nimrod1976/Mriraq Sockpuppet
[edit]I have been receiving emails after having gotten User:Mriraq blocked from what seems like one or two individuals. One claims to be Alaa Abdul Hadi, a former Miss Iraq, now User:nimrod1976, and one claims to be Ahmed Kadret, a former Mr. Iraq, User:Mriraq. Both persons claim to work for the Talat Organization. They have been polite and civil. I am attempting to steer Alaa to constructive contribution. I asked her to create an ID so she could upload the dozens of photos they sent me of past Miss Iraqs. I attempted to encourage her to communicate with me through this ID on wikipedia so I could instruct her on how to upload her photos. However, she went ahead and recreated Miss Iraq instead. Could any involved admin userfy both the original Miss Iraq and her recreation so that I can see what is going on. I will try to keep you posted on my progress and try to get her to communicate with me through wikipedia so that our communication will be transparent. Regarding your request
[edit]In response to your request, there are two things:
- First, I am not an administrator, who are the only people on this site who can recover a deleted article. If you want the deleted Miss Iraq article, you'll have to ask one of them, but you have to consider that the article has already been deleted once before, so you will have to fix the article to meet Wikipedia's rules and regulations before reposting it. Otherwise, the article will continue to be deleted as a repost of a previously deleted article.
- Second, your attempts to try and remove the Claudia Hanna article are uncalled for; while you company may not recognize her as the "official" Miss Iraq, there are many reliable sources that verify her participation at Miss Arab World 2006 as that paegant's Miss Iraq. Thus, she meets Wikipedia's requirements for notability for living people, and thus an article about her is appropriate for this website. The attempts by Mriraq and yourself to delete the article are unnecessary and can be considered vandalism if you continue to do so. NeoChaosX (talk, walk) 15:06, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Using Wikipedia
[edit]Alaa,
I got your message that both User:Mriraq and User:manpreet1976 are blocked. You have to be very respectful of wikipedia policy since this ID will be considered a WP:SOCK if you start debating about the same issues that you have been debating. I see you got an answer to Claudia Hanna in a post above. Basically, it sounds like there may be a Miss Iraq who is the winner of the Miss Iraq contest, but an individual who participates in another recognized pageant as Miss Iraq is also recognized as a Miss Iraq.
In general, wikipedia is WP:NOT some sort of blog where people meet to debate issues of sociopolitical importance. Those who edit should have the the mindset that they are attempting to collaboratively improve the resource. You have mentioned to me that you really don't want to take the time to contribute the Miss Iraq resources that you have at your disposal. I am not going to upload the dozens that you emailed me. I will help you to begin making good faith contributions. I would hope that you would choose your best few photos and upload them. Follow the instructions I sent you in my reply email. We could constructively build an article around them. You should choose a Miss Iraq that you would like to start an article for and have verifiable sources for. I hope you will. Claudia Hanna
[edit]I got your latest request. Although it may seem that unilateral actions are appropriate at wikipedia, every action be made with the belief that the collective consensus agrees. I have made the proper changes to the Claudia Hanna page to prompt either proper citation of claim or reediting of the claim. If you are correct it is not possible for the claim to be cited. Thus, it will in time be changed. You must be patient.
Also, remind me of what you think should be done to the Assyrian page. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 16:44, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have changed to a stronger tag. Claudia Hanna will likely forever continue to have a wikipedia page because of photographic evidence that she did compete in Miss Arab World. Personally, based on her "hotness", her "coolness" and the contextual implications of photos pointed out in the following section I believe she did compete and place as indicated. I personally, do not believe she ever won the Miss Iraq crown that your organization is involved in. This does not merit a deletion, however. In time, the article will be amended based on the tags I have added. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 18:37, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Claudia Hanna
[edit]First off, no, I didn't write that article. I'm involved because your coworker was vandalizing and making a mess of the article rather than calmly trying to explain his position.
Second, I can't tell how Claudia Hanna "won" the Miss Iraq titles. But I can tell you that she was the "Miss Iraq" represenative at Miss Arab World 2006, where she was runner-up. Some articles to prove that she was "Miss Iraq" at that contest:
You can complain all you want that it's not an "official" contest, but it got some coverage in the media, so an article of her would meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. NeoChaosX (talk, walk) 17:17, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Miss Iraq deletion review
[edit]I just nominated the article for deletion, I didn't delete it myself. If you want to restore the article, you have to go over to Wikipedia:Deletion review and file a request over there. NeoChaosX (talk, walk) 16:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- If you want help with deletion review, contact me. If no one responds to the concerns on either of the articles I have tagged for you by the end of the month get back to me. I can put a stronger tag on Claudia Hanna. I will have to think about what to do with Assyrians, but there is more that can be done I think. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 20:49, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I think the link for my vote may have led to my old (Dec 2006) vote when you were looking at it. It is now properly linked and all opinions are welcome. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 20:49, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Assyrians/Claudia Hanna
[edit]I just checked back today to see what has happened with Assyrians and Claudia Hanna recently. Are you satisfied with the changes at Assyrians. If not let me know. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 23:46, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- If you have a verifiable, reliable source for the fact that they are (1) a stateless people, (2) without their own native language, (3) not an ethnic group, I will add them myself at this point. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 14:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Can you tell me if globalsecurity.org is a partisan organization? TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 15:29, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
