Mass changes to amusement ride articles

[edit]

I strongly suggest you discuss some of these changes before making them, especially the major ones involving splitting articles and adding secondary infoboxes. For the Soarin' article, it wasn't necessary to split, as multiple installations of the same ride (even if they're slightly different from each other) are typically covered in the same article. There's not usually enough information to justify more than one standalone article in most situations, and this is definitely one of them. I've reverted some of these edits, and it would be best for you to initiate a discussion on the article talk pages to solicit opinions from other editors. --GoneIn60 (talk) 03:56, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Concur. Ness Playz MC, Please see WP:BRD. You were Bold; you were Reverted; your correct next move is not to restore your changes, but rather to Discuss at e.g. talk:Soarin'. Jeh (talk) 05:16, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Heidi: The Ride requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on Soarin' Around The World requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

It may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion under CSD G7

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Hi, I'm jeh (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Following your deletion of the content you copied to this article, I have nominated the article for speedy deletion under reason CSD G7, "author requests deletion". "If the sole author blanks a page [...] this can be taken as a deletion request."

This is in no way intended as a rebuke of you personally or your editing skills in general - there is a huge amount of existing conventions and common practices and prior consensus in Wikipedia, and you just happened to bump into some of that; it is clear that your edits were made in a good faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, for which thank you. Thank you also for your acceptance of the existing consensus. I hope you will continue as an active editor. Jeh (talk) 07:24, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm GoneIn60. I noticed that you made a change to an article, The Joker (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to SheiKra. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. GoneIn60 (talk) 12:51, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Never delete a reference list as you did to Arrow Dynamics, doing so left every single inline citation without a reference. You also removed an entire section ==Milestones== without any discussion or explanation. You then combined a separate article List of Arrow Dynamics roller coasters onto Arrow Dynamics, again without any discussion. If you continue this behavior, your edits will be interpreted as vandalism. These and several other of your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to The Joker (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. GoneIn60 (talk) 22:30, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Gwazi. GoneIn60 (talk) 03:21, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
