Your edits on 4Info

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you've been very active on the article 4INFO
It seems you are linked to this company and therefore your edits are subject to the conflict of interest editing policies - explained here.
Please read and familiarise yourself with it. If you seek any further assistance or clarification, you can get guidance at the Teahouse.
In the meantime, I will be checking and editing the article to help improve it and will continue to monitor it.

  • confused* Who's this? TY for editing. I have no problem with the result. Wikipedia editors in Articles for Creation were very helpful. I see a spelling error. I don't plan to edit anything other than that.

MarkMillerITPro (talk) 04:35, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mark, I notice you are still almost exclusively working on the 4INFO article. I can appreciate your keenness to use all the Wikipedia 'bells and whistles' but, in my view, the article is becoming over-worked. You've requested other people check your work (and as you know, I've already made some amendments). Because you have a possible conflict of interest (COI) it might be sensible to broaden your work on Wikipedia and maybe help with other articles instead. I'm sure you have useful knowledge and expertise to contribute!
I'm simply trying to avoid you getting into trouble. Personally I think it is excellent that you have been honest and open on your User page about your motives. However, many other editors have no tolerance for any form of COI and may begin to take a dim view.
On a separate note, it helps other editors if you leave edit summaries to explain what you have changed/added/removed. If you're doing something very uncontroversial (like correcting a spelling mistake) you can just tick the 'minor edit' box. Otherwise it is good practice to always leave a summary of what you've done. Sionk (talk) 16:57, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I have been dropping the ball on leaving summaries. *chuckle* I do like experimenting with bells and whistles. Yikes! trouble. You're right. Thank you for clear communication. MarkMillerITPro (talk) 17:03, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shoot, forgot to leave a summary on that last minor edit. MarkMillerITPro (talk) 06:22, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:29, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 4INFO, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Compliance. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your User page content

[edit]

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear about your wife's health and, of course, I hope her treatment is completely successful. However, I should warn you that you are straying away from what is acceptable content for your User page. It is not meant to be used as a diary or blog (particularly extensive personal info about other people). You can see what is and what isn't acceptable at Wikipedia:User pages#What may I not have in my user pages?. While I completely understand you will want to explain on your User page that your family is dealing with a major issue, the 'diary' element is best removed and carried on elsewhere (or at least not carried on any further) ...maybe you need to start a blog on a blogging site? All the very best. Sionk (talk) 11:50, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

TY! I'll look at that later. I'm confused about the slogans. The new slogans are on the new web. Or do I put back the old slogans? MarkMillerITPro (talk) 18:10, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Before the inevitable wailing and gnashing of teeth occurs, I'll explain this for you and anyone else watching in more detail. A user who has made 900 edits all basically about one page (currently 755 to 4INFO, and most of the rest of your edits are asking for help or asking questions about it) and who then creates this years later with all the promotional sourcing and churnalism and buzzwords is not here to build a neutral encyclopedia free of native advertising. As such, I have made it so you can't edit Wikipedia at all. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:51, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ZipRecruiter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. *confused*

[edit]

User talk:Sionk I'm very confused. imo the page ZipRecruiter I published is neutral. I'm blocked and can't write on your talk page. MarkMillerITPro (talk) 21:29, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I thought I explained this above, but I'll explain again: I'm assuming you are familiar with the term native advertising and if you aren't, you are clearly very familiar with the technique. This is why you were blocked. You created a fluff page using sources that only serve the interest of the company, including some that were likely bought by them. Additionally, 4INFO is refbombed and is written in a way that clearly puts them in the best light while trying to come off as purely informational. Taking the entirety of your editing history into account, it is very clear that you are here to promote companies. That's against our policies, so you are blocked.
