A tag has been placed on Travel Trade Gazette, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rackabello 22:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Missing image Image:TTG front cover.jpg
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:TTG front cover.jpg, by S (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:TTG front cover.jpg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:TTG front cover.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 22:14, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Travel Weekly Group (UK) company logo April 2013.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Travel Weekly Group (UK) company logo April 2013.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:40, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Clive Jacobs
[edit]Hello, Mikejwalsh. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Clive Jacobs".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 04:09, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
Paid editing on Wikipedia
[edit]Hello Mikejwalsh. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Travel Weekly Group, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mikejwalsh. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mikejwalsh|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. ☆ Bri (talk) 07:18, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
The article Travel Weekly Group has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No claims meeting WP:NCORP. Only one third party source, and even its shallow coverage predates the supposed formation of the Travel Weekly Group Ltd, so it cannot show notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nat Gertler (talk) 00:38, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
Conflict of interest and paid editing
[edit]Hey, Mike -- your pattern of editing and other evidence suggests that you may have a conflict of interest in regards to some of the topics that you edit, and may even be considered a paid editor. Someone posted a notice on this page five years ago, and I realize that that's a long time and it may have been forgotten. I suggest that you scroll back up to that notice, give it a good read, and follow the parts that apply to you. Failing to do so might cost you your editing privileges. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 01:43, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
