Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Nasreen Sheikh, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Nasreen Sheikh/sandbox, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

A tag has been placed on User:Nasreen Sheikh/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://nasreensheikh.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Nasreen Sheikh. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:03, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UTRS decline

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. Please describe in greater detail how your editing was unconstructive and how you would edit constructively if unblocked. Please read Wikipedia's Guide to appealing blocks for more information. As you still have access to your talk page, please post your unblock request to your user talk page, omitting any off-Wiki personally identifying information. If you have not already done so, please place the following at the bottom of your talk page, filling in "Your reason here "
 {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Please see UTRS appeal #43393. Sorry, no. You repeatedly promoted yourself and have not addressed that concern. You will not be allowed to write about yourself on Wikipedia. Please describe the constructive edits you would make on your talk page. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:14, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hi, I am Nasreen Sheikh and I should be unblocked as I am a new user on Wikipedia and I did mistakes unknowingly. I am so sorry for the mistakes and I will surely take references to edit my pages which would be easier for the respective administrator as well. I got blocked for trying repeatedly to publish the page and I did as I was not aware it would be a hassle for my respective administrators, I will ensure the page to be constructive by taking references from YouTube, Wikipedia chat help and also my counterpart and my mentor who have published their respective pages on Wikipedia successfully. I also got blocked for copyright violations whilst taking few of the sentences as references from my own website nasreensheikh. com, I would read the copyright violations guidelines and follow up strictly and ensure that my page is completely transparent and respects the copyright violations guidelines of Wikipedia. I had to do it as my language is not polished as per Wikipedia needs. I would like to sincerely apologize for the mistakes and ensure that my work is eligible per Wikipedia needs. Sorry for the newbie mistake and I hope respective administrators would grant me an opportunity so I could work better on my page and I could provide reliable resources and information to the Wikipedia community in coming days. Nasreen Sheikh (talk) 17:35, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

  • The issue with promotion is not the administrative work caused by it. The issue with promotion is that it's completely against Wikipedia's fundamental values (see also: WP:NOTPROMO). It also doesn't matter if the promotion is done for a good cause. Promotion for any cause is completely unwelcome on this project.
  • YouTube is not a useful reference; I recommend having a look at the huge table at WP:RSP, specifically its entry about YouTube, to get an overview of what can be used and what can't, and for which reasons.
  • Whoever the "mentor" is: The goal is not "publishing [ones] pages on Wikipedia successfully". The goal is improving the encyclopedia. Creating new articles is not required to improve the encyclopedia; see the Task Center for helpful alternatives.
  • The time to read the copyright violations policy is before, not after making your unblock request.
So if I correctly understand your request, the first thing you'd do after being unblocked is to create a page about the same topic again, this time with YouTube references. A more productive approach would be promising not to write about Nasreen Sheikh again, as a binding unblock condition. Please also provide examples for actually helpful contributions that you would like to make, but currently can't because of the block. Creating new articles is likely not a good example.

There is no time limit for an unblock request, so if you are currently not interested in doing anything else than "publishing pages on Wikipedia", feel free to create an unblock request in a few years if this ever changes. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:33, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
