Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Toothpaste, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Wikipedia doesn't generally link country names. See MOS:OVERLINK. Hi Belbury,
Thanks for your welcome. I'm learning and I'm going to take a look at your recommendations! I'm just getting familiar with everything. Melissa.tolu (talk) 15:22, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your priority should be explaining why you made ten very minor edits to Wikipedia over a period of four days and then, having become autoconfirmed, immediately restored a blocked user's contested edit to the croissant article. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Xiaomichel as linked below. Belbury (talk) 15:44, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! I was, trying to figure out what do I have to do with that "sockpuppetry".
Anyway, I can tell you what you are asking. I am new in wikipedia and I learned how to edit, add, revert, etc. I was reading about danish pastry and linked to croissant, where I decided to enter to the history of editions and I saw that @Silverleaf81 deleted a very important information that has several references, and doesn´t give any explanation regading why.
I saw the links of the references and the removed information is valid. You can also verify that. Melissa.tolu (talk) 16:29, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry investigation

[edit]

You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, then, if you wish to do so, respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Xiaomichel. Thank you. This edit is extremely unhelpful and the fact that you even thought to make it shows that you are completely unsuited to editing this site. Graham87 14:40, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Graham,
The information I added follows the current information "Significant quantities are grown in some tropical countries, and these are shipped by air to markets across the world". As you can see, it states that roses are grown and exported. Then, I simply add up in which countries it is produced and exported the most as a cut flower.
Could you kindly explain how I am completely unsuited to editing that? Melissa.tolu (talk) 15:01, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I'll take some of that back ... due to my use of a screen reader and my previous bad experiences with editors with your editing pattern, I thought you'd written "topics borders" rather than "top exporters", because they sound similar with a speech synthesiser. I'm still not sure if that edit was the best idea though, especially on such an important article; it can easily go out-of-date, for a start. I'm not going to unblock you yet because I'd like to know exactly what's going on ... are you part of a class and, if so, who is your instructor and what is their Wikipedia username? Graham87 14:51, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, now I understand why you said so.
I am not part of a class, I am just adding relevant information while investigating about roses. I am new in wikipedia and trying to learn how to use it and especially how to contribute positively. At some point I have to start, right? Melissa.tolu (talk) 15:16, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've unblocked you; sorry again about the way I acted before. If you want to practice linking, which I presume you were also doing before, please do not do it on articles; there are actually quite extensive guidelines on what can and cannot be linked here. Happy editing! Graham87 15:19, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I never even noticed the sockpuppetry messages last night my time ... Graham87 03:15, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
