Max Ernst Wikipedia Article

[edit]

Hello Mjks28, I noticed that you deleted my contribution on the Max Ernst page, stating 'IMDb is not a reliable source'. However, I was an extra on the production, and I can confirm that German actor Mike Hoffmann is indeed playing Max Ernst. So, true info. Not made up. It's real. Kind regards! 10 December 2024 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.78.89.210 (talk) 08:44, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@194.78.89.210 IMDb is a user contributed site, so it's information cannot be proved to be reliable. I appreciate your input as an extra, but without a reliable source, adding information about the production would be original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Mjks28 (talk) 09:09, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, fair enough, I can see that. Am I allowed to add the same info in November 2025, when the series has aired on television (and the cast credits on the programme itself are a reliable source)? 194.78.89.210 (talk) 12:59, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@194.78.89.210, you can add the same information in as soon as a reliable source backs up the claims. Hope this helps. Mjks28 (talk) 13:13, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Have a lovely day! 194.78.89.210 (talk) 08:00, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Concern regarding Blood Legacy (TV series)

[edit]

Hello,

I hope you’re doing well. While I appreciate the edits you made to the Blood Legacy (TV series) article, I believe that some of the changes were too drastic. I would kindly ask that you avoid making significant deletions without thorough consideration, especially since the series is still new. I will be reverting most of the changes you made.

Thank you for your understanding. Afro 📢Talk! 08:33, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What parts of my edits would you consider "too drastic"? Just wondering so I can avoid making those mistakes in future. I would be happy to discuss any concerns you have regarding my edits, and provide my reasoning for doing them. Mjks28 (talk) 08:40, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
I noticed that you deleted the season overview section, which I believe was unnecessary, I have since reverted that section and will be making further adjustments. As I mentioned before, I appreciate your contributions to the article, but I would kindly suggest taking a more measured approach with future edits.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Afro 📢Talk! 08:49, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but the series overview is not needed for an article until at least a second season has been released. Please look through MOS:TVOVERVIEW before you revert my edits. While you may not agree with all my edits, please keep in mind the guidelines of Wikipedia, and the MOSes we follow. Mjks28 (talk) 08:51, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
sir/ma i completely understand the guidelines but this series is a 20 episode series not just a 6 or 4 episode limited series Afro 📢Talk! 09:04, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Afrowriter The series overview doesn't add any new information; all episodes of the season were released on the same day. If it was released in two halves over two years, it may be useful to include. But currently, it is unnecessary and doesn't follow the MOS. Mjks28 (talk) 09:07, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Menendez

[edit]

Since we have all agreed on the spelling of: Menendez. I am replacing the incorrect spellings as much as possible. Do you know if there is a useful tool for that? Because I think I've had most of them now, but there will always be a few stray ones. Greetings RuedNL2 (talk) 10:03, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RuedNL2 I would just go through any pages linked in the parent article that mention the brothers, and use CTRL+F to find the incorrect spellings and replace them. Unfortunately, I don't know of any tools that could do it more efficiently. It might help to see if there is a bot that could do it. Mjks28 (talk) 10:09, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh okay, thanks! I have now found the tool I was looking for: Special:WhatLinksHere. If I type in 'Lyle and Erik Menéndez', I see all articles where it is still linked / written in this way. RuedNL2 (talk) 11:43, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DCWC closing update

[edit]

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest has come to a close! After a thrilling finish to the event with a slew of submissions on the final day, we have our winners. With 608 points, Bronze Belt Buckle – 3rd place Thebiguglyalien (submissions) comes in third with his series of Kiribati and Botswanan submissions; Silver Belt Buckle – 2nd place Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) flies into second place at the last second with 771 points after a string of good articles about sportspersons; and after leading for much of contest's three months, Gold Belt Buckle – 1st place Generalissima (submissions) finishes with a whopping 798 points to take home the Gold Belt Buckle. Congratulations to our winners!

In addition to his spot in the top three, Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins the special awards for submitting under the most countries (44 countries) and for writing the most articles about women (15 Did you know? nominations)! India Magentic Manifestations (submissions), after making 16 submissions under the Indian flag—15 of them good articles—receives the awards for most submissions for a single country and most featured or good articles promoted. For their submission of one FAC review, five FLC reviews, and 20 GAN reviews, Simongraham (submissions) wins for most article reviews.

The results of the contest have far exceeded any expectations the coordinators had for it at the beginning: among the submissions to the event were 3 FAs, 10 FLs, 88 GAs, dozens of article reviews of every kind, and more Did you know? submissions than we can count! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...

We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

"Obvious vandalism"

[edit]

I recently edited the Thomas Hardy article by removing the "OM" post-nominal in the lead sentence, which I explained by referring to MOS:POSTNOM which states "post-nominal letters may be included in the main body of the article, but not in the lead sentence of the article." Biographical articles about other OM holders conform to this rule. You reverted my change within a minute with the explanation "Obvious vandalism".

Please explain why you reverted my change, and how your offensive accusation of vandalism conforms with the WP:Civility policy?

I am restoring my edit. If you disagree with it, then discuss it on the talk page with a reasoned argument. Masato.harada (talk) 11:56, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise, the "Obvious vandalism" was referring to revision 1259836285, where there was indeed obvious vandalism. I did not see your edit when I restored the article to revision 1259836026. Mjks28 (talk) 12:00, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Paul 012. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks. Redlinks are useful and can often be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" link (in the tools listed at the left in desktop view) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Please only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks!
