Hello Madmedea, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:William holman hunt-the shadow of death.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Madmedea/Sandbox2. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:25, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment - unfortunately I linked to the wrong image. Could you take another look and let me know if it will be deleted or not? Richard001 11:10, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

U.S. map images

I've put a listing of the remaining U.S. county-level map images from my bot uploads at User:The Anome/Old US map images: a quick preview suggests that a few of the PNG images seem not to have corresponding SVG images, and you might want to get those fixed before you delete the originals. -- The Anome 20:57, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Madmedea. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that a quick check of your last 5k contributions has shown that you often not warn users when reverting or tagging as CSD. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. «Snowolf How can I help?» 10:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm curious as to what you think I should post to ANI about Tuskjet. They've made one vandalism edit that I know of, they've been warned once about their attitude and have since not said or done anything, and they've uploaded two, what I feel are suspect, images. The ANI page clearly says "this is not the Wikipedia complaints department", so, I ask you, what should I post there?

As for the images, I just wanted to add something, I don't think that they have the right to release either of the images. Tuskjet said that he/she produced both the images though when confronted about it, they caved in on one of them. Why do that if they actually did produce the images? Dismas|(talk) 16:10, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

They've been blocked! Dismas|(talk) 18:19, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Dear Madmedea,

Thanks for being a great Wikipedian! You encountered the rough side of Wikipedia when you tagged many images for speedy deletion as having no source, yet you bounced right back and kept on contributing! That takes a lot of courage and commitment, and thanks for being willing to contribute to Wikipedia! I leave you some of my favorite (freely licensed!) photographs of flowers from Commons, and hope they brighten your day! Cheers, Iamunknown 23:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. :) You make a very valid point about the gallery possibly becoming bloated, which is something I hadn't considered. I was mimicking other artists' articles with galleries, albeit articles with far more text, so I definitely see where you're coming from. Feel free to do what you think is best, and it was kind of you to ask me personally. You won't find a lot of that on Wikipedia, unfortunately. Take care, María (críticame) 12:00, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Another excellent point; I'll keep that in mind when I'm looking to wikify other artists' articles. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions, María (críticame) 13:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:TheCloudLogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TheCloudLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 01:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Possibly unfree Image:87009.jpg / Image:66016.jpg

I took this picture, I have ownership of both the subjects of the pictures, and the original source jpg images created in these picture. I therefore claim copyright to this image. Please amend your entries accordingly. However I have no particular interest in these source jpgs (the subject is not one of unique interest), therefore I release all rights and allow unrestricted use.

Charlotte? Lennox

The image added to Charlotte Lennox looks a little odd to me. Please see talk:Charlotte Lennox. Thanks for trying to illustrate it, and I will be delighted to be wrong. Geogre 21:20, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BangDVDcover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:BangDVDcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:26, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

DO NOT SABOTAGE THE HUSABERG ARTICLE ANYMORE!!!

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Darkest Hour (Cabot), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
