Suggestions

[edit]

Hi again @Maddy at H&W. I think you've done a great job with this. A few suggestions, which are just my thoughts and not mandatory (and other editors may disagree)

  • You noted Artists For New York and a number of other exhibits but it isn't clear to the reader why those are significant. Were they the first in a country, the first to be a fundraiser, etc? I feel like more context would be helpful.
  • You've done a great job to avoid promotional discussion, but I question whether the education & learning section doesn't edge too closely to that. It's not clear the outside impact of that program.
  • I'm not sure my move of the exhibits to the locations section is the perfect solution, but it made sense to talk about the locations and their exhibits. Open to other ideas. Star Mississippi 14:13, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Star Mississippi, thanks so much for taking the time to look over my draft, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you think my ideas have merit! I'm going to do a bit more research and look over the section you mentioned again and will be in touch shortly, if that's OK. If you have any other ideas or feedback, I'd love to hear them as well. Thanks again, Maddy at H&W (talk) 11:19, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely @Maddy at H&W. Ping me here or on my Talk like you did to remind me if I miss a message. Happy to ontinue helping. Star Mississippi 13:35, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Star Mississippi, so sorry for the delay, I've been very preoccupied with Art Basel but have been waiting for a chance to come back to this and address your feedback. I've made a few edits to the draft, but was hesitant to go into too much detail about the Artists for New York fundraiser for fear of getting promotional. It's possible that I still haven't given enough context? If you think the information in the source would be better presented differently, please feel free to make edits to the draft directly.
Regarding the Education and learning section- I certainly don't want to push for anything that feels promotional. I do think some of the partnerships and programs the gallery is working on add value to the reader, but again, didn't want to elaborate too much as I may not be as neutral as I try to be. I've changed the section title and tweaked some of the language, and would also like to add these two sources to the discussion in case you think they add value or context- Art News and Financial Times.
As for the exhibitions and locations, they are certainly correlated but I'm not sure the former fits into the latter category. Perhaps my suggestion of "Locations and exhibitions" would work here?
Thanks again for your time on this, I really appreciate it. Looking forward to your thoughts, Maddy at H&W (talk) 08:58, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping. I thought I was watching this. You've done a wonderful job incorporating the suggestions. Thank you so much for this. One thing I would check-and I don't know the answer to this, but someone will-is the manual of style as far as single/double quotations and/or italics for the publications and installations. Star Mississippi, great! Thanks so much for your help with this. I think your edit is fine, I've tweaked it just slightly and added an infobox as well. This draft is actually part of an edit request on the main article's Talk page, should I go ahead and implement these changes myself now that they are ready? Will leave a note for any other editors on the page as well. Thanks again for your help. Maddy at H&W (talk) 10:50, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Thanks for the reminder on the origin of the request. I'll make the change to avoid any concerns about you making it. (It would have been fine, you've gone well beyond all guidelines-and thank you for that) but easier sometimes for a non involved editor. I'll also add to your note on the Talk when I do so and invite feedback from others, especially on the Manual of Style that I'm not sure about. Star Mississippi 13:26, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
