Request reason:

I am a staff member at Northwest Chinese Academy and we would like our school listed with the other Beaverton education school list on the City of Beaverton, Oregon wikipedia page, like Jesuit High School, The Japanese Afternoon School, Valley Catholic, German American School, among others. We then want to make a school wikipedia page, like Jesuit High School has so families and community members can learn more about our language immersion educational program services. We don't understand why our school name can't be listed with the other Private Schools. We hope that we can just list our school name and then link to our specific school wikipedia page. I apologize for initially writing a more marketing focused statement on that page and now I understand we just need to list our school name and then link to another page, is that okay? You obviously are confusing your user page with the name of an article. If you look again at those other schools, the titles do not have User: in front of them, and when you look in the histories of the articles, you will see all sorts of names as editors - but not the name of the school (or at least not for more than a few edits before they were stopped...). My user name is Peridon, I have a user page User:Peridon that tells something about me - as a person. That is what a user page is for. It is not an article. Please understand too that those other articles were not necessarily written BY the schools. Under our policy WP:COI, we suggest very strongly that people who are very closely connected to a subject should not edit about it. It is not forbidden, but it is hard to be neutral when you have a close connection. Be aware that your school will not have control of an article about it, just as the others don't. Anyone can edit. If you just want 'families and community members' to learn more about the school and its work, that can be done on your own school website. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion.
