Notice

The article Circus Bazaar Magazine has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 180.150.37.213 (talk) 02:17, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It has been publicly acknowledged by the owners official social media channels that this page has come under ransom attack by bad faith actors on Wikipedia. I have had a look at the case and believe that this to be the case. I have therefor removed the deletion request and added three additional references from the media in the country of Norway. This publication was added under a serial publication project and flagged to be approved by Norwegian Editors. Many of the citations are from the Scandinavian media landscape and are therefore not available in English. Prior to judgement and deletion this page needs to be properly viewed by "non" bad faith Norwegian based editors. Monsieur Loya (talk) 14:43, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Monsieur Loya,
Can you be more specific about your claims of "extortion"? Has someone contacted you or this company asking for money? This goes against Wikipedia policy and should be investigated if these accusations are true. Liz Read! Talk! 23:14, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The accusations are true to the extent that the official social media channels of the magazine in question are posting screenshots of the "extortion" attemopts by bad faith actors. Thes screenshots are also being posted in Norwegian business forums. I have no reason to doubt these accusations as the dates and messages correspond the action taken against the account. Further as per discussion on the "proposed deletion page" there has been at least one account deleted for what is described as "sockpuppetry".
To look at these yourself please visit:
New to Oslo Facebook Group which is the primary platfrom for foreign speaking workers in the country
The Circus Bazaar Company Instagram Page.
Monsieur Loya (talk) 10:07, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the screenshots on Instagram, the messages appear to be the work of a spammer/scammer—we see activity like this frequently. These scam artists are not connected with anyone worth listening to on Wikipedia, have no power over the content or existence of the article, and can be safely ignored. --Finngall talk 14:40, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Circus Bazaar Magazine for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Circus Bazaar Magazine is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Circus Bazaar Magazine until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Please note that I have completed the nomination on behalf of the IP editor who had PROD-tagged the article previously and have not yet formed an opinion of my own on whether the article should be kept. You are, of course, welcome to comment at the discussion page linked above, but I recommend that any arguments thereon focus on the references supporting the notability of the article and related policy issues--simply dismissing the nominator and anyone else in favor of deleting the article as "bad faith actors" without strong evidence is not likely to be taken seriously and may backfire. I hope this helps. Thank you for your time. --Finngall talk 23:44, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
