This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Martin Slocombe, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.bathcityfc.com/slocombe.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:04, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Scott Brice (footballer)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Scott Brice (footballer), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails both WP:NOTE and WP:ATHLETE

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Weymouth players[edit]

You might be a bit puzzled as to why you are getting a series of messages about deletion nominations. The longstanding consensus on articles for footballers is that generally speaking, non-league players do not merit articles. Sometimes confusion arises because some players currently in non-league have articles. However, these players have typically have articles because they have played League football in the past. Players who have spent their full senior career in non-league do not generally have articles. Hope this helps. Oldelpaso (talk) 11:52, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes[edit]

Hello. When you update footballers' infoboxes, please would you also update the date field (pcupdate =) when you do the stats. This will display the date and time when the stats were correct, so it's misleading if they get out of synch. The easiest way is to replace the existing contents of the pcupdate field with ~~~~~, which the software will automatically turn into the current date and time. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 23:18, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jamie McGuinness[edit]

Hi, why did you remove the fact that Jamie McGuinness is on loan from Rushden & Diamonds in the Weymouth squad section? --Jimbo[online] 15:45, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Any particular reason, or are you just going to keep ignoring me? --Jimbo[online] 13:46, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You can do, but common practise and consensus is to add an "other" parameter to the squad for additional deatails i.e. if they're on loan, captain, player/manager etc, so I will still be adding the details in the fs template. Why are you so against it anyway? --Jimbo[online] 17:38, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's for players out on loan only as they don't have anyone in on loan. Seems to me a case of JUSTDONTLIKEIT. --Jimbo[online] 18:22, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
McGuiness fails WP:ATHLETE so it would more than likely be deleted. As I stated before, just because you don't like something, that is not a valid reason for deleting it. If you look at WikiProject FOOTY's manual of style template for football clubs, it clearly includes the loan in brackets in the fs template. Oh and one last thing, after leaving a message sign it by typing ~~~~ at the end. Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 23:09, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you go ahead and remove content after I have showed you policies and guidelines that support my reasoning? --Jimbo[online] 23:35, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree entirely with Jimbo on this issue. Please read all the links that have been provided above and below. I realise you may not be familiar with how wikipedia works, but repeatedly removing this info is disruptive and will inevitably lead to admin intervention. Weymouth F.C.[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Weymouth F.C.. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Barret (talk) 19:06, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, it appears you are ignoring the above notice. Could you explain why you keep removing this [1] information from the current squad section of this article? If you look at other football club articles, this is the standard way to include additional info about the players. I am trying to assume you are unaware of wikipedia policies and are making these edits in good faith but your failure to enter into discussion with other editors is rather poor etiquette. Barret (talk) 15:04, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jerry Gill[edit]

Hello. Last night you deleted the career stats table and the references section from the Jerry Gill article. You may have noticed the words "Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page, but the references will not show without a <references/> tag" in big blue and red print at the bottom of the page after your last edit. I'm assuming this was a mistake, but please could you be more careful another time. Thanks, Struway2 (talk) 09:43, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Date of last update in infoboxes[edit]

Hello. When you update Weymouth player stats in the infobox, please will you also update the "correct as of" date at the same time. This is easily done by typing five tildes ~~~~~ in place of the existing date at pcupdate= (or club-update= in the new infoboxes). If you don't, it means the stats are misleading to the reader: it'd be pretty silly to have an infobox saying someone had played 10 games for a club as of a date before he even joined them. There are notes in most of the Weymouth player infoboxes reminding editors about this, so persistent failure to do so could be considered as disruptive editing. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:01, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

March 2010[edit]

Is there any particular reason why you have removed this tag again? The history of the club from 1890 to 1987 any forms only tiny part of this section -- it is clearly slanted towards the past couple of seasons. Barret (talk) 13:50, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ollie Tribe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ATHLETE having never appeared in a fully-professional league

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Barret (talk) 13:37, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{dated prod}} As the player could well be soon moving into the higher leagues of english football so i thought i could start his page now. Any chance of letting me develop more as the season goes on?.
He has only just broken into the Weymouth team so there is no guarantee this player will be moving up to a professional league. At present he fails notability guidelines so the article will most likely be deleted. Another article you created (Simon Radcliffe) has been nominated for deletion for the same reason. Please remember to sign your posts in the future. Barret (talk) 16:48, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
