Sockpuppet investigation
[edit]An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mark Mireles, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Sockpuppetry
[edit]I have closed the case at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mark Mireles in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator. In this case, due to your comments and your account's new age, I am assuming that your decision was made in good faith. Therefore, the only action I am going to take is to give you advice about sockpuppetry. The policy about using multiple accounts, or sockpuppetry as it is commonly known on Wikipedia, is Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry. Editors are generally expected to use one account. However, using multiple accounts is not necessarily against policy. It becomes an issue when the accounts are misused. A list of what is and what isn't a appropriate use of multiple accounts can be found in the policy, but unless you have need to, it is a good idea to stick to one account. In any case, unless the account is used for privacy, accounts you control should be connected in a clear way.
In this case, I strongly recommend using with one account from now on. If you do decide to use both accounts in a legitimate way, please ensure that you don't use the accounts in any of the ways listed in the policy as inappropriate. I'm happy to answer questions you may have about sockpuppetry here or at my talk page. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 23:22, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

This page is about a public figure Mark Mireles with historical and factual references. Those events credited to Mark are from police reports and news sources. His professional writing section is linked to all his books, should those be referenced and not linked to their Amazon pages? Could I have some more clarity on how to remedy this from looking and feeling more like an advertisement. I am writing pointing out his accomplishments with references. I am very new to creating a Wikipedia page and any guidance to get this published would be a lifesaver for me, and a good learning opportunity as well.
COI notice
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you.
