Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Neodiprion demoides requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. A quiet thought for you

[edit]

Even if you do not pull your horns in, reporting someone's behaviour or perceived behaviour to a forum is not without risk to one's own status here.

It seems to me that consensus is not on your side. It feels very much like time to drop the stick and back slowly away from the horse carcass in this incident. If you decide to follow this path please do so with good grace, and say that you have.

You are welcome to ignore this advice and to continue, of course you are. I do not believe it will be productive to do so, nor lead to a pleasing ending. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:52, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have an eye for detail, and other matters

[edit]

Perhaps I should suggest it to be a forensic eye. It interests me that you seem, so far, to focus on the less than straightforward writers of papers. More power to your elbow. Rogues and charlatans need their chicanery exposed to sunlight.

I hope you were not too displeased with the ANI outcome, and, please, I have no intention of relegating it here. It is possible but unlikely that you will encounter the editor who displeases you by their actions. Should you do so I doubt you will take my advice to walk quietly away form them, but I hope you do.

Consensus is a difficult thing. We work hard to suggest that our view prevails, and then, when we discover that consensus is against our view we need to smile and nod, even when we are certain that consensus is wrong, ludicrous, fanciful, etc.

I hope you are putting this behind you and will enjoy editing here. I trust I did not offend you in the discussion. If I did it was not my intention and I apologise. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:02, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again and thanks for the warm words!
Yep, I think the "nah, whatever" attitude to that ANI is fine for me. I have an opinion about those "guards of content purity". But if the community is generally satisfied with this level of qualifications that these button-pushers have, so be it. Neodiprion demoides (talk) 08:11, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Autocarrot changed 'relitigating' to 'relegating'. Ah well.
I'm glad you have set it aside, even if it left a difficult taste. Wikipedia is a strange and difficult place. We are better for your presence. The discussion was heading towards your absence. I asked an uninvolved admin I respect to close it before it went to a pile on of unpleasantness. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:25, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
