → O (bot)}} MessedRocker (talk) 05:11, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

please finish your revisions. The green construction tag should be temporairly be post, and they should be finished as soon as possible. And don't just leave us work you don't think we can do. Peer review comments
I've commented at Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways/Peer review/U.S. Route 322 in New Jersey. I'm particularly interested in the "American Highways" publication (or is it a newsletter?); it could be very useful for many articles. --NE2 23:35, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- You're gonna need to ask JA10 about that, as I don't have it. (→O - RLY?) 23:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Route 40
I undid your edit thinking it was my own mistake. I don't think the text has to flow between the two tables: it is not recommended to have text between both left and right floats. Also, if the text does flow that way, the image placement is messed up. Geometry guy 18:40, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

PA 19
Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Deciding to disambiguate: "Ask yourself: When a reader enters this term in the Wikipedia search box and pushes "Go", what article would they most likely be expecting to view as a result?" It is more likely that someone will mistakenly call US 19 PA 19 (even PennDOT does it) than be looking for information on the obscure 1920s route. --NE2 00:42, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm talking about signing errors. --NE2 00:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
I know why you're doing it, and I know it's wrong. Disambiguation pages should be used when there is no one thing that a reader that types in the term will be looking for.
By the way, PennDOT does make signage errors: [1] They also make errors on their website: [2] --NE2 01:11, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- What's the deal with Pennsylvania Route 39 (1920s). There's no references for the article, and I'm not sure where to look. I've looked in maps, but I haven't had any luck finding anything. Please respond on my talk page. Thanks! --Son 22:11, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks for operating the BUPC while I was at CTY, right now I am trying to restart my new life after losing my password. Now I shall recruit some judges for the Tounament of Champions. Do you think the Jimbo Wales might judge? I shall try to recruit him. Marlith 00:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Making Maps for State Routes
How can I be able to make maps for state routes (in my case, Pennsylvania)?
I was gonna try and do it for a few of the pages I am watching over, but dont know how to do it without messing something up. Thanks Whammies Were Here (PYLrulz) 19:41, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Unusual Adoption Request
Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.
Thank you!

Thank you for your opposition of my recent unsuccsessful rfa, which concluded today with a final tally of 22/15/3. The comments and suggestions from this rfa, combined with the comments left during my first rfa, have given me a good idea of where I need improvement. —TomStar81 (Talk) 05:30, 28 July 2007 (UTC) |

Thank you for your support at my recent Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Angus Lepper RfA, which failed, with no consensus to promote me. However, I appreciate the concerns raised during the course of the discussion (most notably, a lack of experience, particularly in admin-heavy areas such as XfDs and policy discussions) and will attempt to address these before possibly standing again in several months time. Arbitration request for User:NE2
Good evening. An arbitration request has been opened for NE2. I have placed you as an involved party as you have recently been involved in NE2's past RFCs. You are therefore invited to take part in the discussion at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration#NE2. Thank you. —Imdanumber1 (talk • contribs • email) 03:18, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Talk:Pennsylvania Route 145 Engtech?
Saw your change Engtech --> Geography, on the surface a sensible thought.
However, neither to be perverse nor contrary, I shall be resetting it back to Engtech:
- First, there is a master list at WP:GA and in that list Pennsylvania Route 145 was placed in Engtech-->Transport-->Road Transport-->Pennsylvania Route 145. Other Pennsylvania routes are also listed under that particular topic branching (Routes 222, 39, Schuylkill Expressway...). Note that while roads have a geographic aspect, they are also artificially constructed and constitute examples of engineering. One may argue for days on what constitutes the primary sort attribute; choice of how one organizes a topic tree oft-time depends on anticipating what one expects to look for frequently and choosing to make those topics primary. Here, consensus arrived at the notion that the artificial, constructed aspects of roads is the primary constant search key; geography is a less stable attribute. To see this, consider trying to attribute a geographic aspect to a very long road that spans many geographic regions: US Interstate 80. Spanning a continent, one cannot say where the road is to any great degree of precision, New Jersey works as well as California as well as all the states in between, but its designation as a work of engineering is comparatively stable. This is why Good Articles about roads are not typically placed in the Geography category; for significantly long roads, its difficult to attribute the idea of place to them (If you take a moment to review the Geography section at WP:GA, you'll see no category for roads as a 'kind of place').
- Categorizing an article contrary to its location in WP:GA will cause confusion in the future. Unless a reviewer failed to categorize an article, we in the WP:UCGA task force are not using our judgment whatsoever. Instead, we are following the classification scheme established by WP:GA so as to be consistent with the one document where the fullest possible classification scheme is in place. Only when an article fails to appear in WP:GA do we make a judgment about its topic, and in those cases follow as closely as possible to how similar articles have been classified at WP:GA. We then set the topic on the talk page and locate the article at WP:GA.
Thank you for checking my work and keeping me honest. However, please don't change my edit again. Instead, if you have concerns about how this classification scheme works, raise them at WikiProject Good articles/Uncategorized Good articles task force talk page, where I and other editors are engaged in updating article topic classifications. We'd be interested in hearing your point of view about article classification schemes. Thanks! Take care. — Gosgood 18:13, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I was looking at PA 222's categorisation, and saw geography. But eh, point taken. (→O - RLY?) 18:29, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing that out (I changed it, per reasoning above). Those of us in this classification slog get cross-eyed and make mistakes. Thank you for catching one. Take care — Gosgood 22:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Edit Summary reply
Thanks. Normally, im pretty good with trying to type something in the edit summary box, but sometimes, when im going on a streak, like I am, creating pages for the Pennsylvania Route Numbers, or getting edits down one after another, I do sometimes forget about the edit summary box.
Oh, anything on how I can be able to make a map for state routes? (from my one question up the page a little bit earlier)Whammies Were Here (PYLrulz) 01:17, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Edit: One other thing I forgot, for the other route numbers im getting for the PA routes, on the route numbers where the next route number is a decomissioned number, you want me to list that as next instead of the next commissioned route? Sorry for the extra question on here, but I figure I get my bases covered that way I dont mix up on anything else. Thanks Whammies Were Here (PYLrulz) 01:23, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, list the decommissioned route. (→O - RLY?) 01:25, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
