If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Yesoe Yoon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.yesoeyoon.com/yesoe-yoon.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2601:188:0:ABE6:489F:358E:490D:8C66 (talk) 02:30, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Matt Farag. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See WP:PAID. Thank you. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 04:50, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yesoe Yoon

[edit]

Please stop editing Yesoe Yoon. You have a clear conflict of interest in this article and should not be editing it. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 04:56, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me sir, but you are into more conflict of interests as you contribute to articles in regards to South Asia. Many years ago, she was interviewed by Pakistani media. Also go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmo9GckLUI. Matt Farag (talk) 00:21, 15 September 2019 (CT)
Sorry, but what you write above is incoherent. Yesoe Yoon is a Chicago politician, so this article is not about South Asia. Even if it was, I have no conflict of interest in regards to South Asia. What could possibly make you think that? You, however, have written a book about Yoon: [1], and quite likely have an ongoing relationship with her. The very definition of an actual conflict of interest. The YouTube link you give is not an independent, published source. You really need to read and understand some of the basic rules of Wikipedia before you continue editing articles here. If you continue to edit while holding a clear conflict of interest, I will bring the matter to the attention of the administrators for further action. I suggest you tell User:SatYoon to abide by the requirements of WP:COI as well. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 05:29, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Anything wrong if her profile is high in the Chicago area, as it's the third largest US City after New York and LA starting with the 1990 census, as she is also well known in Korean medai? I only write about one thing as I would probably not write anymore articles on Wikipedia, at least, for the next five years. Plus, everyone has said so far that this article is good or just told you that it needs review. Now, what if she wins office? She will automatically have an article. If Lily Kim is not as high profile with less sources, then she should definitely have an article. (Here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Lily_Kim) Matt Farag (talk) 00:42, 15 September 2019 (CT)
I note you failed to address the substantive points in my reply. Not surprising, as you made completely fact-free and unsustainable arguments. I never said there was anything wrong with her being a politician in Chicago. I have never said anything remotely like that. Please address the core issue: you have an obvious conflict of interest when writing about Yoon. You have not followed any of the requirements outlined in the Wikipedia policy on dealing with conflicts of interest. Have you even read it? You are required to follow this policy. Please stop putting up obvious straw-man arguments and baseless accusations and actually follow policy. Thank you. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 05:47, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If that's the case, then you too must have a conflict of interest if that's all you edit. So you may keep quiet on this. Matt Farag (talk) 00:50, 15 September 2019 (CT)

If what is the case? Have you seen my editing? You can see my list of contributions, just as I can see yours. Take a look: [2]. What exactly is it that you think is "all I edit". What conflict of interest do you think I have and on which of the 11,500+ edits I have made do you think I have a conflict on? I have no conflict of interest about Yoon. You have written a book about her, and likely were paid to do so. When are you going to address that issue, rather than throwing completely unfounded and untrue accusations at me? The Mirror Cracked (talk) 06:03, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify misunderstandings. I just thought it was worth writing a book about an inspiring person, nothing else. She never paid me to do anything, even now, nor did I volunteer. Most importantly, her profile is already high in the Chicago area. Matt Farag (talk) 22:07, 15 September 2019 (CT)

Good, glad to hear that you aren't being paid. It is, you must admit, a startling coincidence that User:SatYoon started Draft:Yesoe Yoon on 11 August, spent the day editing it, then the next day you picked it up and worked on it. It was your second edit ever, and it happened four years after you last edited. What are the odds that after not editing here for four years you just happened to stumble upon the draft of the article about the subject of your book, started by the subject (or maybe a relative?) less than a day after she created it, and just carried on where she left off. Good thing I am not a cynical person, or I would suspect there was co-ordination between the two of you. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 04:19, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Never changed my ID. Can't see anything wrong with the article being there in regards to Wikipedia standards, as I was adding value to Wikipedia while improving on a subject. Matt Farag (talk) 23:50, 15 September 2019 (CT) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.22.19.208 (talk)

Well, it contravenes WP:COI, WP:N, WP:RS, WP:BIO, WP:OR, WP:NPOV and WP:V. So, I disagree with your statement. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 06:24, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yesoe Yoon, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Indonesian, Northbrook and Easter Seals (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
