Hello Mscdpanda3, I cleaned up the formatting of Clayton Zelin a little bit. Your first few articles can be a trying time, especially when you are bright and shiny new to Wikipedia. I'm not really into American soccer to be of much help beyond formatting things. I hope what i did helps a little. If you can find more news coverage instead of relying on team stats pages that would really help.
Also, articles are not supposed to have {{helpme}} tags on them. The help tag is for use here on your user talk page. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me on my talk page (click the "~hugs~") or here. delirious & lost~hugs~ 06:53, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ATHLETE is the criteria that you need to meet for an article on Mr Zelin. The requirement for "People who have competed at the fully professional level of a sport" might be do-able but i do not understand the various levels of professionalism in American soccer. I am also having a hard time finding what his current team is. If he is still playing for Real Colorado then that is not a pro league. If he is playing for Colorado Lightning then that is a pro league team. The fun of outdoor vs indoor soccer :D The other, and primary, requirement is "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." What that means is newspaper articles, articles in magazine relating to US soccer (i'm not sure if there are any) or articles in mainstream publications such as TIME or Rolling Stone. Searching on Google News is a great first step but Google doesn't have everything. If you live in the Denver area and there has been coverage in local papers or magazines you can cite those as well. The articles need to be more than "Zelin scored the winning goal" in their coverage of him. Here is the Google News search results for recent coverage. And some good news, while i was writing this there has been one vote cast in favour of keeping the article.
I am trying here. If you ever need help with tv shows or less-than-uber-famous musicians then i can be of much more help. delirious & lost~hugs~ 10:11, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HelpMe

[edit]

{{helpme}} Hi. I'm tlping this request since there is no question. If you have any questions, please post it here together with the helpme template. Happy editing! BejinhanTalk 06:00, 27 February 2010 (UTC) {{helpme}}I wrote an article that is up for deletion, I included 9 references to make i legit. Wikipedia has Clayton Zelin mentioned in several U.S. Soccer teams, but doesn't have an article explaining more about him. He is currently listed under Real Colorado Foxes, Colorado Lightning and Colorado predators on wikipedia. I tried to write an article talking about him since he played NCAA division 1 soccer at Georgia Southern University and has played for New Orleans, Colorado Blizzard, Ogden Outlaws, Colorado Predators, Colorado Lightning, Real Colorado Foxes and played Reserve games for the Colorado Rapids in 2009,2010, and 2011 how can we get this published —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mscdpanda3 (talkcontribs) 06:00, 1 March 2010[reply]

Please direct your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clayton Zelin, as that is where the deletion discussion is to take place. You are welcome to add your comments. {{helpme}} I had written an article Clayton Zelin, but it was deleted because, MLS reserves and Professional Indoor league were not seen as a pro league. Clayton Zelin has now signed with Phoenix FC in the USL PRO league as #32. Here is the link to the roster, please help put this back together. The article Clayton Zelin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi Mscdpanda3, I see that Clayton Zelin plays for the Real Colorado Foxes, and that team ins in the USL Premier Development League, that league isn't fully professional as per the guidelines used for soccer/football players, within the United States only Major League Soccer, North American Soccer League, and USL Pro are considered fully professional (there are also some defunct leagues). I am afraid the article will meet the same fate if it is recreated. Let me know if you have any questions. --kelapstick(bainuu) 07:20, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kelapstick, That is what I am saying, he (Robert "Clayton" Zelin III) previously played for the REAL COLORADO FOXES, but now plays for PHOENIX FC Wolves in USL PRO. I am trying to get the article back on with the fact that he is signed with Phoenix FC. Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).http://www.uslsoccer.com/teams/2013/58092992.html#ROSTER Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/odeendomingofc/2013/07/10/phoenix-fc-send-gk-andrew-weber-to-seattle-sounders-fc-recieve-gk-on-loan-from-real-salt-lake-sign-defender-updates-injuries-and-more/ I am looking for help to get the original article back with this information. Mscdpanda3Mscdpanda3 (talk) 21:46, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I see what you mean, but the requirement is that he has played, which it looks like he hasn't (he doesn't have a number on the Phoenix FC page). I am not a expert on soccer, but you may be able to get some more specific answers at WT:FOOTY, they should be able to speak to the requirements better than I can. --kelapstick(bainuu) 22:04, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help, I just looked on the site it says he is #32, so not sure why when you looked there wasnt one. He was also listed on the 18 man roster for last nights game vs Antigua. I may just restart a new article to get it back up. What are your thoughts on that? mscdpanda3Mscdpanda3 (talk) 22:09, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
