Hi Member, {{welcome}} to wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions to Goleta Union School District and Brandon School. I hope we can keep Brandon School but unfortunately detailed lists of staff etc don't go down too well around here, but if you look at the wikiproject schools WP:PJSCH and maybe BEEFSTEW you can find things which are more acceptable to include. I think the Accountability Report Cards have a lot of usable info. Kappa 09:34, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC) Hi, might I ask what is the purpose of Member/Wikipedia Front Page? Who you need to go to, and how much it costs, varies according between top-level domains, but it doesn't cost much. Regarding your question, "Are there free or one time fee registars?", there is almost always an anual fee, although there are some sites that offer free domain names, typically in return for advertising - just type something like "free domain name" into google. -- AJR | Talk 23:50, 20 January 2006 (UTC) Request for edit summary[edit]Thank you for your contributions. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy). The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject, or I happen to know personally). I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list. If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006! If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. When a transfer is made and a contract signed, then we can update the article to say he has moved. At the moment he hasn't moved and it is incorrect to update the article as such in my opinion. California High-Speed Rail[edit]Hi. I've converted several of the report links from inline-with-description to reference-footnote format. Where I thought the title was important to the text I left it as is. If you think anything should be changed, please let me know, and why. While I try to follow the guidelines, I am not a slave to a style-convention when it works against the purpose of the text, and I use "guidelines" as merely that, guides, not a straight-jacket. As it stands, it is a fairly comprehensive review of the whole project, and has good links to other sources. Length is long (but not too long), and organization is far better than what was there before. I have considered splitting the article into two parts, probably a history part, and a current and future part. However, I'm resisting that as long as I can. As before, if you've suggestions, let me know. As to your concern with headings, I don't know what you're referring to. The TOC was too long because I had too many subheads, and I got complaints about that. So, I revised the format to shorten the TOC, and merely bolded the subtopics in each section. This makes it far more readable and referenceable. I don't see what else I should do to improve things here, so if you've suggestions please let me know. Thanks for your time and effort! This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project. Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here.
