Thanks for the advice, yeah I've just noticed that sort of thing happening myself actually. Guess I'll just have to check after I revert in future. LibLord 22:52, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Your report on WP:AIV
Only because of one diff? – [1]. Don't do it again, please. — Nearly Headless Nick 15:43, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- It has been my understanding that if an anon vandal vandalizes within a reasonable period of a last warning (24 hours would qualify) that the ip is subject to block. Since the IP seemed to be on a rampage yesterday and received the whole range of warnings it was reasonable to submit the IP for block today only 15 hours after the last warning. I have done this several times in the past without chastisement. Your kind guidance would be appreciated. Mufka 15:53, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- The user was blocked by another administrator, I would not have done it. Outright vandalism is not the enemy of Wikipedia; subtle and sneaky vandalism is. The user, who probably was a newbie, would change into a troll and would contribute even more destructively. Sometimes, we just should not bite them, lest they become trolls. All the best. — Nearly Headless Nick 16:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: My Username
Posted by Mufka: I saw you posting a warning message on a vandal's talk page and I was thinking that you were a bot or something. The reason I'm leaving a note is that I thought you might run up against a complaint about your username violating the username policy. The policy seems gray in some areas but you might want to review it yourself Username policy. I'd hate to see you build up a reputation as a RC Patroller only to have to change your username. Good Luck. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 03:22, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your concern, Mufka. I have reviewed Wikipedia's policy on usernames, and I don't think that mine falls in any of the categories of inappropriate names. Most bots I have seen include the suffix "-bot" and I have seen none with the prefix "wiki". I would like to keep my username the same for the time being; however, if there is something I am missing or any other problems, please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Or is it because I reported a guy after giving only a test4 ?. -- Esurnir 21:05, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm the last time I did that, I think it was after a progressive blanking pattern (means, blanking litle part by litle part, to avoid detection by our software), when I see that "pattern" I asked on irc wich warning would be appropriate, and told them about test4im ("Only warning" instead of last warning) and first they told me test3 then said "oh forgot about it, take this one"). Your comment on user talk page policy
I noticed that you posted a comment on Village Pump about the ambiguous nature of user talk page usage policy. I'm of the opinion that user talk pages are a community resource, especially in the case of vandalism warnings. I'm planning to initiate discussion on the possibility of defining a policy on what is and what is not proper behavior when it comes to deleting vandalism warnings on one's own talk page. Let me know if you are interested in this debate and I'll let you know when it is open for discussion again. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 18:03, 23 February 2007 (UTC-6)
- I am interested. I would have two main goals.
- Keep persistent vandals from succeeding in deleting warnings.
- Convince people to keep in progress conversations on their talk page rather than deleting new posts immediately "to show they have been read." I would prefer to see everyone archive their talk pages and wait for conversations to age first. (However, I am all for them deleting immediately personal attacks and related posts. It is amazing how often User:AntiVandalBot and User talk:AntiVandalBot were vandalized by someone claiming the bot was itself a vandal back in December.)
- Will (Talk - contribs) 21:22, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm also interested. I also think that they are community records and they are a record of communication. That communication should not have to be hard for people to go through. While a low volume talk page can be easy to go back and view a removed warning, could you imagine digging through your talk page for one? or mine? I think we should start with something simple, like all valid communication should never be deleted from talk pages, only archived. Then also reach a consensus on appropriate archiving time, i.e. 7 days unless a discussion is of particular size and at least 3 days old.--Crossmr 03:22, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I declined your speedy deletion proposal on the above article because I didn't believe it was patent nonsense as you tagged it. It may also have been written by someone for whom English is not a first language, and the term may be being used in Chinese or another language other than English. Although I didn't feel quite comfortable speedying it, you are definitely free to tag the article, leave a note on the creator's talkpage, or prod it to make sure that if we wind up keeping the article it meets our standards. Reguarding "Dodge Hornet"
This specific part I had never added, I just rearranged it, and added the first paragraph from it
"*Engine - 1.6ltr 4-cylinder (Supercharged)
- Power - 170bhp
- 0-60mph - 7.5 seconds
- Top Speed - 135mph+
- Price - £14,000est.
With its wide stance, the Hornet is solidly planted on the road. Up front, the signature Dodge crossbar grille is set above an exposed engine intercooler flanked by front brake air ducts and fog lamps. The raised plateau on the hood features a recessed scoop on the driver’s side to funnel air to the engine air box. Underhood is a 1.6L 16-valve OHC supercharged I/C four-cylinder engine putting out 127 kW (170 hp)/224 N m (165 lb.-ft.) of torque @ 4000 rpm. The Dodge Hornet is a concept car designed and developed by Dodge and revealed in 2006. It was Dodges first attempt at building a car this small, it is ready to hit the road in 2008. It is a rally inspired design based on the Jeep Compass platform, powered by a 1.6 L supercharged 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 hp, taken from the 2005 Mini Cooper S. The Hornet has a throaty engine note louder than Dodges V10 Viper, and the performance of this car really is not surprising given Dodges history of building 'quick' cars with the New Charger and the Challenger soon to be arriving on UK roads. It can rapidly accelerate from 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, which is the same as the 'Checkmate Mini', and at £14,000 it is £4,000 less than the Mini The Hornets doors open like that of the Mazda RX8.
The Hornet name comes from the AMC Hornet that was built by American Motors from 1970-1977. AMC was acquired by Chrysler (Dodge's parent) in 1987."
If this is what you are saying I copied, I had never even touched that.
- Bold- I did add that, without ever even seeing the websites that you have posted.
I also have a question:
Me being new and all, I was wondering if I have any further questions, if I may come to you. I thank you very much for talking to me in a calm way, that is not snooty. Thank you for answering all my questions, as I know you will this one too.
I am sorry for the newness and so sudden problems I have created, I am really working hard on this. Please be patient with me, and thanks again.
If you are referring to the specific parts I've added, please let me know. I am not trying to acuse you of being wrong or lieing

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ichihashi.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ichihashi.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
(Non-boilerplate: The article's been merged to the murder victim's article. Not sure if putting the image there would be relevant since Ichihashi gets barely 1 para, but if you think it would be, feel free to put it in.) Johnleemk | Talk 07:45, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Your explanation and comment (response) noted. I'm ready to get back to editing! Writing comments trying to explain is time consuming. Help
I need some help. I use archives and I either blanked my page or my account was hacked. I don't remember blanking my archive page. I would appreciate it if you cound restore it here. Genghis Khan School of Debauchery? Mufka 15:25, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Many people of Asian descent may find this particular analogy racially offensive. To many people of particular Asian ethnic origins Genghis Khan is revered as great warrior and leader who created one of the largest and most important empires in world history. The contributions of the Mongols eventually had a considerable positive impact on the cultural, political and social development of Central Asia, East Asia and Asia Minor. I think a more racially neutral analogy may be a wiser choice. Thank you Ngo Quyen 16.05.07
- Thomas Jefferson is revered as a great leader but he held slaves. I'm sure that you understand that truth is an absolute defense in libel law. Anyway, my analogy made my point. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 17:23, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes I do agree with the jurisprudence principle of absolute truth as a defense in libel law and one could just as easily use the analogy: the Thomas Jefferson School of Antebellum Southern Plantation Management awarding a PhD in the Abolition of Slavery, and made the same point. I was simply pointing out that any historic figures' contribution to the development of civilization when viewed in the context of the fog of history can either be held in great esteem or diminished as a villain according to ones nationalistic ideology and ethnic identity. Thank you Ngo Quyen 16.05.07
October 18
Hi, I have noticed that you have reverted the article October 18, I have actually reverted the same thing out of that article about three of four times before, you may have to keep an eye out, becuase the person who does this also tries to creat an article about ann pham or whatever here name is. Thanks--AdamJWC 03:38, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

No, I did this because the user vandalised the page again just a minute later after your warning. Thanks trying to help anyway. Francisco Tevez 18:55, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
I left multiple last warnings so people could see how much vandalization the user had done. Thanks for the tip! Cheers, JetLover (Talk) (Sandbox) 00:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't know of any speedy criteria for fictional characters. Corvus cornix 03:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Ther are too many people who will just run in and delete a db tag solely on the basis that there is nothing at WP:CSD which allows a speedy deletion for the subject matter, without bothering to change it to an AfD. So I didn't want to have to go through the trouble, since I was expecting it to happen. Corvus cornix 03:36, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for showing me the way. The company website is incorrect - I will get it corrected ASAP and will not update the Wiki page until it is and I can site the source. New here - but not to LAD. We have 109 stores now - shame on us for having an error on the Lithia.com website. Thank you - T
User Talk:84.104.123.100/ warning
Hey, thnx for the warning (see: talk: 84.104.123.100), but the changes made on the page of Robster1983, are made by me, Robster1983. For changes on my own User page, sometimes I don't feel like signing in, so my IPadress is visible then (IPadress 84.104.123.100). But I do appreciate it; it is nice to know that if somebody indeed did try to change my page (for whatever reason), that it is monitored by Wikipedians, and if necessary, a warning is put out. So even though this change was legitimate, a big thnx, for you did do the right thing! :-) --Robster1983 13:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Not notable? I would say that Bush applying Geneva Conventions to the detainees is huge. Not that he really has of course. I admit that I made a mistake and put 2007 instead of 2006 though. 199.125.109.51 05:44, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- An argument could made that it is notable. But when I ask myself, "will it be notable in 50 years", I'm just not sure. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 18:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Uh delete it in 50 years then, if it is no longer notable. That's a very simple solution. I say it is highly notable today. 199.125.109.51 15:33, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Sure, I am happy to do what I can. I have no particular axe to grind with regard to US matters so I may be able to look at the dispute from a neutral point of view. Not having done such a thing before, do you know if there is a normal protocol; do I just post to the discussion and offer to assist in forming a consensus or is there some set way of doing things? --Drappel 19:08, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Don't mess with something you no little to nothing about. I have written authorization from Newtown History Center to publish that with references. Also, don't put pointless "copyright violation" templates on my talk page. Why not improve Wikipedia instead of trying to shut me down at each corner. - NeutralHomer T:C 19:18, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's a little funny, I was just in the about 2 1/2 hours ago, told them who I was and what I was working on, spoke to the historian and she had no problem with me using the information, since she was the one who gave me the written permission. So....exactly what crap are you trying to tell me now? - NeutralHomer T:C 19:29, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sure that you understand that there are processes and rules that need to be followed. I'm encouraged by your spirit as an editor but I think it would do you well to review some of the rules. I'm here to help if I can. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 19:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
July 21
You should be careful about your edits on July 21... you're coming very close to WP:3RR. — PyTom 17:49, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have no fear of being admonished for violation of WP:3RR by any prudent and thoughtful admin. Reverting vandalism is a clear exception and the edits to the July 21 article clearly violate the guidelines set forth for that Wikicalendar article as relates to the posting of future events. I am especially confident in my actions because I am not the only editor who sees it necessary to regularly revert those types of entries. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 18:11, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I was asked to provide permission, I did. Then I am told there was no permission provided, this is a blantant lie. Forward an email via my email link and I will forward you the permission from the Newtown History Center. - NeutralHomer T:C 19:33, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Do you know how long it will take the Communications Committee to give a yes/no answer? Since the email/permission is directly from the Newtown History Center (their email address, replied to mine, forwarded to Wiki) I don't think it will be a problem, but until I know what is going on, I don't want to start anything else on the page and I have alot that still needs to be done.
- Right now, I am working with the Virginia Historical Society to get some information on the charter/founding, among other topics on Stephensburgh (later Stephens City). I might actually make a trip down there.
- So, I am honestly trying to add all the possible references and sources. Things are just moving slowly, which is teh part that bugs me, I guess. So, please don't think I am edit warring or 3RR'ing, I am honestly trying. After I sent it yesterday, I readded "in good faith", since the permission had been sent in. It was me being an "ass", just getting the information back up while the process was ongoing. - NeutralHomer T:C 21:22, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikicalendar/NYT link bot
Hello Mufka,
I just wanted to give you a quick update on the status of the bot: I did file a request for approval with the bot approvals group as required by our bot policy (this isn't a task my bot was previously approved for) and started writing the code for the bot. It was then helpfully pointed out to me that the same result could be achieved using some rather clever template parser functions that modify the link based on the current date. Since that solution is far more elegant and also easier on the servers, I withdrew my request.
I would be happy to help replace the NYT links with the template, if there's consensus that this should be done. I think a next good step would be to bring this to the attention of the Days of the year WikiProject. What do you think? Cheers S up? 17:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Have you heard anything else on the confirmation front? I still haven't recieved anything from ComComm and I really want to start working on the page. If you could find something out and let me know, I would appericate it. Take Care and Have a Good Weekend....NeutralHomer T:C 07:54, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- I will go over there tomorrow (when I go out and do my normal errands and see if they can't do it that way. My thing is, I don't want to annoy these people and they retract the permission because of the annoyances of Wikipedia. - NeutralHomer T:C 08:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Your Bot Request
You may or may not be aware that S withdrew his request for bot approval that would serve your request, seeing as I created a template that would solve the presented problem just as well. The template is here, and an example of its use is here. Let me know if you need help creating a duplicate template or implementing it on the Wikicalendars, and please let me know when I can delete my own copy.

July 18
I noticed that you deleted a recent addition to events on July 18. I had nothing to do with that edit, but it seems to me that the event you deleted is significant enough (only 16 perfect games in the first 100+ years of baseball), plus there is no other entry in 1999. If in 2009 someone is looking for a "10 years ago today" item, why not give them this? It seems like this event is sufficiently notable to me and I will add it back, but if you feel strongly and want to re-delete it, feel free to do so. -- DS1953 talk 22:51, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism from this IP address
Thanks for your message which I encountered while browsing Wikipedia this morning.
This IP is in use by a large office building in Glasgow, Scotland. I have no hope of establishing which employee here is actually responsible for the vandalism you have had to revert. However judging from other messages directed at this IP, it is a recurrent problem; so if you have any ability to prevent this IP from making any further edits to Wikipedia I would encourage you to go ahead and do it.
Yours, A concerned Glasgow office worker. 195.43.48.132
