Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Marin Magazine, and I noticed that your username, "Mmstaff", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.

Will changing a username delete a page that's been created? Mmstaff (talk) 17:35, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. Users and articles are separate. Even after this account is blocked, others can still edit the article. However, you still need to abide by conflict of interest policies and promotional policies. Your new account user page should plainly disclose your interest (employee of Marin Magazine, etc.), however. You should definitely read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations before editing Marin Magazine. There is a section that discusses I think my organization deserves an article on Wikipedia but none exists. What can I do?.
I'm looking forward to your future contributions to Wikipedia in areas outside of the company you work for or the product you work on. Stesmo (talk) 17:45, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would really like to know why a lot of the information obtained from other websites was removed? Thank you! MarinFan14 (talk) 21:48, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, MarinFan14. Are you referring to the changes made to Marin Magazine by User:Randykitty? If so, to see what the edits were and why, you can click on the View History tab of any article to see the list of edits and the comment made by the editor doing the editing. You can also select two different edits and click the Compare button to see what the exact changes were between those two edits.
Almost anyone can edit (nearly) anything on Wikipedia. People with different opinions, standards and/or insights may come along and edit something you or I edit. Editors will commonly edit articles to fit into Wikipedia's Policies and Guidelines. and The best way to find out *why* changes are made is to click on the Talk tab of the article or visit the Talk page of the editor making the changes and ask. In this case, it's Talk:Marin_Magazine and User_talk:Randykitty.Stesmo (talk) 22:11, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Marin Magazine article

[edit]

Hi, MarinFan14! I removed your PROD deletion as I disagreed with the rationale (templates at the top of the page still exist). You can remove those templates from the top of the page yourself if you feel that the conditions no longer apply. Be sure to include why you're removing them in your Edit Summary. If another editor disagrees, they may add them back. Either way, you can always go to the Talk page of the article and discuss the article and the templates, too. {{Multiple issues|{{COI|date=August 2014}}{{primary sources|date=August 2014}}{{notability|date=August 2014}}}} are the templates that result in the box on the page. If you believe the primary sources issue is resolved, just remove the {{primary sources|date=August 2014}} section, for example. Stesmo (talk) 23:27, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Stesmo. Please delete the Marin Magazine article. I have been unable to resolve the issues and don't think I can find substantial information to adhere to the requests. Thank you. MarinFan14 (talk) 22:08, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your proposed deletion reason was nonsense and contained a false statement about another editor. Please start an WP:AFD discussion if you wish to delete the article. --NeilN talk to me 00:24, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Marin Magazine. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:15, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Marin Magazine. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Stating that another editor is a banned user, when that claim is false, is a personal attack. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:17, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Marin Magazine for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Marin Magazine is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marin Magazine (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:33, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
