Replaceable fair use File:Australia 108 proposal 3.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Australia 108 proposal 3.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -M.nelson (talk) 22:55, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:West Side Place design.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:West Side Place design.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 19:02, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!

My editing is NOT disruptive

These are reliable edits and if you search online, these are accurate. Please stop reversing my changes now. Rafin12345 (talk) 15:24, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Rafin12345: your editing is disruptive and I'll explain why. My warning to you was the third in a row about you needing to cite reliable sources when you edit/change content as you did not do at The One, and other articles prior. Wikipedia relies on its content to be reliable and verifiable — so far, the changes you've made are not verifiable, as they are unreferenced, and hence: not reliable.
Given you are the one making the changes, you (and only you) are responsible for adding these sources, per WP:ONUS. It is not for me or anyone to verify the content changes you make or to "search online" – that is for you to do. If you continue to add unreferenced content, despite these warnings, you may lose your editing privileges.
Furthermore, the The Skyscraper Center is a verifiable and up-to-date skyscraper database that is used on hundreds if not thousands of articles on Wikipedia. It is now in use on The One article (through its entry on the subject), and its data is very different to the unsourced data you have been adding. If you need help in how to reference, you're welcome to ask me. Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 01:31, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello! Úrsula Corberó she is in an relationship with Spanish actor Miguel Herrán, since 2017. Thank you for accepting my message and i hope that you will understand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anna Pask (talkcontribs) 11:52, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

@Anna Pask: they're not. You're probably going to get blocked for adding deliberate factual errors. Thanks, —MelbourneStartalk 11:55, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
But please, leave my edit as it was. Anna Pask (talk) 12:05, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
No. Wikipedia isn't here for you to make unconstructive edits. —MelbourneStartalk 12:13, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

Why my edit had been reversed

Can u please explain why my edit got reverse Anshul Srivastava.21 (talk) 12:58, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

I was editing that article before the reply but the Wikipedia told me someone has edited please try after sometime That's why edited afterward — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anshul Srivastava.21 (talkcontribs) 12:59, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

@Anshul Srivastava.21: I've self-reverted, given you probably did encounter an edit conflict. In future though, if you're going to edit your previous comments to remove statements/meaning (inline with WP:TALK#REPLIED) that you strikeout the content -- so others are aware of the changes you've made to your comments, especially if someone else has already responded to the original comment.
Having followed that discussion from afar, I'd also encourage you to re-read 331dot's comment which is a really fitting way to end the topic of discussion once and for all. Thanks, —MelbourneStartalk 13:22, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

melbourne star i am here on my main account to tell you why i reversed your edit (if you have not read my response not logged in). i will wait for a response from you Abdullah raji (talk) 08:57, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

@Abdullah raji: which edit does this concern? —MelbourneStartalk 13:15, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
so it was in litirature prize part where it said after "the nobel litirature prize has many controversies" it said "snubs" wich is very mean and violates the guidlines of wikipedia by not providing a completely neutral standpoint Abdullah raji (talk) 13:21, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
@Abdullah raji: so regarding this edit, "snubs" is not a violation of neutral point of view, as snub literally means "an act of rebuffing or ignoring someone or something" (quick Google search). Just as controversial wouldn't be a violation of neutrality (where perhaps in other contexts that word would be), to snub someone is to ignore them. —MelbourneStartalk 13:48, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
oh sorry Abdullah raji (talk) 13:50, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
but please make your words more clear Abdullah raji (talk) 13:50, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
@Abdullah raji: my words are in standard English, does not get any simpler. —MelbourneStartalk 02:31, 24 September 2022 (UTC)

You removed some of my work from Wikipedia page Jai Shri Ram, by giving a reason that I cannot use YouTube video link as a reference.

But according to WP:VIDEOREF, it was a fair use.

Was the video uploaded to internet by the original producer? -yes

Is it used for information? -yes

Is it to be used as a reference? -yes

Is it original producer a reliable source? -well absolutely,as they themselves made that movie.

Will it improve the article? -Ofcourse

Information I added: In 1957 movie named Ram Hanuman Yuddhaa "Jai Shri Ram" is clearly audible.

Reference i gave: [[1]]

The video in the YouTube link is the movie Ram Hanuman Yuddhaa (1954) uploaded by it's original producer (i.e Ultra Films).

What else would be the better citation than giving the link to original movie with timestamp where the given word "Jai Shri Ram" is spoken.

Moreover, the movie is older than 60 year, hence now in public domain would it be okay if just trim that part from movie and upload on Wikimedia and then cite here? AbhishekSaini1910 (talk) 17:46, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

I concur with everything that has already been said in the article's talk page discussion on this, re use of a primary source (versus a reliable secondary/independent source). That video provided I actually don't have access to (it may be geo-restricted - I'm in Australia - but I don't know that for sure). It's good that you're discussing your edits.
