Randykitty seems to be very busy and I have a question about updating an image on the English Isis journal page. I will post my question below:
Dear Randykitty,
The cover for the journal Isis is outdated, and I intended to replace it by the current cover image (I contacted the publisher, and they confirmed I can do this under 'fair use').
The current cover image description page, however, says the image is not replaceable. I do not see a link saying 'update current version', neither do I see a link to Wikipedia Commons. Now, I do not know how to replace the image by the latest version of the journal cover.
Can you help me updating the cover (which design was completely changed as of the March 2015 issue already)?
Thanks!
Kind regards,

Hi, if you go to the image (here) there's a link to "Upload a new version of this file" at the end of the section "File history". Hope this helps. --Randykitty (talk) 16:40, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't see such link. Under "Non-free media information and use rationale for Isis (journal)", it says: "Replaceable? none" and under "File History", it says: “You cannot overwrite this file.” Is that the reason I do not see the link that you mentioned? If I search for 'new' on the page you referred me to, no results appear, so now I do not know how to proceed. What should I do in order to replace the old cover by a new one?
I hope you can help me. Thanks.

Thanks!!!
- As an anti-spam measure, uploading new images (or updating images) is restricted to "autoconfirmed" users, that is, ones whose accounts are at least four days old and have at least ten edits. To me it seems your most recent edits on this talk page may have pushed you above that limit. Maybe you want to re-check whether you can now see the link at the bottom of the "File history" section? By the way, "Replacable: none" means the image cannot be replaced by a freely licensed one (because every cover of Isis is copyrighted); it doesn't mean the image cannot be replaced at all. - If you still cannot update the image yourself, you can ask for others to do so on your behalf at WP:Files for upload. A link to the file page (
[[:File:Isis (journal).gif]]
, with a leading colon, which will look like File:Isis (journal).gif) will help others find what image, specifically, you would like replaced. Huon (talk) 13:14, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Dear Huon,
Thank you so much! I finally managed to replace the cover image.
