Re: Improper Vandal warning progression

Thanks for your comment. However, if you check the edits carefully, you'll see that the IP is adding two images

with the professed intent of illustrating two spaceships in the science fiction comedy series Red Dwarf, a DVD release of which is the subject of this article. I can assure you that neither spaceship resembles a toy steam engine or a pair of running shoes.

This isn't an edit war so much as a vandal adding inappropriate images, and then my removing them. --Rawfully 21:21, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, wasn't ignoring your message, was looking back through the edit history.
There seems to be a certain amount of POV pushing WRT the quality of the remastered versions of this series (eg. unsourced statements such as "fans consider Red Dwarf Remastered to represent for Red Dwarf what the remixed "Jaaaaam" series was for the Chris Morris project "Jam". In this respect, it had distorted visual and aural effects which were designed to make the experience of the first three series of Red Dwarf much like that of a haunting dream.") plus blatant inaccuracy (eg. this never happened: "To distinguish between the (now almost identical) opening sequences of each series, a CGI tin can (as an ejected item of rubbish), was added to the opening pull-out of the Red Dwarf model, featuring the words "series one", "series two" and "series three" respectively.)
Moreover, looking back through the history, there seems to have been an attempt to get both problem pictures and the POV on remastering into the article for quite a while now (a month?), usually from an IP in the 86.133-135 range. It would take a while to sort through each instance and make a full list. --Rawfully 21:33, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

My RFA
Hey Malinaccier! Thanks for your support in my request for adminship, which ended with 61 supports, 3 opposes, and 1 neutral. I was particularly pleased when you supported me, as it clearly indicated that you thought I had grown a lot as an editor, and that really means a lot to me. I hope your confidence in me proves to be justified, and please feel free to call on me if you ever need any help or opinions! GlassCobra 01:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry.

It was supposed to be a sarcastic comment towards the content of the article. Thanks, Codelyoko193 (T/C) 21:40, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I would like to add that I usually put "tag" as my summary. Thanks, Codelyoko193 (T/C) 21:52, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Rigadoun RFA

Hi Malinaccier, I noticed you just added an optional question to Rigadoun's RFA. Did you notice that he already addressed the subject of your question in his answer to Question 1? --JayHenry 00:10, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Your sig

Your sig is ridiculously long (though I understand why). This is its current form:

Malinaccier (talk contribs count)
<span id="{Malinaccier}" class="plainlinks" >Malinaccier}}}|{Malinaccier} (Malinaccier}}}|talk <small>•</small> Malinaccier}}}|contribs <small>•</small> <span style="color:#002bb8">count</span></span>)

That's 434 characters.

Here's a much, much smaller version that achieves the same effect:

Malinaccier (talk contribs count)
<strong class="plainlinks">User:Malinaccier (talk <small>•</small> contribs <small>•</small> <span style="color:#002bb8">count</span>)</strong>

It ends up being just 318 characters. It's still sizable, and personally I don't think you need your edit count link in there, but it's a lot better, and doesn't fill up the editing page will a bunch of useless code. EVula // talk // // 01:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank you very much for the barnstar, Malinaccier! I'm glad me welcoming you resulted helpful. Tons of people create themselves accounts on Wikipedia everyday, but most of them either don't make any edits at all or just make a few edits and then leave the project. Fortunately, there are some rare cases in which users actually stay and make lots of valuable contributions to Wikipedia. I'm glad you were one of those rare cases. Best of luck and happy editing, TomasBat 01:24, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Your welcome message

Hi. As nice as your welcome message is, it's HUGE! You have to scroll down the page and then edit the whole page to add a message to a page that's been graced wth your message. Any chance you can cut it down? No offense, it just could be easier to work around.  :) Corvus cornix (talk) 23:02, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

I can probably shorten it considerably. I'll try my best! Thanks for the feedback! Malinaccier (talk contribs) 23:06, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
You're welcome. It is pretty.  :) Corvus cornix (talk) 23:07, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Pretty =D. Thanks!! Do you think it would be good to remove the bottom set of links (Other Useful links)? Malinaccier (talk contribs) 23:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, you could probably remove that, put it onto a subpage of your User page and link to it. Corvus cornix (talk) 23:30, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Also, I think there's a few broken links. • EvanS :: talk § email § photos 21:09, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Nothing florid, nothing fancy. Just thanks: for the question, and for the support. I'll try to wield the Mop-and-Bucket with grace and humility. --Orange Mike 04:00, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Reply to your adoption question

Hi. Both User:Urbane and I have added replies to your question at Wikipedia talk:Adopt-a-User#Assignment, and since there was some delay between the question and the replies, I wanted to let you know so that you wouldn't miss it. I hope you find our responses helpful. --Sopoforic (talk) 05:42, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

RFA support thanks

One of my favorite places Dear Malinaccier,

Thank you for supporting in my recent RfA. Words nor pictures can express my heartfelt appreciation at the confidence the community has shown me. I am both heartened and humbled by this confidence. I will carry the lessons learned from the constructive criticism I have received with me as I edit Wikipedia, and heed those lessons. Special thanks to Pedro and Henrik as nominators. Special thanks to Rudget who wanted to. A very special thanks to Moonriddengirl for her eloquence.

Cheers, Dlohcierekim 22:46, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
