Samatar
Hello MDexpress. Please indicate from which book and from whcih pages the paragraphs on Samatar's life are from. Unsourced material (without inline footnotes) must be deleted, especially in biographic material on living persons. Without footnotes, it must be removed! I am sorry. Best greetings.S711 (talk) 19:36, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks for your reply. I respectfully disagree. It must be clear which information in which paragraph is from which source. It is not enough to give a list of references and let the reader sort it out. At least not on Wikipedia. Inline footnotes are obligatory. I hope you can figure it out. Cheers.S711 (talk) 19:49, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

- Do you really think reliable sources were provided? (contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion. This applies whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable, and whether it is in a biography or in some other article. Material should not be added to an article when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism. When material is both verifiable and notable, it will have appeared in more reliable sources.)S711 (talk) 21:53, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Absurd. The Mohamed Diriye Abdullahi material was taken from the gentleman's own homepage [1]. I think he knows his own background. Middayexpress (talk) 21:57, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- The gentleman's homepage a reliable source? In Wikipedia guidelines it does not qualify as such. I'm sorry.S711 (talk) 22:06, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure it's reliable since a) he's a published scholar, b) it's on his own bio page, and c) the material is about him personally rather than third parties. Per WP:USERG: "Self-published or questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, especially in articles about themselves, without the requirement that they be published experts in the field".
