I believe it is what you would have liked to have at your talk page now
[edit]- 'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where —' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat
- 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
'You must be,' said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't have come here.'

DYK for Peter pepper
[edit]On 1 April 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Peter pepper, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that red hot penises can be pickled, but it is recommended one not eat them? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Photo Media Publishing Request
[edit]Hello,
I'm impressed by your photos on the internet and since I'm working on a low-budget 15-min weekly science show on the national TV station in Slovenia, I would really appreciate if I could get a permission for publishing of a high-resolution photo of the reflection of a sea turtle like it is visible here:
http://marinej11.imascientist.org.uk/marine-and-underwater-science
I'm interested in (total) reflection as it appears in nature to connect the topic with an indoor experiment. I would be glad to mention the source of the image or your name. Please, let me know if you agree and where the photo can be downloaded.
Best regards,
Matic Jerman, scriptwriter and presenter TV Slovenia +386 1 475 2260
Hello,
My name is Rob Willard. I would like to ask if I may include some of your wonderful wildlife images from freestockphotos.biz and wikimedia to place inside a book I am making which will include photos that have been converted to 3D.
I will gladly add credits and a link to your website or other work. Hopefully if good enough the book will go on sale sometime in the summer in electronic-format.
Best regards,

FYI: Used your media file
[edit]This is a courtesy note. One of your media files is featured in a new commercial eBook in Apple’s iBooks store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/book/dr.-kemps-kids-love-bugs/id497852225?mt=11
I’ve contributed images to Wikipedia for over seven years now (including several POTD and Featured Images) and I designed the WikiSpecies logo. I respect your work here and the CC-BY-SA license we all labor under.
I know commercializing Wikipedia work is tricky and so I’ve taken great pains to follow your CC-BY-SA license requirements. I also plan to donate 10% of my proceeds to the Wikimedia Foundation directly. This is the very first self-published e-book created with Apple’s new tools and sold in the store.
I’ve given your file a credit line in the “Image and Video Credits” section starting at page 24 as required here: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License
This compilation features many of the finest Wikipedia media files in their exact form and not as derivative works. See: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Verbatim_copying_under_the_GFDL#Making_verbatim_copies_of_images
If I did alter your work -- such as cutting out an insect part or adding a video sound track -- I shared a Share Alike version of the new media in a DRM-free format and listed the web address in the credits section.
Thank you very much for uploading your work to Wikipedia and releasing it for the world to use in enriching educational formats.

- In six months the book has earned $293 and so I made a donation this morning to Wikipedia Foundation for $29.30. The book is now a featured selection in iTunes > Books > Textbooks > Science & Nature. Thanks again! jk (talk) 13:42, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

You did it!
[edit]I have been watching your contributions and your pictures for a few years now. You are definitely an interesting person, and a great photographer. I cannot say I liked everything you have done during your time here but your latest achievement amazed me. I mean this one "I understand, meanwhile, I don't feel ok about doing anything that might be taken as an admin action or warning in topic areas dealing with music. Other than dealing with straightforward stuff like 3rr and vandalism, I recuse at least for now." Not just any administrator but Gwen Gale herself does not feel comfortable "doing anything that might be taken as an admin action". You did it! Great! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.83.219 (talk) 21:08, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi Mila
I just wanted to say what amazing photos you have. I've added a couple of yours to a Squidoo lens on the black pearl. I just wanted to check that leaving your name and a link to you gallery was enough of an attribution. I find these licenses hard to understan and I'd like to use more of your pictures in the future without having to worry about copyright problems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lestroischenes (talk • contribs) 08:50, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Hello Mila,
I am a UK director working on a couple of episodes of a new documentary series for the Weather Channel USA, one of which is about the Titanic. We are filming with and acquaintance of yours, Tim Maltin, and he introduced me to your work.
We are very interested in using one of your images in the programme that feature in Tim’s book, A Very Deceiving Night, and I’m writing to see if this could be possible.
The image we are interested in is of a night time superior mirage at sea.
I’d be very grateful if you could get in touch and let me know if you’d be willing to let us feature the image. We will, of course, credit you for your work.
Kind regards,
Gareth.

request for permissions
[edit]Hello,
I am a researcher in Biophysics at the University of Leeds in the UK. My group is particularly interested in life in extreme environments, and we have been invited to write a short review paper about our approach in studying this subject. Whilst searching for striking images of extreme environments (such as very hot, very cold, salty, alkaline or acidic ones), I came across your image on wikimedia http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mono_lake_tufa.JPG The image is very visually appealing, and illustrates nicely an environment with a high salt concentration, where life still exists. Therefore, I was wondering what you thought about granting us permission to use your image as one of four or six example images in the first figure of our review? We would, of course, credit you in the publication. If you have any other images of extreme environments (alkaline, acidic, underwater, etc.) that you would be happy for us to use, we would be very grateful.
Please let me know either way. I understand if you prefer for us not to use your image, and will find a suitable alternative elsewhere.
Many thanks in advance,
Kasia Tych

Speedy deletion nomination of List of Jewish Nobel laureates
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of Jewish Nobel laureates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. jps (talk) 19:07, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
