[edit]Ünlü Batı Trakya Türklerini araştırıyorum Mustafa bey. Ünlü evlatlar önemli buradaki gibi contextlerde. Başka türlü bakmaya başlıyorlar. I already added Şerif Gören among Turks of Western Thrace. And then they try to steal them, as it happened to me on Cretan Turks page, and one has to fight:) Anyway, aklınıza gelen Batı Trakyalı Türk varsa, bana haber vermekten veya eklemekten çekinmeyin. Gerekirse maddesi de hazırlanır. Cretanforever
Te, nun, vav görüyorum ama okuyamadım Mustafa bey. Wikipedia'da dolaşan resimler 1910'ların 1920'lerin ilerisine gidemedi bir türlü:) Konu nedir? Cretanforever
Pan-Turkism
[edit]Hi Mustafa Akalp. I have answered to most of your comments on Talk:Pan-Turkism. As for 'Megali Idea' and 'Enosis', see how articles similar to 'Pan-Turkism' are treated in the 'See also' sections: Pan-Slavism, Pan-Celticism, etc. If Pan-Turkism refered only to Turkish people, then we can add 'Megali Idea' as well, but since it talks about the Turkic peoples, it is found in a multi-country sphaere, just like the Celts and the Slavs. Regards Hectorian 18:21, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Copyright violation
[edit]Mustafa, I believe this image is a copyright violation from here. If it is, tell an administrator so that they can delete it. You must never upload images claiming you made them, when in reality you didn't.--Tekleni 16:00, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've tagged it and listed it for deletion for you. Please also remove it from your userpage as soon as possible. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:03, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: TRWT-Rv
[edit]Selam Mustafa. to be honest with u, your edit summary seemed so nationalistic, that i urged to revert u [1]. for it seemed too POV. don't turn to nationalism please, no matter the reason:) As a matter of fact, u should not link to "Muslim minority..." article with only with an explanation "Turk..". There is already an article named Turks of Western Thrace, and this covers the Turkish minority. the Muslim minority of Greece is not made up only by Turks, so, u cannot claim all of it. BTW, i did some searching and i found out that the term 'Turkish Republic of Western Thrace' gives no google hits (apart from a comment on a forum!). but 'Republic of Gümülcine' gives more... So, i think we should move the page there. Thoughts? Hectorian 18:31, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Blanking warning
[edit]Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Turkish Republic of Western Thrace. It is considered vandalism. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. Aecis I'm too busy acting like I'm not naive. 10:28, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Blanking the article won't help, because it's not possible to move an article to a title that already exists. If you disagree with a redirect, or with the title of an article, discuss it civilly on the talk page. There is never an excuse for blanking. Aecis I'm too busy acting like I'm not naive. 10:40, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your support of my RfA, and thank you for understanding my answers to the questions!

- Well, it's been a week now that I've been an administrator and I'd like to take this moment to once again thank everyone who supported my RfA, and to let you all know that I don't think I've screwed anything up yet so I hope I'm living up to everyone's expectations for me. But if I ever fall short of those expectations, I'd certainly welcome folks telling me about it!
RE: Annan Plan for Cyprus
[edit]See m:The Wrong Version. -- Steel 18:21, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
When you moved this template, you broke all the pages that used it. If you are going to move a flag-and-country-name template, please use an all-caps highly abbreviated name, which is the standard convention for these flag-and-country-name templates, and then change all references to it in other pages to refer directly to the new name. Perhaps Template:TRNC might be a good compromise name for this? -- The Anome 10:19, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- I see now that you were trying to repair a previous move. I've now copied the template text back to Template:TRNC, and also left it in place at Template:N CYPRUS. I suggest you change the links in all the pages that link to Template:N CYPRUS back to use TNRC, but that, after doing that, you leave Template:N CYPRUS as-is, so we don't get into an unnecessary edit war about template names. -- The Anome 10:35, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Your problem

[edit]Selam, I saw your post here, and I'd like to apologize for the rude comments. It was due to frustration from what seems like endless edit wars (believe it or not, I don't like edit wars...). Your accusing me vandalism and promoting radical-national views etc didn't help either. Now can we please work together to make the articles neutral... Thanks.--Tekleni 14:32, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Imbros
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for adding material on what Imbros is now, as opposed to the dreary ethnic controversy.
Some comments, which I hope will be helpful:
- Please don't add too many headers; we only need headers to divide actual text. Write the section on the economy, for example, and add headers in that edit.
- Please do use English for the Dardanelles, for example; what you write is intended to be read by English-speakers.
- What festival of the Virgin is on August 30? The Assumption of the Virgin was on August 28, by the unreformed Greek calendar; but that would be the 15th by modern calendars.
- Please don't advertise. In particular, unless your friends would be notable in a world-wide encyclopedia, take them out again.
- Are you sure you meant that Zeytinli köyü used to be Aghios Theodorios, not Theodoros?
- When you wrote "sany beach", did you mean "sandy"?
Your English is infinitely better than my Turkish; these are fine points. Septentrionalis 18:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Gelibolu
[edit]Hi again. It looks like you're trying to move one or more pages (Gelibolu and Gallipoli). However, please stop doing that this way - the new name of the page might be good, but Wikipedia has another procedure for moving pages. Look at Help:Renaming (moving) a page: you need to use the move tab, and not cut and paste. Cut and paste moves don't take the edit history with them and thus violate the GDFL copyright terms. Also, in some cases, when the move might be controversial, you might first want to discuss the move on the article's talk page. If a move is not possible because a page with the new name already exists, go to Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thanks! —Khoikhoi 04:07, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Mustafa, I don't disagree with you, but I'm trying to explain to you that you can't move pages my copying & pasting the contents. It destroys the edit history, something that is necessary in all Wikipedia articles. You have to ask an admin to perform the move for you, or go to WP:RM. —Khoikhoi 04:16, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Here's what I recommend:
- You ask an admin to move Gallipoli to Gelibolu for you (if you feel the move would be controversial, go to WP:RM). Please note that currently the Gallipoli article is about the town.
- You turn Gallipoli into a disambiguation page, linking to both Gelibolu Town and the Gallipoli Peninsula/Gelibolu Peninsula.
- How does that sound? —Khoikhoi 04:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Even if most of the article was about the peninsula, the intro started by stating that "Gallipoli is a town in northeastern Turkey". Secondly, please see the edit history of the Gelibolu article, and compare to the edit history of the Gallipoli article. See the difference? We need to have the full edit history to whatever page you want to move, that's why you have to go to an admin.
- As for the images, if they are already on the Wikimedia Commons, you can just link them here. If they are not, you need to re-upload them here. Regards. —Khoikhoi 04:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Mustafa Akalp(T) (C) 07:10, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Here's the question, what is the most common meaning of "Gallipoli" in English? If the most common meaning is the town, it should redirect to a page about Gallipoli town. However, if you think the town and peninsula are equally common, Gallipoli should become a disambiguation page. You can add the list you told me to Gallipoli (disambiguation). I'm not sure about the correct spellings, try asking Hectorian. —Khoikhoi 19:43, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Re:DRA
[edit]Mustafa (Kemal Atatürk?), I have changed the statement from "At this point the Turkish Revolutionaries began fighting the Armenians. The justification of which was that the Armenians across the border were performing 'crimes' against the Turkish population." to "At this point, Turkish Revolutionaries under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk claimed that the Turks across the border were being mistreated and oppressed by the Armenians. This eventually led to the Turkish-Armenian War." How's that? Best, Clevelander 13:28, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: States
[edit]You do have a point (on the double standards). I was pointing to the NGOs recognizing the Pontus (and I think they also recognize the Assyrian) genocide(s). However, the article other alleged genocides denied by the Turkish government are the Pontian Greek Genocide and the Assyrian Genocide. In other words, the article does not say that these genocides did happen. It is saying that some people claim that these genocides happened and Turkish government says they did not.--Tekleni 18:39, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- See wiktionary:denial: an assertion of untruth. The word 'denial' does not imply it did happen. It means that the TR government says it did not.--Tekleni 19:13, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Imbros
[edit]Of course i knew where Bartholomew was born! i know that since 1991... Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople was moved (by me) half a month ago... And Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople was moved (not by me) long ago... I know that u contribute in perspective articles, and i have to say that i was surprised, in a good way:). Allow me to say that calling this action of mine "nationalistic" is simply funny... I am calling him as the whole world does! I will have to ask u to to reasonable: i know the Turkish state's position on this matter, but this is an english wikipedia. In addition, do not forget that u had moved the article to "Patriarch of Istanbul", something that i fail even to explain... Regards Hectorian 19:00, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Current with a history of more than 1.5 millenium... I would suggest u to read the respective articles for more info. As i said, i can present sources from all around the world for this title, so, there is no possibility for the Turkish government's POV to be presented in wiki articles as fact. however, u can create a section, explaining the turkish position, if u wish to. Regards Hectorian 19:23, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, Makalp! Thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of 75/0/1! I hope I can live up to the standards of adminship, and I will try my best to make Wikipedia a better place. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance. :) |

[edit]My administratorship candidacy succeeded with a final tally of 81/0/1. I appreciate your support. Results are at Wikipedia:Recently_created_admins#Durova. Warmly, Durova 22:05, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm posting this message here because you're listed as a native speaker of Turkish on Babel. The above article about a Turkish musician has been listed for deletion under PROD, because the assertions of notability within it are not sourced. The "Press" section of this page contains many media sources, but all are apparently in Turkish. If it's not too much trouble, could you have a look at them and see whether any could be used to reinforce the article? Thanks! -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 13:40, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Campaigning against User:Khoikhoi's RfA
[edit]Please stop contacting other users regarding this RfA. Campaigning for (or in this instance) against an RfA in this way is disruptive and corrupts Wikipedia's process. However strongly you feel about a particular candidate you may not drum up likely support or oppose contributors ij this way. If you do not stop I will be forced to block you to stop you. Thanks, Gwernol 12:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm afraid any campaigning on behalf of a candidate's RfA is a problem because you selected the group of people you emailed, and you have sent them a message voicing your opinion of the candidate. This automatically biases the vote and is not acceptable on Wikipedia. If you have allegations to make, then bring them to the appropriate forum. RfA is not the correct place to bring these allegations. Raise them at the administrators' noticeboard.
- Regarding the specific allegations, you have presented no evidence that Khoikhoi is orchestrating other user by email. This is an extremely serious allegation and if proved would likely result in Khoikhoi being blocked for an extended period of time or even banned. On the othyer hand if you have no evidence to support this allegation, then making it is a form of harassment and will not be tolerated. Please present your evidence to the admin noticeboard immediately. Thanks, Gwernol 12:32, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Temporary block
[edit]You have been blocked temporarily for disruption.
Your contributions history shows that you have been aggressively cross-posting in order to influence RfA voting. Although the Arbitration Committee has ruled that "[t]he occasional light use of cross-posting to talk pages is part of Wikipedia's common practice"1, such cross-posting should adhere to specific guidelines found in Wikipedia:Spam. In the past, aggressively worded cross-posting has contributed towards an Arbitration Committee ruling of disruptive behavior that resulted in blocking2. It is best not to game the system, and instead respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building, by ceasing to further crosspost, and instead allowing the process to reflect the opinions of editors that were already actively involved in the matter at hand. Thank you. ≈ jossi ≈ t • @ 15:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
NPOV
[edit]I've been looking at this since you asked me last week, and although I see some users using superiority of numbers to revert your edits I can't see any conclusive evidence that a)this is an orchestrated effort or b)it is anything other than a disagreement over facts. These disagreements should be discussed on the talk pages and not subject of an edit war in the article itself. Failing agreement you should request comments or mediation from an outside party. If your block is lifted before the termination of Khokhoi's RFA, I'd ask you to withdraw the accusations against him, as I can see no evidence that he is involved in the edit warring (in fact you have reverted to his versions on occasion). He has reverted versions of the articles, but not as part of any revert rule avoidance campaign as far as I can see, and your accusations that he is the leader of a group orchestrating the campaign by email are at best ill-judged. Cheers, Yomanganitalk 15:43, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Mustafa, I saw your request at WP:RM. The split of the article you requested should not go to WP:RM; it goes normally by cut/paste, and edit history is preserved in the original article anyway (i.e. edit histories can be merged but not split). I started the job, creating a substub about the city at Gelibolu. Take it on from there. Duja 09:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Unblocked
[edit]I unblocked you per agreement on WP:AN and here. Please note that the consensus also was that vote canvassing is an unacceptable practice. Thus, you might be permanently blocked if you repeat such or similar offense. Actually, Khoikhoi was the one who insisted on unblock most, and I think his words carried special weight; most of the people who know you on Wikipedia, including myself, stated that you should be given second chance. Please keep on being constructive, like you did before, but also avoid stating serious allegations that you cannot back up with evidence. Regards. Duja 13:01, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
