Not great How the horrors of the past are used to justify the horrors of today. Part (talk) 12:58, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

I noticed you do some vandalism reversion. Would you like the rollback tool? If you do, let me know. Keep up the good work. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 20:37, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I'll have a look and think about it. Thanks. Mangwanani (talk) 20:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Herald

Hi, I would like to know how it is possible to use the Zimbabwe Herald newspaper, or online version as a reference. For some reason they get rid of their articles after one or two days, and the references don't work as a result.--HandGrenadePins (talk) 09:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Emblem of Tibet

Would it be possible to upload http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Image:Coat_of_Arms_of_Tibet.png on commons http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page ? Could you please do this? --Rédacteur Tibet (talk) 19:21, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I copy and paste http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Coat_of_Arms_of_Tibet.png --Rédacteur Tibet (talk) 19:39, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Some on the "french wiki" proposed to change the name "Embleme du Tibet" into "Embleme du gouvernement tibetain en exil" (emblem of Tibetan Governement in exile). Do you have any reference showing that the Emblem of Tibet was used (and therefore created) in Tibet ? With thanks --Rédacteur Tibet (talk) 11:23, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

SADC AGREEMENT

I appreciate the good work you are doing concerning Zimbabwe.l would like to kindly know what makes your opinion concerning such a historic document not count for the respective parties and people mentioned? The reason for wikipedia is for information purposes for everybody in the world and i believe shall play a vital role for historic purposes. If you deleted these agreements, can you please put them where you think there are supposed to be placed, and instead of just deleting someones work, which is difficult and time consuming process of obtaining the information.Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekhaya2000 (talkcontribs) 09:47, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Doctors intro.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Doctors intro.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Icons and Economy

Hi. Two things. One can you take Template:Economy of Zimbabwe under your wing and fill it with notable articles related to the Economy of Zimbabwe. Second. I see you did a great job creating Template:Politician icon. Could you fix the Template:Scientist icon so it works and with the choice of flag produces this image with the flag in background Count Blofeld 14:23, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. Best of luck and keep up the good work with Zimbabwe. You may also be interested to know I started Wikipedia:WikiProject Zimbabwe/District templates which needs development but haven't got around to it yet. Feel free to fill in the templates also and help start the municipalities of Zimbabwe. Count Blofeld 17:08, 30 November 2008 (UTC).

Hi, I've begun applying improvements to the Velology article in the same way I have done to Banknotes of Zimbabwe for months. I know it's a British article about licence discs, but I think the discs themselves has the same value as a stamp or a banknote. What do you think?

BTW, can you help in optimizing my tax disc images in Velology for fair use in the same manner as a banknote please? Thanks! --Marianian (talk) 23:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Cholera map

Fantastic work there. If you want to update, more info at http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/fullMaps_Af.nsf/luFullMap/15C6F368A1E26ABAC1257515002A845D/$File/map.pdf?OpenElement and http://www.alertnet.org/thefacts/satelliteimages/122832026384.htm and http://www.who.int/entity/hac/crises/zmb/appeal/zimbabwe_cholera_advocacy_1dec2008.pdf The former is an ICRC map and appears to be excluded from UN free use policy or I would have uploaded it. Babakathy (talk) 18:30, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

I'd use your new version and mention the different sources in the caption. Babakathy (talk) 19:11, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

What did you use to produce the new southern Africa map? I did mine in ArcView but could only export as jpg, hence low res on mine. Plus your projection is, I think, preferable. Babakathy (talk) 08:54, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Am also trying to get this to GA status. Thanks for your work. One nice thing is it is attracting new/anon editors (as well as the vandals) Babakathy (talk) 09:18, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

No further update today. How frequently do we want to update the information: UNOCHA has daily reports (often on web every 2 days) and I can update the graphs very quickly, but doing this daily presumably will consume a fair amount of server space before long. Babakathy (talk)
Adding SA to map would be great: Vhembe District is marked on this map. Babakathy (talk) 23:35, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Going through latest info it might be better to show districts rather than wards. Note: infections in Kadoma appear confined to Kadoma urban. Is it possible to add Mossurize District in Moz and Kafue District in Zambia, as the other districts where people have died?

As of 17 Dec, the following districts are now also infected: Hurungwe, Bindura rural, Mt Darwin, Mangwe (Plumtree S), Mutasa, Rushinga, Zaka. Also Gweru and Kadoma are urban cases only. Babakathy (talk) 12:51, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Moved provinces list into text, or would a table be better?Babakathy (talk) 14:13, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Leave the district borders on the map, I think it helps. I could put references in the admin section to the relevant acts of parliament, I guess that can work.Babakathy (talk) 21:53, 12 December 2008 (UTC). Done. Babakathy (talk) 23:09, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Managed to get web links to the constitution and some legislation. You get to the constitution via the "useful resources" link on the Zim parliament page. Bizarrely, there is another link just called "resources". Presumably not useful ones... Indeed, they are mainly dead or unborn links! Babakathy (talk) 19:20, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

FAC

Hi, I saw that you appear to be a first-time nominator at FAC. Welcome! A first nomination at FAC is often a bit rough, because it can be hard to figure out what the requirements actually mean. It really does get easier after this! Please don't be discouraged that your article has generated opposes, or that several of us have suggested the nomination be withdrawn. You are getting some good feedback, and have now made contacts with reviewers who might be willing to look over the article during a future peer review. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to ask. I hope you become a familiar face at FAC in the future! Karanacs (talk) 19:22, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I echo Karanacs' welcome and urge you to renominate the article and work on it some. Zimbabwe is a timely topic and one that needs a lot of attention. The horror of the cholera outbreak caught my attention in the New York Times last week. Many frequent article contributors had a few attempts at getting an article through during the first or second try, myself included. When you think the article is ready, let me know and I'll review the images. --Moni3 (talk) 19:46, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Zimbabwe $1000 22d 2003 Reverse.jpg)

You've uploaded File:Zimbabwe $1000 22d 2003 Reverse.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:39, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --09:58, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I believe the bot cannot recognise page moves so this is likely to have been caused only by the name change. The solution is to update the rationale to point to the current name of the article.--Marianian (talk) 17:31, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
I have updated the information for File:Zimbabwe $10m DA 2008 Obverse.jpg. I would suggest that doing this for all of them, using the fair use template as I did, should resolve the problem. Babakathy (talk) 19:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

File:Zimbabwe $2 1980 Obverse.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Zimbabwe $2 1980 Obverse.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. This is a test case to determine if the other Zimbabwe curency images should be deleted. —teb728 t c 02:14, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

So I guess what we need now is to use the specimen images for the currency in current usage? Babakathy (talk) 06:34, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I have started a discussion on this issue at meta. Babakathy (talk) 08:10, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

When you have a chance:

  1. All districts in Manicaland, Mashonaland W, E & C, Masvingo and Midlands now have cases
  2. Mat S: add Plumtree (s ward)
  3. Mat N: add Lupane, Binga

If you are not in a position to do this for now, please drop me a message and I'll temporarilly put up a raster image (not as good, but would do for now). Babakathy (talk) 04:55, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Did what I should have done ages ago and got inkscape. Thanks for introducing me to it! Babakathy (talk) 07:53, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Dams of Zimbabwe, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Dams of Zimbabwe has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Dams of Zimbabwe, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 10:18, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

That was me, there is also Category:Dams in Zimbabwe, which has commonscat link. Babakathy (talk) 10:32, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Have redirected old to new. Mangwanani (talk) 14:37, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Flag of Harare, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.flags-of-the-world.net/flags/zw-harar.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:45, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Flag of Harare

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. ttonyb1 (talk) 19:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ttonyb1 (talk) 19:10, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

You probably want to remove the hangon tag from the article. I removed the SD tag before you added. The issues were this:
  • You as the author should not have removed the SD tag from the article. A hangon tag would have triggered a review of the article and the SD would have been subsequently dropped.
  • When the article was created there was a obvious copyright violation that I review and tagged. After reviewing the changes you made I removed it.
ttonyb1 (talk) 19:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

File:Grace_Mugabe.jpg

Hi! We cannot continue to use the file; since Grace Mugabe is still alive, a free image could be made of her. Therefore the rationale you used for the picture is not allowed and the image will be speedy deleted without discussion. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:12, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

  • For Grace Mugabe what you need is a picture of her. As long as she is alive it is presumed that one can make a free image of her. Once she dies if no free images are in existence one can use a non-free image to represent her. WhisperToMe (talk) 14:32, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:1 Zimbabwe Dollar 2008.jpg

File:1 Zimbabwe Dollar 2008.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Zimbabwe Dollar Note 2008.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Zimbabwe Dollar Note 2008.jpg]]. 3. Movement for Democratic Change – Mutambara
  4. Movement for Democratic Change - as a disambiguation page

I think this better reflects the current political dispensation and avoids confusion from readers new to the topic, as discussed on the talk page. So far, all that has been done is redistributing the existing text between the three articles, copyediting and (some) link-fixing in other articles. I'd appreciate it, if you have time, for you to take a look at the three articles for any mistakes I have made, plus naturally to continue imporving the article. Thanks. Zim Ministers Infoboxes

Which of course is good work! What's the difference between the Hon and the Right Hon, when applied to cabinet ministers? Babakathy (talk) 15:02, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I think "the Hon" applies to all MPs. At least I've heard it used by MPs referring to other MPs who have no other positions. Maybe we should use "Right Hon" for all ministers? Babakathy (talk) 19:21, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
I think in cases where we are unsure, we should leave it for the moment but find a definite answer. Mangwanani (talk) 19:51, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

In the UK context, Right Hon(ourable) means that the person concerned is a member of the Privy Council. Not sure what the equivalent would be in Zimbabwe.213.202.149.81 (talk) 04:24, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

vandalism (I think) in Zimbabwe page

Hi, In the Independence Section, it says "In February 1981 there was a second uprising, which spread to Glenville and also to Connemara in the Midlands."

I think the latter part of the sentence is vandalism, isn't it ? ? ?

As you seem to be a regular Editor and have made the last update to the page I was unwilling to revert the page myself as it would remove your (good) updates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.202.149.81 (talk) 04:22, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Nope, it's true actually. I have not heard of Glenville, but Connemara is a place between Gweru and Kwekwe. Babakathy (talk) 16:48, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Have heard of both places and have been to both places. But not sure about the accuracy of the uprising spreading to these areas. May want to find a source for this information to verify it. Google books is usually good for this sort of thing... Mangwanani (talk) 21:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Coat of Arms of Tibet.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Coat of Arms of Tibet.png.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Spain A4.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:37, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

The file that was clearly in public domain got transferred to Commons, then got deleted suddenly, as shown here. Does it appear to be a false positive? Thanks. --Marianian(talk) 08:51, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

I have clarified the problem at my talk page. You may also wish to know that since the dollar is currently suspended, the notes of the third and fourth dollars are also technically PD. --Marianian(talk) 20:57, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Mangwanani! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 140 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Desmond Dube - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Alfred Ntombela - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Incorrect information on Timothy Stamps

Hi Mangwanani, I'd like to discuss some points in the "Timothy Stamps" Wiki with you. There are a few incorrect "facts". These are some of the items:
1. Dr Stamps was born in London, raised in Wales.
2. Minister of H&W from 1990, not 1986.
3. Arrived in Rhodesia in 1968, not 1962.
4. He was on the city council from 1979 to 1990.
This information is from Dr Stamps himself and I am yet to source references. I was hoping you would help with this as, for one, im new to Wikipedia editing ;)
I also have some other information that might be useful? I should point out that I might be considered as one who is "biased" because of my relation to "the subject". Im sorry for the very late input.

Template:Business icon2 has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Mhiji (talk) 19:54, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

The article Wolfgang Nastainczyk has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Mhiji (talk) 02:49, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Please don't use Template:Infobox Christian leader as a sandbox. We have a Template:Infobox Christian leader/sandbox for experimentation. Thank you. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:50, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Since you didn't get the message, I have reverted your most recent malformed edits, and fully protected the template. Please discuss your plans on the talk page, gain consensus, then implement. It is clear that you don't understand how the template actually works. For example, adding an image to the caption section is not what you want here. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 19:15, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
FYI, this is closer to what you actually want. In case you are wondering, here are the reasons why your version didn't work: (1) This parameters you added are being passed to {{infobox}}, which has a |image2=, but no |CoA=, hence the parameters you added were being ignored, (2) there was no need to create a {{CoA}} template. The {{Image}} template was doing exactly what you want, namely, stripping off the leading "File" or "Image" from the image. I would argue that we don't even need the {{image}} template, since most templates don't use it. Editors are smart enough to know that you shouldn't include the leading "File:" or "Image:" when it doesn't work out correctly. (3) the |imagesize= and |alt= were for the main image. There is no reason to use the same size or alternative text for both images. And, in fact, you realized this since you set the default to 150px, which is different from the main image. If you have any more questions, let me know. But, please refrain from name calling. It doesn't help. I will be more than happy to implement a working version of a coat of arms image to the infobox if there are no objections in the next couple days. By the way, my choice for |image_coa= rather than |CoA= is mostly due to field name conventions from other templates, and the general recent trend away from CaMeLcAsE. Thank you. License tagging for File:Dolan coa.gif

Thanks for uploading File:Dolan coa.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Replaceable fair use File:Alex Kaliyanil.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Alex Kaliyanil.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. Thanks for uploading File:Diocese of East Anglia.png.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:18, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

User:Mangwanani/infobox

Hello, I'm trying to clean out Category:Infobox person using a missing image. Now that {{Infobox Christian leader}} exists, would you mind deleting User:Mangwanani/infobox and User:Mangwanani/infobox/doc? Regards 14:16, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

The article Glory Mukwati has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Whilst elected politicians at national level are notable, I'm not convinced that candidates for elected office are.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. File:Mangwanani7358.jpg missing description details

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Mangwanani7358.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

Walkowiak is not yet a bishop of anywhere yet. As such, use of such things as {{Infobox Christian leader}} and "Roman Catholic bishop" categories are inappropriate. I have reverted the article to its essential biographical elements about the priest as is his current status. Elizium23 (talk) 15:57, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Notification of automated file description generation

Your upload of File:Abel Muzorewa .jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! A Call to Action

Dear Mangwanani, {{help me))Thanks for your help with the above page. I must apologise for my inexperience with Wikipedia. You have made very helpful suggestions on the user page/talk page, and I am trying to incorporate them. May I first explain that I am not an employee of the A Call to Action movement, but I am a member, and I am not a membership of the leadership team but only Coordinator of a local diocesan group. I cannot believe that this gives me a disabling bias. I offered to set the Wiki article in motion for the organization as I knew how important it is and they seemed to know even less about it than me. However the leadership team did ask me not to put any criticism in my article, so I have gone astray there. I have now tried to correct this. I am also inexperienced in formatting Wiki (basically I am nearly 70, and can't seem to do it). I did employ a freelancer (ahms90) from Spain to format and put the article up. I am now not sure whether he put himself as administrator or me, and I don't know how to find out. Would you be able to help me edit the last version of this, as it appears on Wiki. I am still not sure how to send it to you. I have now had discussions with the person who has had a kind of editing war with me. He is a keen opponent of A Call to Action has recently been banned from our national website because other users have complained about his aggressive tone. I did object to his reference to a bishop who supported us who has had to resign because of an unrelated matter and also to his mentioning by name members of the leadership team who have written on subjects he disapproved of. I have however accepted some of his more general changes. I have also not accepted his change from 'conservative' opposition to 'orthodox' opposition, as I feel the latter is biased and begs the question. What should I do if he continues to re-edit every day. With best wishes and thanks Tomcapa1 (talk) 14:45, 10 November 2014 (UTC) Help me this page has also been proposed for deletion on grounds which do not seem fair to me, and I would be grateful if you take a lot at that and have any advice to offer-- I have contested it of course Tomcapa1 (talk) 12:22, 11 November 2014 (UTC) """Comment""" Please can you tell me if it was you who deleted this article or someone else. I was not informed that this had happened except later by a third party who had tried to find the article. I do not accept the claim that there was a conflict of interest: I took the initiative in suggesting to A Call to Action that there should be a page, not them and I am not employed by them nor their agent. Please advise on action. Tomcapa1 (talk) 14:35, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

A Call to Action

Help me-- I am just checking that you have got my messages on the above topic-- the page has now been suggested for deletion, and this seems unfair to me and I would appreciate advice. Tomcapa1 (talk) 12:24, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Help me: Did Mangwanani, on the deletions page I have explained that I have added material that seems to me significant. When you first contacted me you said you would help me with formatting, as I am not very familiar with it. Is that offer still open? If so how shall I get the latest version of my page to you for help-- it is, after all, a short page! Tomcapa1 (talk) 17:05, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

PS It is the referencing in text that I still find it hard to follow.

Bold text Comment-- Hello, well you say A Call to Action is small, with 1500 members, but I don't what comparisons for UK Catholic groups you have in mind. Note that as requested I have added new references to show our Chair was interviewed on BBC radio 4 Today programme -- perhaps the most important national radio news programme, and appears on the BBC new website. I am not sure that you fully appreciate that the Tablet and the Catholic Herald are national Catholic papers, and that the former has world-wide influence. I am still working on the referencing and may have to hire a freelancer again to help briefly. ""'Comment I note again that you have not responded to my points: widespread coverage in the national Catholic press, entries on BBC news and reflections of this booming new movement in the conservative Catholic Herald. Your claim that most young Catholics are conservative is totally unevidenced and counter-intuitive . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomcapa1 (talkcontribs) 16:51, 27 November 2014 (UTC) Tomcapa1 (talk) 17:56, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Comment'Comment But is this entry by Mangwanani (talk) 20:20, 24 November 2014 (UTC) -- I assumed so, but it isn't signed is it? It appeared to be an answer to what I sent him but if I am wrong I apologise Tomcapa1 (talk) 18:04, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Comment @Mangwanani (talk) 20:20, 24 November 2014 (UTC Please that none of the references you have given support the claim that the majority of young Catholics are traditionalists -- they refer to 'scores of activists'. I note that the English and Wales Latin Mass Society has only 5000 members, and that article is surely written by an agent of the society. Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to John Arnold (bishop) does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Elizium23 (talk) 21:32, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Cut and paste move

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give A Call To Action (British Catholic association) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into A Call To Action. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October.
