Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 16:31, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Vimanapura
[edit]- You put into page Vimanapura a request to merge that page with itself. Was that intended? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:39, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- No, That was a typo. I intended to merge Vimanpura with Vimanapura. I have corrected the merge tag. Thanks for pointing out. --Nayvik (talk) 07:04, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for adding the copypaste tag (and providing the source too!) on that article. I have checked and removed the copyrighted content and the template appropriately. Minimac (talk) 15:22, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

DYK for MOIL Limited
[edit]On 27 November 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article MOIL Limited, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Balaghat mine operated by MOIL Limited is the deepest underground manganese mine in Asia? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Speedy deletion nomination of Karnataka Public Works Department
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Karnataka Public Works Department requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Kudpung (talk) 04:35, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Promotional material on Bhimsen Joshi
[edit]Hi,
I've noticed promotional material being posted on Bhimsen Joshi in the external links section. These include user-uploaded performance videos on YouTube. The way I understand it, these qualify as promotional as they do not satisfy the purpose of corroborating factual information contained in the article. Just trying to get other opinions too. What do you think?

- AFAIK, if the link adds value to the article and the video in the link does not violate copyright restrictions (many videos on YouTube have copyrights issue), i think it is OK to add it. Right now i am in office and cant access YouTube, perhaps will have a look at it later. Also see WP:YOUTUBE. --Nayvik (talk) 02:59, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Wrong info at "Visvesvaraya Institute of Advanced Studies" wiki
[edit]The article i had deleted suggested that a IIT has been constructed next to the proposed VIAT campus. This is not true as IIT has not been sanctioned to Karnataka yet. Also the reference links provided were of speculative news from the year 2008 when discussions were going on setting up a campus. But now its clear that Planning commission is not going to sanction further IITs in this 5 year plan.
Also i suggest you look at this fake article > http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Indian_Institute_of_Technology_Muddenahalli . It says that an IIT has already been functioning at this campus. Being at a distance of 30mins drive from Muddenahalli, i can assure that no such "IIT" has been established. All the external reference links provided are directed towards a fake website which is making money out of the traffic generated by wiki. P.srikanta (talk) 14:09, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- The article Indian Institute of Technology Muddenahalli mentions that the IIT is an upcoming one and construction is to be completed by 2012 and so does the sources which quotes Mr Moily who is an union minister. Do you have any source that mentions that IIT is not approved. If you have, please feel free to update the article or if you have sources which say that IIT will not come up at Muddenahalli at all then perhaps you can propose the article for deletion. --Nayvik (talk) 04:53, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:22, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
